00:01More than 200 content creators and influencers claim they are owed unpaid earnings after completing promotional assignments through a marketing
00:10application platform.
00:12The group alleged that the platform failed to settle outstanding payments despite the work being completed and withdrawal requests being
00:19submitted.
00:21MCA Federal Territories Legal Bureau Chief Victor Teo said on Tuesday, the platform acted as an intermediary linking companies and
00:29brands with content creators to promote products and services on social media.
01:07Some victims said they joined the platform after learning about it through social media and claimed they had spent their
01:13own money purchasing items required to complete certain assignments.
01:17Because I was through Instagram, there were other content creators, they tagged them and there were other companies that said
01:24they could get a job.
01:26So I tried to try to find their apps to get a job.
01:29On the 5th of June, there were more content creators that were still viral.
01:33I just started to stop their work, listen to their stuff, not to get their job, and then I was
01:39looking for my payment.
01:40From the 6th of June until now, I didn't get a payment.
01:43So sejak 2022, saya dah start menggunakan aplikasi platform ni untuk apply job lah.
01:50So sebelum ni, for so many years, dia ok je dia bayar saya setiap 3 bulan paling lewat.
01:57Tapi sejak hujung 2024, dia dah start lambat sampai sekarang lah, dah setahun lebih, tak bayar-bayar.
02:05Tapi hujung bulan April, dia orang ada reply saya punya WhatsApp, dia orang cakap bulan 5 dia orang akan bayar
02:11saya punya payment sebanyak RM19,000.
02:14Tapi sampai sekarang tak bayar-bayar juga.
02:15Some of the victims have lodged police reports over the alleged non-payment.
02:19They are also urging authorities to investigate the matter and calling on the platform to explain the delays and settle
02:26all outstanding payments.
