Tropical Storm Boris is expected to bring gusty winds, flooding rainfall and mudslides across the Pacific Coast of southeastern Mexico throughout the beginning of this week.
Transcript
00:00It's a tropical storm. Maximum stay winds 40 miles per hour. So it's south and east of Acapulco.
00:05It is moving to the northeast very slowly at about two miles per hour. That's going to be a
00:10problem. Eventually it's going to be, let me show you the AccuWeather eyepath here. So we're going
00:14to be taking Boris in the Mexico later today as a tropical storm. I don't think the winds are going
00:21to be the problem. The problem is going to be the flooding rain because it is slow moving here.
00:27There could be some mudslides here. No doubt about that. Flooding rain. Certainly some gusty
00:33winds as well. Now we're going to keep an eye on the Atlantic this time of the year. Where do
00:38you
00:38look in close to the United States? These are the areas that we typically look for development. We
00:44don't get a lot during June in the early July, but we typically get a storm or two. We talked
00:50about
00:50this area last week. We do have bores. We talked about there is some moisture down in here and
00:55there's a big dip in the jet stream, not big, but a strong enough dip in the jet stream gets
00:59across
01:00the central part of the United States. Some of that tropical moisture will get up into the Bay of
01:04Campeche. I still think it is unlikely we get development, but if we do, that's an area to watch
01:11and it'll be late in the upcoming weekend here. So we'll keep an eye on it.
