00:00I've always been hearing about how the U.S. is up and coming, it's happening, you know, the game's getting
00:05bigger.
00:05It is, but very slowly, and here's why.
00:07Because we don't have a sort of relegation system like USL goes to MLS,
00:12and there's no opportunity for more people to get involved in the game and sort of get emotionally invested.
00:18You have to be like the fan of this MLS team.
00:20The barrier to entry into the sport is just not, you know, I think where it should be.
00:23So that's a bigger picture question.
00:25For this World Cup, again, no, I don't think so.
00:27It's corporate, it's going to be forced.
00:29You're going to see a lot of, like, sponsorships, a lot of people performing at these things,
00:33and it's going to be, like, corporate opportunities to use it as marketing more than actually,
00:38hey, let's give the people a fun place to watch and just have fun and get drunk and celebrate and
00:42all come together.
00:43No, it's sponsored by this, sponsored by that, this brand and this brand and this brand,
00:47and here's a gift bag from this brand.
00:49But that's American culture.
00:51That's the USA right there.
00:52That's how they built every sport in the U.S.
00:54How many commercials have we seen for this World Cup so far?
00:57Every day.
00:58There's a new commercial every day.
01:00It's so commercialized.
01:01But this is not new.
01:02FIFA is probably one of the most corrupt organizations in the planet.
01:06We all know it.
01:07The U.S. government knows it.
01:09They brought them down in just for them to get a World Cup.
01:13That was clear that when that happened back in the big CONCACAF scandal of not too long ago,
01:18the U.S. came out really, really well positioned to be the new voice of CONCACAF
01:22and a very important voice in the global soccer.
01:25So, a lot of politics are being implained in this World Cup.
01:29The change of format, I'm not so happy.
01:32There's rumors that we might go up to 64 teams for the next World Cup.
01:37What are we doing?
01:38What are we doing?
