From Kansas up to Wisconsin, severe storms continued causing problems as evening arrived after multiple already-reported tornadoes.
Transcript
00:00We're in the middle of a severe weather outbreak from Missouri across eastern Iowa pushing into Illinois.
00:06We just intercepted a rain-wrapped tornado just to the north of Lancaster, Missouri.
00:10Now we are targeting a pair of supercells to the southwest of Kirksville, Missouri.
00:15The low-level jet is increasing. That means that the low-level wind shear is increasing as well
00:19as we are arriving at the magic hour during evening when the low-level wind shear ramps up
00:24and that is the perfect window for strong plus tornadoes.
00:28It all depends on if those storms can remain isolated or remain supercell storms
00:33and as that low-level jet increases, there's likely going to be a window of a significant tornado or two
00:38across northern Missouri with this pair of supercells a little bit to the southwest.
00:43The other tornado producers have crossed into the stable air
00:45and the tornado threat may be a little bit less with those for now,
00:49but we are about to drop to the southwest with those supercells that have clean inflow,
00:53clean access to the low-level jet, and we will likely have another tornado intercept out there.
00:58Continue to stay tuned to those severe weather watches and warnings across this risk area
01:04from northeastern Kansas all the way up through Wisconsin.
