00:00How about this? Would your dad have had a problem on paying student athletes?
00:05Because a lot of the old school coaches, I think Nick Saban,
00:08one of the reasons that he left the game was because I think he had an issue
00:12with it maybe paying these kids because the genie's out of the bottle now, Jay.
00:17Do you think your pop would have had a problem with it?
00:19No, I mean, he was always an advocate that student athletes should get a stipend
00:25or some, you know, cost of attendance money, all that kind of stuff.
00:28Now, to where we are now, you know, when you start talking about the Big Ten
00:33brings in $1.1 billion a year in media revenue, you know, he would have looked at it and said,
00:40hey, let's not pretend anymore.
00:42Let's make sure that we understand that, you know, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto.
00:48This is a different world that we're living in because the money's gotten so big.
00:51And he would have been realistic about it.
00:52And I think that's where we have to get to now.
00:56And guys like seeing Saban testify on Capitol Hill, I thought was really good
01:00because he stated the obvious from someone who commands a ton of respect.
