00:00So here we are at the Man Made Festival. How long have you been? Have you come to the Isle
00:04of Man before?
00:06We arrived at Tuesday last week. We arrived there and we stay until Saturday and it's the third time for
00:16me on Isle of Man.
00:17Two years ago I was also here.
00:21What about you?
00:22Yeah, I'm always at the same time like him and it's also my third time here.
00:30What do you like about the Isle of Man? Is it just the TT that brings you here?
00:34Yeah, of course the TT. It's a special feeling, special atmosphere and it's a wonderful island.
00:41I think some friend of me told me Isle of Man is like Little Britain.
00:46You have mountains like the Highlands, you have areas like Kent. I like it, wonderful.
00:56Would you ever move here?
00:58Once again move? Yes, of course. If time and money works, I will come back.
01:05What about you?
01:06Yeah, I'll come back next year.
01:08You'll come back next year. And then final question then, what is your favourite part of the Isle of Man?
01:13The favourite part?
01:15It's difficult.
01:16It's very difficult.
01:18We looked at the race at Brandenkirch. It's a nice place there and it's all over.
01:26You have to need to find a space for sitting. It's also always full.
01:34But it's always good here.
01:37Yeah.
01:38And especially when I could say this, I'm fascinated about the people who live here.
01:44Yeah.
01:44They accept the...
01:46I mean, what do you call it?
01:46The restrictions?
01:48Yeah.
01:48All the problems with the traffic.
01:50They can't go out.
01:52The road is closed.
01:53And so...
01:54A lot of...
01:56It's a lot of difficult for the people.
01:59So...
01:59In Germany it's no chance.
02:02No chance to do that in Germany.
02:03The people would say, oh no, no, too loud, too busy.
02:07Too dangerous.
02:09But we accept it, don't we?
02:11Yes.
02:11Great people, Isle of Man.
02:13So here we are with Liz.
02:14And where are you from, Liz?
02:16Peterborough, Cambridgeshire.
02:17And is this your first TT that you've came to?
02:19No.
02:20How many have you been to?
02:22Every year since 92.
02:23Really?
02:24Yes.
02:24Oh my goodness.
02:25What is it that keeps bringing you back and keeps attracting you to it?
02:30Erm...
02:30Just the magic.
02:31The racing.
02:33The riding around the island.
02:35Seeing all the scenery and things to do.
02:39I mean...
02:39It just hooks you.
02:40You can't let go.
02:41I mean, you've obviously been coming here for a number of years now.
02:44What was your favourite place on the island?
02:49Erm...
02:49To watch the racing, you mean?
02:51Erm...
02:51We like honker trees.
02:53Yeah.
02:53Milntown, that's good.
02:54You like it there?
02:55Yes.
02:56Yes.
02:56Would you ever move to the Isle of Man?
02:59Erm...
03:00Or just keep it as a little holiday destination?
03:02I think if we moved here, we'd lose the magic.
03:04It's nice to come as a treat.
03:07Yeah.
03:07Yes.
03:07How long have you been coming over to the TT's?
03:10This is your first time?
03:11Since 1963.
03:12Since 1963?
03:14Yeah.
03:14Wow.
03:15And what part of the island do you like the most?
03:20Hard question.
03:20Every park has its advantages.
03:23Douglas, obviously, because of the night lights and the shops.
03:26Erm...
03:26The big hotels.
03:28But then you look at Portere, which is fantastic.
03:30It's a super ice cream shop.
03:32Erm...
03:33Peel.
03:34Over on the...
03:35The harbour.
03:36The far side where the fishing boat go.
03:37You will get the best crab savages in the world ever.
03:40And then you look at the very, the rough coastline.
03:44You go down to the car tour, just to the sound.
03:46But you look out until you see the seals and other...
03:49If you're lucky, you might see the other basking share.
03:52Erm...
03:52Dolphins, of course.
03:54Erm...
03:54And it's just...
03:55Everywhere, really, is just fantastic in its own right.
04:00Yeah, everywhere's a bit of you.
04:02Yeah, exactly.
04:03Yes.
04:03Would you ever move here?
04:05I wanted to move here.
04:06My wife's a nurse.
04:07Well, she wasn't a nurse.
04:08We're tired now.
04:09Yeah.
04:09And I wanted to move here a number of years ago.
04:12And it's such a pity she wouldn't come.
04:15Didn't want to leave her mum.
04:16Yeah.
04:16Well, who knows?
04:17Maybe in the future you might.
04:19Erm...
04:19I...
04:20Well, do you.
04:20My children think that...
04:22As it happens to my wife, when I survive her, I'll pack up and move here.
04:25And you'll move here.
04:27Hopefully bring the wife with you.
04:28Well, I come...
04:29I come for the TT.
04:30I come for the Grand Prix.
04:31And sometimes, I've been with family.
04:33It'd be just as a family holiday.
04:34I personally feel, with young children, that there's no...
04:38But, especially at the Suns House.
04:39Mm.
04:39Horse trams.
04:41The electric trams.
04:43Snayfowl.
04:44The steam train.
04:45You've got the cattle, the old horses.
04:47You go up to the wildlife.
04:51And you've got the water-powered, of course, in the Glen.
04:54You've got all the Glens.
04:54Water-powered rides there.
04:56So, it's at Silverdale.
04:57Yeah.
04:58It's just for young children.
05:00I don't think you can find a better place.
05:02No.
05:02It's nice, isn't it?
05:03It is, yeah.
05:03So, is this your first TT?
05:05Yeah, it's my first...
05:06Have you enjoyed it?
05:08Yeah, a lot.
05:09It's really impressive to see the pilot so near of the road.
05:16To feel the air and the sensation of the motorbike.
05:21They get right up close, don't they?
05:23Yes.
05:24Whereabouts on the island have you watched it?
05:29Peel, Ramsey.
05:31At first, we went to Port St. Murray.
05:35And after, we made the travel of the race many times.
05:41We saw the Den Lope statue and we tried to see different things.
05:47And you tried to go all different places.
05:49Yeah.
05:50Would you ever move to the Isle of Man?
05:51I don't know because of the weather, but it's a really great experience.
05:59But there's really a lot of rain and the wind.
06:03I know.
06:04Hopefully, hopefully next time you come, it's a little bit better.
06:08It gets better the weather.
06:09More sunshine.
06:10I hope so.
06:12Because there's the annulation of the race.
06:19We didn't know there's so many changes in the planning, but there's a lot of things to see
06:30while there's not racing.
06:35So you've still been able to do stuff even though the racing might have been cancelled?
06:40Good.
06:40Good.
