00:00Obviously, this Brandon Iyuk stuff just continues to circle, won't go away.
00:06This is the statement, video, whatever you want to call it,
00:09that Iyuk put out over the weekend where he kind of made clear
00:14that he's ready for Sam Fran to move forward and just release him.
00:20Here's Brandon Iyuk in his own words.
00:22We're dealing with, you know, like them kids
00:26and they don't get picked for the basketball game at the court.
00:31But they're the ones that brought the ball.
00:33So they're like, all right, you don't want to pick me?
00:36I'm taking my ball.
00:38I'm going home.
00:40Ass boys, little ass boys.
00:43Or like when your kid, he got this one toy,
00:48but he don't really know how to use it correctly.
00:52So somebody else about to pick it up and play with it.
00:55And they're like, oh, yeah, this lady.
00:58And they're like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, hold on.
01:00That's my toy.
01:01Ass boy.
01:03Little ass boy.
01:04Man, stop running from the belt.
01:06The belt coming.
01:09You scared.
01:10They scared.
01:10The truth is they scared.
01:12They know how I get.
01:13They're going to say, oh, yeah, B.A.
01:16B.A.
01:17B.A. did this.
01:18B.A. did that.
01:20B.A. did.
01:20You know that allegedly, allegedly, but what they're not going to say is B.A. suck at football
01:30because they know how I get.
01:34And they're running from that belt that's on the way.
01:37It's inevitable.
01:37It's coming.
01:39Stop running.
01:40Stop being a female dog.
01:42Stop being a female dog.
01:44Stop being a little cat.
01:46Stop being a little cat.
01:49Stop running from the belt.
01:52Stop running from the belt.
01:54There's real intentionality with this video because it had those edits in there.
01:59That's not Jeff slowing the words down and repeating them.
02:02That's Brandon Aiyuk editing that video for effect, I assume.
02:09And that's fine.
02:11He is now intentionally telling the world his side of the story or at least some version of events
02:16and making clear he wants to be out of there.
02:19It's obvious where he wants to go, which is right here in Ashburn, Virginia with the commanders.
02:25But he uses the word inevitability.
02:28And the only problem with his use of that word, it's only inevitable if he makes it so.
02:37Like, one of the biggest problems throughout this process is he won't show up.
02:42He's got to go.
02:44I don't think enough people realize the reserve left squad list is a complete loophole organizations have in their back
02:52pocket.
02:52They're going to screw you with that.
02:54It's what this organization did to Trent Williams many years ago.
02:57There's a left squad list.
02:59Sometimes there's the commissioner's exempt list when a player – like, there is more to roster machinations than necessarily everybody
03:07understands.
03:08And until he shows up and forces the issue, they're just going to leave him there, and they don't have
03:13to pay him.
03:14Yeah.
03:15So, like, it's on him.
03:16And I had someone asked me yesterday saying, when he canceled minicamp, what is he going to show up to?
03:21Training camp.
03:22Start showing up to the building.
03:24Guys over there working out, right?
03:26Sure.
03:26I'm sure there are.
03:27So, you start showing up.
03:30Well, you show up and your car don't work.
03:32Now they can't use that damn – they have to exempt – you know, he left the hood car.
03:37Because you have to allow him to come back.
03:39Totally.
03:39And then you start showing up every damn day.
03:42They will have to let you go.
03:43So, it's not just about minicamp and OTA.
03:47The building is open for business.
03:49You're right.
03:49And you can show up to that building at any time you want.
03:53You're absolutely right.
03:54Like, you know, in all season when nobody's supposed to be over here, which I think is the dumbest thing
03:59in the world,
04:00your job is playing football.
04:01Your body's your tool.
04:02But you can't come in here and help yourself work out.
04:04Some guys want to work out all year.
04:06But the moment they open it up, prior to training – I mean, after – when OTAs are starting,
04:12it is open all the way through the next time they close it again right after Super Bowl time.
04:17Right.
04:18He could certainly show up.
04:20And it is worth pointing out that we have no idea that he said, she said of all this, right?
04:26Like, whatever happened behind the scenes, it clearly went nuclear.
04:31All right.
04:32But a lot of this started, at least part of it, Iuke did not show up for mandatory injury check
04:40-ins.
04:41He wanted to do rehab on his own.
04:42Plenty of guys do that.
04:43But then you've got to come in and check in with the team.
04:46And he didn't do that.
04:47And that's how they were able to avoid the guarantees and stuff.
04:49Hey, and if it's in your contract, you do it.
04:54Right.
04:54Because if it's going to take your money, you don't not show up for that type of stuff.
04:59And I hear so many people saying, maybe he just didn't – you know, he got enough money,
05:04he just didn't want to play.
05:08People always say that.
05:10And my question directly to them, would you walk away from it?
05:13Would you not want your money back?
05:15If they told you, you just got to show up and let us check you out, would you give away
05:1920-something,
05:2030 million dollars by not showing up?
05:23We know some really wealthy people.
05:26And –
05:26I don't ever see them saying they don't want no more money.
05:29Like –
05:29They're trying to get more.
05:30The people I know that are really wealthy have generally, like, sold companies.
05:35Yeah.
05:36And you know what they do after whatever the terms are of the contract?
05:39They start a new one.
05:41Yeah.
05:42Like, the notion that a 27-year-old – even though he has outrageous sums of money,
05:49you probably have outrageous bills.
05:51Like, it's just – the thought of, like, oh, I'm good, I don't have to play for you,
05:55that's different.
05:56Clearly something happened that you no longer want to give.
05:59But I will still be trying to get whatever I can.
06:02Yeah.
06:03Because it's mine.
06:05If it was signed, it's mine.
06:06I'm going to do what I need to do to get that.
06:08Now, here is – I would say this is the most – most official reporting of the IUK situation we've
06:16seen.
06:16This is NFL Network Ian Rappaport last night talking about this Brandon-IUK situation.
06:23I mean, I think we'd all like to avoid some similar IG messaging from Brandon-IUK.
06:29We'd rather this situation be settled rather than have this drag on through the summer.
06:32But that's the way I see this going on.
06:34First of all, here's what the San Francisco 49ers would like.
06:38They have his rights.
06:39He's not doing any guaranteed money because he forfeited that by not showing up to his rehab.
06:43So they would like to trade him probably to the commanders with his old friend Jaden Daniels
06:48and an organization that obviously knows him well considering Adam Peters was in San Francisco.
06:53And all of that.
06:54What the commanders would like to do is sign him without having to trade him.
06:58So, Tom, we're in a situation where nobody wants to move at all.
07:02They're all staring at each other.
07:04There's really no deadline to make a move at all.
07:07So until and unless everyone gets tired of Brandon-IUK sending Instagram messages,
07:12this is going to be a storyline that takes us through the summer.
07:16And see, that's the one thing I caution this team with is you know they're letting him go.
07:28But they're trying to force you to give up something.
07:32If there's any way I can get a message to them, I'm like, look, show up.
07:37Go over there.
07:39If you stay home and you can put all the cryptic messages you want,
07:42they don't have to move on none of that.
07:45When they start seeing your ass every day, they have to move.
07:49When you're inside a locker room talking to other folks, they don't want that.
07:53See, they can say and do what they want.
07:56There are guys on that team that still like Brandon-IUK.
07:59There are guys that may side with the team.
08:01There are guys that are down the middle.
08:03You know what I mean?
08:04George Kittle, after he got injured, said that IU texted him, and it meant a lot.
08:09That's what I'm saying.
08:10So you stay away.
08:13You're playing into their hands.
08:15And I understand sometimes you get so pissed off you don't want to see nobody.
08:19But if you seeing them and being around them is going to allow you to get where you want to
08:23go
08:23and do the things you want to do, you damn well better be doing it.
08:28Does this feel inevitable to you?
08:32I think it does until it's not.
08:36Because eventually this team is going to have to stop being a part of this damn game.
08:44Eventually they're going to have to start focusing on what is in your best control,
08:49what is right there in front of you where you can get some people moving and move forward.
08:53You can't keep waiting.
08:55Because if he doesn't do something, the 49ers don't have to do anything.
09:01That's why I question.
09:03So they are, right now they are at the beck and call of two different entities,
09:10Brandon and the 49ers.
09:14And do you want to be at the beck and call of any player?
09:19What?
09:20You know what I mean?
09:21Like, it is a peculiar spot because you want to add good players.
09:28You want a guy that went for 1,300 yards three years ago.
09:32But like, is he calling too many shots to pull this off?
09:41I just, I wonder if you're Dan Quinn and it's brotherhood and culture and all this,
09:47understanding that NFL players understand the way of the world, right?
09:51But it just, I want to open the phone lines up.
09:55800-636-1067.
09:57800-636-1067.
10:00Is Brandon Ayuk arriving in Washington inevitable?
10:03Like he suggests.
10:05Get the belt out.
10:06It's inevitable.
10:06I just, I think it feels very much like it's going to happen.
10:13But I just think we have to allow, throughout this situation, there have been wild cards.
10:19There has been unexpected twists and turns in this movie.
10:23So I struggle to say anything is inevitable in that there's certainty it will occur.
