00:10Tiwari is hoping for trap and skeet shooting to grow in the country since many are not aware of such

00:16The popularity is limited in the sense that we are blessed in the sense that we are operating under the

00:25So we have to get permission and so on to have firearms. But we do get approvals and we do
00:30have people shooting.
00:32Recently we had two persons going to Barbados in a shooting competition and they outperformed the Olympic athlete in Barbados.
00:41They came first and third.
00:45In order for things to materialize, action is required, which is why Tiwari doesn't believe in resting on his laurels.
00:51His team continues to do the groundwork so that TNT can become a Caribbean giant in Trap and Skeet.
00:57We have a new management and we are looking towards that. We are looking to get the defense force involved.
01:02We are looking to get the cadet force because they are allowed to use firearms from the age of about
01:0714, 13 years onward.
01:09So they are very good prospects.
01:12Two members from Trinidad and Tobago recently meddled at the Inter-Caribbean Clay Target Council shoot in Barbados.
01:18Benjamin Boyd grabbed gold while Nami Dib captured bronze.
01:23According to Tiwari, the priority is to work with the duo so they can continue representing TNT in international competitions.
01:30Definitely, that is the mandate of the Trinidad and Tobago Trapanski to have someone in the next Olympics.
01:35And we are working very, very hard towards that.
01:38As mentioned earlier on that two persons have performed well in Barbados and they have actually beat the Olympian from
01:45Barbados.
01:45It means to say we stand a very good chance.
01:48And all the upcoming events like the CAC game, Pan American game, we are working towards getting an athlete inside
01:53of there.
01:54Once they are there, they can be in the finals of an Olympic.
02:00And what's the message for those wanting to get into Trapanski?
02:03Well, I would advise them to go for it.
02:06There are age criteria and so on which we are working with.
02:09But I can speak for myself, I started in sport at a very early age, 18.
