00:00Zavian Thomas had a nice play yesterday, Grody, and just looking at him run, I think he's
00:05going to be more than just the gadget guy, right?
00:08So I see the Bears draft this guy, I look up the stats, look up some film, I go, okay,
00:13this guy's probably going to be a gadget guy, he's going to catch some screens, maybe in
00:16the backfield, but he's a solid route runner.
00:19He's got really good ball skills, and I think he's got to work on the route tree.
00:23Some of his routes I don't think married up perfectly with what they're trying to do,
00:26what you would expect from a rookie, but he is a guy, usually these speedsters, I feel
00:31like they don't have the natural hands, and that's the only way you can explain the natural
00:35catching ability, like Bayless Jones, and this guy does.
00:39He's a guy that transitions really quick from catch to run, that's what you want to see from
00:43these speedsters too, because every second, every half a second, millisecond counts when
00:48you're doing these quick set hut, throw it out to the slot, or throw it out to the X,
00:53and you block, every second matters there, and he's a guy that did impress me with his
00:57ball skills, and his speed and quicks, I think he can be a real receiver.
01:01Well, and that's saying something, because he talks about having been a running back growing
01:06up, and how that was the innate position for him, and how he transitioned, and I think
01:10that's just common when you're that fast, that makes sense, you're going to touch more
01:14of the offense that way in high school football in Louisiana, so the guy's used to having some
01:19versatility, you can tell, he also seems to enjoy running, like he kind of talks about
01:23that.
01:24He's like in fast forward, man, like his moves are so quick, and I know obviously
01:28Antoine Randall-El's working with him there.
