00:11I have had the honor as the opposition leader under the Constitution to appoint six senators.
00:21And now that we have a new session of Parliament, my policy from time to time will be to rotate
00:34senators so that on Friday, when the Parliament opens, I propose to make some adjustments.
00:46The opposition leader noted that both the House of Representatives and the Senate shall
00:52be sitting when the Parliament begins its new session on Friday.
00:56And at that time, I will make my announcement.
01:00In making that decision, I have considered many factors.
01:08I have considered the fact that there has been a matter before the Privileges Committee.
01:14And whilst there are those who argued about me taking time, I understand the importance
01:23of the judicial process and justice, natural justice in particular.
01:29The opposition leader did not mention any of the opposition senators.
01:33As a lawyer myself of more than 30 years, I recognize the importance of the right to be
01:40held, so that on Friday, considering all the factors, including the fact that I do have before
01:50me an offer of resignation, together all that has transpired over the last couple of weeks
01:59or months, and my right to rotate from time to time, which is what I will be doing, not just
02:07on Friday, but I also propose to do that over the next couple of years and months.

02:18that natural justice took place, end quote.
