00:00Feels like what, Joe? A decade ago, a young, bright, superstar, wide receiver from LSU
00:05bursted onto the scene in the biggest city in the United States, New York City.
00:10That was Odell Beckham Jr., and he was something to watch.
00:13Even though the Giants weren't a very good football team.
00:15And over the years, putting up stats, putting up numbers, highlight reels,
00:18then all of a sudden, he wasn't compatible in New York anymore and was shipped off to Cleveland.
00:22Then he resurfaced in L.A. and was having a very good Super Bowl and tore his knee,
00:28never to be heard from again.
00:29But wait, who'll go back with Lamar and it'll be fantastic until he's getting like three snaps a game
00:34and he was just those, hey, remember the days when Odell was good?
00:37Then we heard, Joe, that he was heading or possibly back to the New York Giants,
00:41and he chased around that organization begging at every single turn for a chance to play for them.
00:46And I joked the other day on Twitter that I actually think that Odell Beckham Jr.
00:50paid the Giants like a fantasy camp for aging, you know, males in their 30s and 40s
00:55to be around older superstars and feel like they can actually play the game again.
00:59Let's hear from Odell Beckham Jr. heading back to the Giants.
01:02For me, my whole life, for better or for worse, is pushing it to the limit.
01:06And just the way that I had to walk away, it was just unsettling in my soul and my spirit.
01:13It's not who I am.
01:15I've never surrendered or quit or felt like I'd given up on myself or anything.
01:23And it just wasn't sitting with me well.
01:26So I have to do this.
01:29This is for myself.
01:30This is for my son.
01:32I want to lead by example.
01:32I want him to be able to see who I am, you know, not like who I was.
01:37And just know that, you know, we never give up in our house, you know.
01:42And you go after what you believe in.
01:44You believe in yourself.
01:47And at the end of the day, God will take care of the rest.
01:50Credit him for working hard and trying to come back, but he can't play anymore.
01:54And honestly, I'd be shocked if he made the opening roster as opposed to just throwing the fan a bone
01:58so we can sell some jerseys and bring back the nostalgia.
02:01He's absolutely cooked, Joe.
02:04Well, and listen, Donnie, here's what we know about the NFL, right?
02:08These kinds of things are nice in June.
02:11But if he can't legit help this team win football games come August, he won't be on the team, Donnie.
02:19We know that.
02:20You know, they will not be carrying a roster spot for Hotel Beckham Jr.
02:25for nostalgia purposes.
02:27He either earns it or he doesn't.
02:29It's the one thing we can count on in the NFL.
02:33You don't occupy a roster spot unless you can still play.
