00:37but we thought that they were going to be much better than they were and then you look back to
00:42the month of may and you're like that it makes you even more mad six and 22 you're already mad

00:48and then this is what you have and you love the response you love the fact that they're winning
00:53but where was it for the entire month of may you're so frustrated because you dug yourself
00:59such a big hole and it didn't have to be that way as a tigers fan are you more annoyed

01:05by this win streak to start the month of june well i mean i'm i'm more excited okay because
01:12i want them to creep back into it no one's going to sit there and say they're going to go

01:17game heater and be back to within eight games or you know when are you going to buy back in
01:24are they do they have to be within five games of they're what six of the wild card right now
01:28and maybe you're looking at the wild card which is way too early in june to be looking at wild

01:33standings but do they have to be within three of the wild card two or even if the wild card

01:41all-star break i think in answering that question i would ask a question what do they have to do

04:08wild card right now which is two below what it typically takes 86 is what they had in 2024 when
04:14they came all the way back and found a way in the last wild card right now is one game
04:18under 500 and
04:19it's the athletics battle i i look at it this way the tigers are playing not against the wild card
04:28standings right now they're playing against trying to get closer to 500 right they're 13 back of 500
04:32and i kind of sent the bar yesterday i think what i say six at the end of june if
04:36they can be within
04:36six under 500 at the end of june i think you can give this a realistic chance and the emergence

04:41melton i mean that's a game changer if he has a pitch like yesterday and go that many innings
04:48but if he's just good right wow but he was important he started a playoff game last year
04:54yeah uh but then you you know you look at the numbers and you say well they were six and

05:01do you think that they're going to be i don't know exactly how many games they play in in uh
05:06june but
05:0720 and eight like to get back to that level that's what they've got to do and i don't i

05:28like they'd have to go and do something radical they'd have to do something miraculous and then
05:32and there's always going to be this individual and i'm it's not me right now but what's best for
05:38the organization right what's best for the organization is is it to just get back to 500 and
05:44make the postseason with 84 wins and then lose scoobal yeah or is the best thing for the
05:50organization to say you know what hey we want you guys to to play like you did the last couple
05:56of
05:56days and but you dug yourself such a big hole we still want you to sell scoobal and get what

06:06can for him so that next year or two years from now hopefully for amber valdez does finds his old
06:14mojo and kenley jansen finds his old mojo and like i mean there's a lot of hopes but the hope
06:23is that
06:23you get enough back that you become a better team next year and even the year after if there's a
06:29bidding war in a king's ransom you'd be foolish to turn it down to chase 84 wins right i mean

06:35ultimately what we're talking about all right let's paint it out here so 84 wins and you get in
06:39you're the last wild card so you're playing the worst division champ let's say it's claveland again
06:44and you're going to best two out of three with this staff if they if they surge like that and
06:49play
06:49that way the staff is pitching well yes the theory it's stable with them you win that series and get
06:53yourself into a best of five again with this staff and then mcgonagall is in the lineup unlike
06:58last okay so is it worth it to make the alcs or trade scoobal what's better for the organization
07:06it's such a hard one it's a hard one for me to answer because i'm always of the mindset of
07:12win now do what you can because you have no idea what happens next year we don't even know if
07:17there's
07:17going to be baseball because i i did see that there were some comments um you know the the i

07:23actually on my way up to petoskey i saw the uh owners had made their first proposal with a hard

07:31yeah and but also a hard floor yes and so
07:38what does it look like what with that in of context with maybe no baseball in 27 and if there

07:45type of cap moving forward whatever that looks like is there are they positioned best by selling

07:58desperate knowing there couldn't be a lost year coming up take advantage of their desperation get
