00:00New reporting here after that unprecedented FBI search at the home of former President Trump
00:04at Mar-a-Lago in Florida. Tonight, ABC News has learned that the FBI told the Secret Service
00:09just 45 minutes before they arrived, and then the Secret Service telling Mar-a-Lago staff just
00:14moments before those agents arrived. Sources telling ABC News the search is related to
00:18allegations the former president improperly removed documents when he left the White House.
00:23They were brought to Mar-a-Lago, including classified material, and it wasn't the first
00:27time federal agents had been to Mar-a-Lago, their first visit in the spring. We have
00:31learned tonight that it was a... That was only a few short years ago. Yeah. The raid of Uncle
00:42Trump's home. Mm-hmm. Only a few short years ago. Crazy, right? And, you know, one of the
00:53individuals that, uh, was very prominent during that time period in, uh, you know, saying negative
01:03things about Trump, you know, basically trying to take a victory lap on Trump was a guy by the name
01:10of John Bolton. As a matter of fact, here's a clip. Read the indictment, which I don't think many people
01:17have done. Uh, it's really a masterful piece of work in my view. It is devastating and, and it really
01:23should be the end of Trump's political career, let alone the beginning of his jail time. Ultimately,
01:28I think people will see this is, this behavior by Trump was a serious threat to national security.
01:36Hmm. Interesting. So it was a serious threat to national security that he had classified documents
01:44and the indictment was masterful and it should have been the end of his political career in the
01:51beginning of his prison sentence. Okay. Fair enough, John. Fair enough. Very serious. Remember
02:00very serious. Well, as you guys may have known, and if you didn't know, John Bolton was indicted
02:05a while back. Okay. And his home was raided. Hmm. Interesting, right? Well, we got some news. We got some
02:13news. Ladies and gentlemen, here it is. And now let's get to some breaking news from just moments
02:18ago. John Bolton, president Trump's former national security, security advisor is expected to plead
02:24guilty over mishandling classified documents. And for much more on what we know about, about that,
02:29let's get to CBS news legal contributor. Well, by golly, I'm shocked. Should this be the end of
02:35his professional career, the beginning of his prison life? Cause this is, this is very serious. This is a
02:43major threat. My, have the tables turned. Peter, Jessica Levinson, Jessica, thanks for your time
02:53today. So what are we learning about this? So we're learning that John Bolton has apparently agreed to
02:59plead guilty to one count of improperly retaining classified information. He was facing 18 counts.
03:07He had a court date that was scheduled for June 26th, and he was facing counts related to not just
03:13retaining classified information, but also disseminating that information. Specifically,
03:19the allegations were reportedly related to sending his wife and his daughter classified information,
03:25all in the preparation for the book that he wrote that was highly critical of President Trump. We also know
03:32that
03:33John Bolton had said that he was the victim of a weaponized Department of Justice. One thing I think as
03:39this
03:39story continues to play out that's important for people to know is this case was a little different than other
03:45cases where the Department of Justice went after some of President Trump's political foes. This was a case where
03:53reporting indicates that career prosecutors supported the case and the Biden Department of Justice also looked into this
04:00case. So right now what we have is an apparent plea deal and John Bolton facing anywhere from about zero
04:06to five years in
04:08jail. Yeah, and I'm looking at this information we got to about it and I know he he's agreed to
04:13pay two point two five
04:14million dollars. That's a fine in all this. I'm curious though is he is pleading guilty and obviously the the
04:20Justice
04:21Justice Department had some evidence about wrongdoing here. Does that mean he is accepting the fact that he in fact
04:26did not act
04:27properly in this case?
04:29So if he does if the judge accepts this plea deal and does in court say I plead guilty then
04:36absolutely that is an acceptance of not
04:39just wrongdoing but criminal wrongdoing. Part of what happens in a plea deal is that a federal judge will almost
04:45always say do you
04:46understand what you're saying do you understand you're admitting to guilt in this case. There are different types of
04:52pleas where you essentially plead no contest. That's not what we're talking about here. The reporting again indicates that he
04:58will say I did something wrong not as to those 18 counts all 18 but as to this one count
05:06of retaining classified information.
05:09Wow. Okay. Oh what a coinkydink huh? Quite interesting. So I think he should face prison time because that's what
05:21he said
05:21should happen right? That's exactly what he said should happen. As a matter of fact I have another clip. Uh
05:27where is it?
05:27Yeah right here. Check it out. You know Republicans used to believe that not prosecuting criminals led to more crime.
05:35The answer
05:36here is take the politics out of the decision and in this case proceed with the prosecution and do the
05:42same for anybody else who does
05:43anything even remotely like it. Just read the indictment and ask yourself if the government can prove what they allege
05:51here shouldn't
05:52this man go to jail. The simple fact he had the documents for any reason or no reason uh should
05:59subject him to prosecution. Yeah okay okay jail right according to his own standard he should be sent to jail
06:12to prison simple and plain no if ands or buts about it but you know what I found interesting when
06:19I was you know
06:19trying to put this video together. I came across the you know leftist media a couple leftist media clips
06:27and I want to play a couple of them for you because of course there's a whole lot of hypocrisy
06:32going on
06:33like uh this one here. Check it out. So we seize this as an opportunity to again portray himself as
06:39the victim.
06:40This is classic Donald Trump. Uh you know he spent most of his presidency portraying himself as a victim of
06:47the Russia
06:47investigation uh certainly his impeachments uh and now he's portraying himself as a victim of a runaway
06:54and politicized uh department of justice. Moment we'll get to the stunning developments coming into
06:59the weekend with FBI agents swarming around the home and office of former Trump national security
07:05advisor John Bolton. But first the context. This didn't happen in a vacuum. John Bolton is on a long
07:13list of Trump critics who are now facing the wrath of president Trump and his justice department.
07:19I see.
07:23So for one set of individuals is political retribution you know it's it's all about politics but then for the
07:29other one
07:30for Trump it's uh well he was just guilty.
07:37You can't make this stuff up man. You really can't. You really can't. What a shame.
07:42Breaking news. We are learning that the FBI executed a search warrant at former president
07:48Trump's Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach Florida. We also know uh that that it had turned out earlier right
07:54that the president had taken a lot of documents that were marked as top secret classified to Mar-a-Lago
07:58that he shouldn't have. I guess let's just cut to the bottom line on what's happened here.
08:02Do you believe that the raids on John Bolton's home and his office are political payback?
08:13And that is why mainstream media is absolutely garbage. Absolutely garbage. But hey you know
08:22they're the reason why people like me exist. So I guess I can't be too mad about it right. I
08:27can't be
08:27too mad about it. So here uh let's read a little let's read a little bit here. I did not
08:34mean to
08:35take that off the screen my bad.
08:38So Bolton has agreed. Mind you he's 77. So um a five-year sentence is taking him. Wait isn't 77
08:50life expectancy for men in America? If I'm not correct I believe it. I believe that it is.
08:57Correct me in the comments if I'm wrong. But uh two me agrees to pay a two million dollar fine.
09:04Oh it's part of the deal. And uh could spend up to five years in prison. Now will he get
09:12a whole five
09:12years? I highly doubt it. Highly doubt it. It's if he does get time it'll be closer to zero than
09:19to
09:19five. I guarantee it. But according to his own standard he should go to jail. He should go to jail.
09:28Used his uh his personal email to uh share sensitive materials with two unauthorized
09:34individuals. Sharing classified information. What a shame. What a shame. Realized that uh that
09:44hearing was coming up. It was like nah bro we ain't taking this to trial.
09:51We are not taking this to trial. Hey listen. The jig is up. Okay.
09:58We we came out here. We we said what we needed to say. We said that this was all political.
10:03We we got the far leftist to believe it. But now we got to come back to we got to
10:08snap back to reality.
10:10And uh I ain't going to jail for the rest of my life for this. So I'm just gonna plead
10:15on it.
10:15All right. Cause I know I'm guilty. He ain't about to get me.
10:23Wow. Absolutely incredible stuff man. Incredible stuff. The original was 18 counts. 18 counts.
10:35To uh he used his personal email and messaging app to circulate 1000 pages. 1000 pages that
10:43included sensitive information. Crazy. Crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy. Less than a year after his
10:52firing Bolton released a tell-all book about his time in the trumpet. Of course, of course,
10:57of course he did. Of course he did. Bro what what is up with everybody with these books? Like
11:02do do people make a lot of money off of books? I feel like everybody
11:07is writing a book, you know? Oh, this person wrote a book. That person wrote a book. This person wrote
11:13a book. Is there a way that that you know they're laundering money that I'm not aware of? What's what's
11:18going on with this? I'm not too well versed in you know the financials when it comes to uh
11:24writing books and things. So somebody who knows more please let me know. Please let me know. I'm
11:30confused because like who's buying this stuff? Like who who bought the Kareem Jean Pierre book?
11:37Who bought a book from Jake Tapper? You know like who's buying these books?
11:43I'm confused. Y'all let me know. But hey, John Bolton plead or is going to plead guilty and
11:55admit that once again, they always accuse Trump or Republicans of what they're actually doing.
12:04Perfect case of it right here. Stay safe out there. Peace and love.
12:09Amen.
