00:00Seeing the mayor last night, which is what I teased before the break, and seeing Andre,
00:03who's such a great guy and co-host here on a regular basis, and has done a fabulous job
00:08getting this city ready. I can just tell you I was in Los Angeles. They ain't ready. They don't
00:12care. There's homelessness everywhere. There's horrible patches of tense cities and all kinds
00:18of stuff that the city just could not attack well enough. Same thing in Seattle and other places.
00:25Atlanta's downtown is finally starting to absolutely blossom, so I gave Andre a ton
00:30of credit for that, and I said, did you see the article? And he goes, I don't know what
00:33you're talking about. I said, dude, did you see they ranked the 16 top cities for World
00:39Cup? He's like, no. And you can see he got nervous, and I was like, well, let's start
00:43with 16, New York, MetLife, the ones who got the finals. They're 16. I said, Boston, 14,
00:49or whatever they were. I was like, Seattle, Kansas City. So, of course, I made it almost
00:56like it was a radio bit. I wouldn't tell him right away. I go, number two.
00:59You did a deep tease live. Good for you.
01:01Yeah, I said, number two, Mexico City. And he goes, yeah. And I go, number one, Atlanta,
01:08Georgia. And he just, I mean, he jumped up, high five, fired up. That is such a big thing.
01:15Every city is trying to put their best foot forward. Every city is trying to showcase themselves
01:22to the world, right? There is an economic, international level of opportunity that this
01:33provides. And if you talk to people at the Metro Atlanta Chamber or the Georgia Economic Development,
01:39you know, when we have these big companies that we've had move to Atlanta and open factories and
01:43have the Kia plant the way we have that or the Ravinia deal that we've had and had Mercedes
01:48headquarters move here and all these things. It's huge economic growth. They look at World
01:53Cup as a chance to showcase your city to the rest of the world and folks are going to be
01:56here.
01:57Believe me, they're going to be businessmen from Brazil and Spain and England and Germany
02:02and all over Africa. You know, companies are thinking about moving to the United States and
02:07having a North American headquarters and Atlanta is so ready. And for Andre to see like we are
02:14voted number one, how we're going to come off, it's going to be awesome. And you and I, listen,
02:18we don't, we're not jaded. We're not cynical. You can get that other shows, right? You can shake
02:25your, you know, shake your fist at the world and everything's sarcastic. And why do you get so
02:29excited? Sandra and I get excited. We've been here a long time. We get excited.
02:33I'm proud. I'm proud of our city. I really am. Even the Europeans that are here and doing all
02:37the Twitters. I told you yesterday, it's such a breath of fresh air and you, you know, you do hear
02:42all the negative noise. And I was like, wait a minute. I love Atlanta. I love the South.
02:45Or they just are like, oh, you guys get so excited.
02:47I love Buc-ee's.
02:48Yeah.
02:48Don't make me hate Buc-ee's.
02:49Well, listen, I can, I can, I can tell you everything wrong with Atlanta, but I can tell you
02:52a thousand things right about it and we're about to see it.
02:55Yeah.
02:55And I'll tell you this, when we host Super Bowl, when downtown is officially done, when everything's
03:02open in Centennial Yards, everything is open South of downtown where David Cumming, the
03:06developer is building all these restaurants. When CNN center is booming, the center, like
03:12people are going to lose their mind. And I think they're renovating some of those big
03:17old convention hotels downtown. Cause that's the next step you have to do. Those are old.
03:20Another cool moment that people have got, my point is people are going to say this is
03:24the best Super Bowl town right up there with new Orleans. Good. And what's the other one
03:28people would say? Miami. San Diego is pretty great.
03:30San Diego is a great, yeah. Cause you can walk to the stadium, I believe.
03:33Yeah. So yesterday on social media, they showed, uh, Uzbekistan at Atlanta United's facility.
03:39And when I tell you they're losing their mind and I thought of Arthur Blank immediately
03:43cause Brad Guzan, my best friend, when I was up there doing his podcast and they did,
03:48they gave me a whole tour and I just thought this is an MLS facility. So I did ask them,
03:55I go,
03:55is this like every other MLS facility? And they're like, Oh no, no, no. What Arthur Blank has
04:00done here with the million fields and they are pristine. So Uzbekistan for them to walk in and
04:06look around and be like, Oh, so I was again, another prideful moment. Like that would be like
04:12a headline. And I, you know, I, we had, we had a business in St. Louis. I spent a lot
04:16of time
04:16there. If they got the USA soccer headquarters and built out what they built, it'd be the biggest
04:20story in that city. In this city, it's almost like one of a million things happening with
04:24construction and growth. And you know, we're trying to build an arena for hockey and Oh
04:28yeah, we got the USA soccer. And Oh yeah, we got, you know, uh, this is, and this is separate.
04:33I'm glad you brought that up because the one trilogy is a complete different thing.
04:36Trillis, excuse me, is completely different than I'm talking about the Atlanta United
04:39facility in Marietta. And yeah, I forgot even about that. Like the US men's teams lost their
04:45mind. You see the headquarters and the tour of that anyways. Yeah. Exciting stuff.
04:50Where did you go? Why were you tardy to the party just now? Yeah. I didn't have the
04:54proper headphones. I need the right headphones, the right pen and the coffee. All right. I
04:57just, the listeners and I were worried. I was concerned. I was concerned. I told everybody
05:02somebody want to get him cause we have a little show here. We got to talk to the NBA and
05:06I don't
05:06think people are ready for my take on it. Well, they do turn to Sandra for in-depth basketball
05:12knowledge. No doubt. Hey, um, listen, the, the comeback is of epic proportion. It kind of
05:22is the exclamation point for the team that will most likely be the most beloved Knicks
05:28team of all time. Obviously, you know, you had the down to one to the Hawks mauling next
05:35three games. Then you had the comeback in game one against the Cavs when you're down by 20
05:41in the, in the, sorry, that was second series. Don't even remember. They, they beat the Sixers
05:46in the second series, which was an absolute, just, you know, uh, beheading of Philadelphia.
05:52It was adorable. Then you have the Cleveland comeback in game one where you're a little
05:55flat. You're down by 20. You come back and beat the Cavs and you smoke them three in a
05:59row. Then you have the game two moment where Wemby throws it away and they had that and
06:04you're kind of like, okay, they've had their moments. Well now, now they have their, you
06:09know, coup de grace, their exclamation point, their 29 point comeback. They're a tip in
06:14by Ananobi who is going to be that, that will be, there's no question. There will be
06:19a statue just like there is in new Orleans of Steve Gleason blocking the kick, right?
06:25Uh, the punt, they have that outside, right? The stadium, uh, bow in new Orleans, they
06:30will have the same one for the Ananobi tip. It'll show his, his fingers on it and I'll
06:35have guys underneath them and he'll tip it in. If they win the title, there will, there
06:40will forever be, which is so crazy about watching sports. It's like, you're sitting
06:44there like, you know, 1115 on a, on a Wednesday night and you're like, oh, that's
06:50the most iconic moment in the history of the New York Knicks. Like, look at that
06:52just happened. There will be a statue outside of the Ananobi tip. If they win
06:57it, that will be the play everybody remembers. And for the rest of his life,
07:01he will sign, he will be signing and making millions the rest of his life
07:06because there'll be a picture of him in the air and there'll be Nick fans that
07:10will have prints and portraits and photos and he'll sign them and he can sign them
07:15starting when the series ends till the cows come home. Right? For 50 years. David Tyree
07:20signing that. Yeah. Forever and ever. Right. Yeah. And this is even bigger than that
07:24because of who Ananobi is. Here's the head coach of the Spurs. I don't know that it's
07:28bigger than that because that's a Super Bowl. I don't, I don't, this is literally
07:32day four. The only thing I would say is David Tyree is such a scrub. Oh, I see what you
07:36mean.
07:36I mean, he's like literally, I mean, maybe I say that. I mean, like that's what made it crazy.
07:40He's out of the league in a year. He's like, he's not, he's not. But the Super Bowl moment,
07:45I mean, you're right. They're both big moments. I know you don't like to brag on Patriots at all.
07:50So I just wanted to turn it around. Stop being so negative on the team. Ananobi is going to be
07:54MVP of the series also, I think. So there'll be more reason. I like him. He seems very humble and
07:59sweet. His teammates like him. Hey, here's Mitch Johnson, Spurs coach. I don't know how you
08:05process this one. I mean, honestly, it's tough. We felt the momentum too much to overcome. I
08:10didn't feel that until the clock hit zeros. I mean, there was times where, again, I felt
08:16part of that third quarter and then some part probably early, mid, the fourth quarter again,
08:21where we just, we got away from playing to Brandon basketball, got us the lead. And then you saw the,
08:27at times, aggressiveness and the just conviction that we played with early on dissipate a little bit
08:33and they made some shots. And that's where you felt the momentum a little bit. We just needed a few
08:37more tough minded plays to finish the job. Yeah. Okay.
