00:00Speaking of the finals, Clint, as we lead into it, the Knicks, they are up 2-0, and they are
00:05heading home, and that place is going to be a madhouse.
00:10Many people who have lived in New York their whole lives, have covered the Knicks, expect that this is going
00:16to be a scene that hasn't been seen a lot in Madison Square Garden, outside of Madison Square Garden.
00:23The president is going to be in attendance, so there's going to be more security around the city.
00:31The city has been buzzing, really, since they ended the series against the Cavs, since they ended that, and knew
00:43they were going to be in the finals, and now they're up 2-0.
00:45Everybody has been excited about this, but they're up 2-0, and overall, two teams that have gone up 2
00:53-0, no matter where it's been, there have been 37 of those series where a team has gone up 2
01:00-0, and those teams are 32-5 that have gone up 2-0, over 86% success rate in that
01:11case.
01:11So, generally, you go up 2-0, generally, you win the series, and it's even better when you go up
01:182-0, going back home, those teams, that scenario.
01:23Do you think this is over, 7-1-3-5-7-2-4-6-10, do you think the Knicks
01:28are going to be world champions, it's just a matter of time?
01:32I do have a vibe that the Knicks are going to, just my opinion, that the Knicks are going to
01:37win this thing, and right now are just in a better spot, playing better ball, more together.
01:43However, I do not believe this thing is over by any stretch of the imagination.
01:48I think this is a must-win game for the Spurs.
01:53I think you've got to get back in it, you've got to steal a game at their place after giving
01:57up 2-0 at yours.
01:59I think if you're the Spurs, you are highly disappointed that you're sitting at 0-2, you don't feel like
02:04you've been beating two straight games,
02:06you feel like you gave a couple of games away here to start the biggest series of the season, and
02:11so your confidence has to be there.
02:13You still haven't got a good to great game out of your superstar, and so I think there's a lot
02:20of reason for the Spurs to be confident,
02:23I still think the Spurs are probably the better team, in my opinion, based on what we've seen all, you
02:31know, what I've seen all the playoffs long.
02:34Certainly what people thought coming into it.
02:36Yeah, so look, I think there's still a chance.
02:40I have swung to where I think the Knicks end up winning this thing, but right now, game three, it's
02:48a must-win for the Spurs.
02:49If you want to give yourself any chance at all, you cannot go down 0-3, obviously.
02:55Yeah, you said it.
02:56I think this game tonight, obviously, is going to make or break the series.
03:01I don't think that they're going to lose tonight and then do something that hasn't been done in NBA history,
03:08and that is, in any series, be down 3-0 and come back and win it.
03:12All right, I know we were thinking the Rockets might have a chance to pull that off earlier against the
03:16Lakers.
03:16I definitely don't think that they would beat the Knicks four times in a row, and they are a really
03:23good team.
03:25But it is tonight, and you've watched these games, and if you're a Spurs fan, you can look at this
03:32and say,
03:33we have had control of this damn thing.
03:36They've had double-digit leads in both of these games, in the middle part of the game,
03:41giving it up on a run by the Knicks, and then, in some form, taking the lead back late.
03:50And they have.
03:50They've had the lead late in both of these games, and then the Knicks made plays,
03:56or they didn't make plays in-game.
03:58Game one, Brunson hit a couple of shots.
04:01He had a big three in the corner and then hit another jumper.
04:04And then in this game, as they were making a run to get back in this thing,
04:11I think they scored, what, 14 unanswered?
04:13And they get the stop, and Wimby throws the ball into Castle's back, a miscommunication there,
04:19and then he compounds it by fouling Brunson, and really that put, obviously, New York in front to hold on.
04:28But I do think if they win this game, we feel a lot different about this series.
04:35Well, they're right back in it at that point, but you've got to –
04:38But I just – like, obviously, you feel different, but – because this hasn't been a,
04:43all right, hey, man, this is the game three where the Spurs are just going to give everything they've got,
04:48and then they're done.
04:49No, we've watched these games, and the Spurs could easily be up 2-0 in this.
04:55It could easily be up 2-0.
04:57And if you watch – if they win this game, then it will be like, all right, hey,
05:02the Spurs were up 14 in the third quarter in game one.
05:06The Spurs were up 14 in the second quarter.
05:08And Carl Anthony Towns didn't score in the fourth quarter in this last game,
05:12and Brunson has shot the ball terribly.
05:14So that means their perimeter defense gives him problems.
05:18You could see us feeling a lot different about this series if they win this game.
05:23Now, I'm with you.
05:24If they come out and lose, this thing is curtains.
05:27Absolutely curtains.
05:28Well, you get this thing to 2-1 in the rest of the series.
05:32You've got two more games at your place.
05:34All you've got to do is steal one.
05:37All you've got to do is steal one more from them along the rest of the way.
05:42So, I don't know, man.
05:43You feel like that's a mountain that you can climb.
05:45Boy, if you fall to 0-3, as you mentioned, the mountain that nobody's ever climbed,
05:50that'd be –
05:51Two things for me tonight is, one, I wonder who is more affected by the atmosphere tonight.
06:01Because I think the Knicks have – I think there's some pressure on the Knicks right now.
06:07They're up 2-0.
06:09I think a lot of people are starting to have expectations.
06:12A lot of people can start to feel what is happening.
06:16Man, I heard somebody say – today I heard them say,
06:18Carl Anthony Towns, they win this championship.
06:23Like, he's going to be a Hall of Famer.
06:25Like, I mean, it is like the pressure and the stuff that's being put on.
06:29Obviously, the Knicks have not won a championship in the 70s.
06:32This is a huge, huge deal.
06:35And or, how do the Spurs, this young team, go into Madison Square Garden
06:41and you look up and Spike is there and Tracy Morgan is there
06:45and Ben Stiller is there and maybe some of them don't know who Ben Stiller is.
06:48Lenny Kravitz.
06:48Lenny Kravitz is there.
06:50I didn't know Lenny was a big Knicks fan.
06:51He's just out there, just going to the place to be.
06:54He dipped smooth into that one spot, didn't he?
06:57Yeah, just going to the place to be.
06:58He came in with the old peace sign, I think.
07:01I mean, yeah.
07:02Jay and Beyonce may have been there.
07:03I know he's a Brooklyn guy, but, you know, they may show you.
07:05You never know.
07:06Denzel might get himself out there.
07:07You get down there, how do they respond to this?
07:10And, by the way, I talked about it earlier and I did.
07:13Some people called us off.
07:14I do think with the move to New York, I think Jalen Brunson is probably going to get some
07:24of those calls that he hasn't been getting.
07:26I think some of the physical play on the perimeter may get shifted a bit for the Spurs.
07:34And Castle and those guards got to look at that and figure that out because they've gotten –
07:41I do think they've gotten the whistle they've needed.
07:44They've been allowed to be extremely physical on the perimeter, especially with Brunson.
07:50Naturally, at times, when you switch to home and you're in that environment,
07:54the home team seems to get, you know, potentially a better whistle.
07:58So that is something to look at, too, for the Spurs.
08:02Somebody texted in, I can't believe I'm saying this, but Towns is the difference maker.
08:06He keeps playing the way he is and keeps hitting shots like he's unconscious.
08:13Spurs don't have a chance.
08:16It doesn't matter what Wimby does.
08:17No.
08:18Yeah, he's outplayed Wimby.
08:20That's been the part that's been crazy is I don't think anybody walked into the series
08:24thinking that Carl Anthony Towns would get the better of the center match.
08:27Well, I mean, he has.
08:28I mean, he has, and I like Kat.
