00:00Todd Munkin asked a couple of days ago about Brennan Soresby, and boy, I did not mince words.
00:07When you're telling me that it's not about the talent and it's other things,
00:11but you're getting real personal on this guy who's still trying to get his injunction,
00:15the former Texas Tech and maybe still Texas Tech Red Raider quarterback.
00:19Not at all. I mean, it's not even come across my desk.
00:23I don't think we're in a position to want to go down that road.
00:26That's my opinion. That's not Andrew's. I like the quarterbacks that we have.
00:31I think that's a slippery slope when you go down that, irrespective of talent, right,
00:37in terms of the situation he's put himself in. We all know what that is.
00:42He put himself in that situation.
00:46We've seen in other sports with players that have been banned for life from playing in professional sports.
00:52I think that's a slippery slope to go down that road.
00:54So, again, that's a question for Andrew and for management.
00:57But from my end of it, kind of a tough angle to go down that road
01:03and think that that's going to be your franchise quarterback if he's ever eligible to even play in the NFL.
01:09All right, that's Todd on the issue. Here's Andrew Berry. Does he agree with Todd?
01:15Yeah, we haven't had a supplemental draft in a while, or I guess a couple years now.
01:19No different than we do every year. We'll do the work on all the prospects,
01:22and then we'll make the appropriate decision for the organization.
01:25All right, he kept it quiet. Albert Breer was on afternoon drive yesterday.
01:30Let Albert take a great big wrench and throw it in there.
01:34Some teams view him as a guy who had a chance to go inside the top five in 2027 if
01:39he had a good year at Texas Tech.
01:41He's that sort of talent.
01:42So, like Robin the Browns or anybody else, what I'm doing is I'm sitting down, and I'm watching him,
01:47and I'm comparing him to Fernando Mendoza, and I'm watching him, and I'm comparing him to Dante Moore,
01:52to Arch Manning, to CJ Carr.
01:54I want to know where this kid is versus those other guys, and then I'm determining what I want to
01:59do.
01:59Because if there's a chance to get this guy for, say, a second-round pick, and then you're freed up,
02:04I mean, think about it this way, guys.
02:06What if Brendan Sorsby is Patrick Mahomes?
02:10And I know that's an extreme idea, right?
02:12Or Caleb Williams, because that's the style of player he is.
02:15You get him with a second-round pick.
02:16You know what that does?
02:18If it now frees you up, maybe you get Jeremiah Smith in the first round in 2027,
02:22because you don't need a quarterback anymore.
02:25Or maybe you get one of the pass rushers, like the kid from Texas, Colin Simmons,
02:29or Dylan Stewart from South Carolina.
02:31I mean, the idea that you could take care of a quarterback now,
02:34and you're freed up with all these unbelievable position player prospects, right?
02:39Non-quarterback prospects that are going to be next year's draft.
02:41I think it would be tantalizing to anybody.
02:44So having the opportunity to pull something like that off would be plenty of motivation for me,
02:49if it were me in the seat, to take a really hard look at Brendan Sorsby and see if he's
02:53that good.
02:55I mean, people are talking about Jeremiah Smith here with Brendan Sorsby.
03:00And there's always a catch.
03:03Well, you want to go after him, or what do you want to do?
03:05If he is, if he doesn't get his injunction, which, this is why I'm saying a judge in Texas,
03:10who seems to be a big Texas Tech Red Raider fan, making the decision on Brendan Sorsby here.
03:15So, how good does a quarterback, most important position in sports,
03:20how good does that player need to be, in terms of a prospect,
03:25for you to relax on character things, off-the-field stuff?
03:30You know, we've been through this time and time again.
03:33We've been snake-bitten by it more than most teams.
03:35So I understand the restraint by a lot of fans.
03:39But in general, as a fan in sports, how good does a player need to be for you to waive
03:47a lot of the other stuff?
03:49He's got to be available.
03:50Like, if he gets picked up by anybody in the supplemental draft,
03:54does he or does he not have to have a conversation with Roger Goodell?
03:57Yeah.
03:57He could get suspended, sure.
03:59Robert Breer has also said that.
04:00Like, he could absolutely face suspension.
04:01Does he have to be available this year?
04:02I don't know if he has to be available this year.
04:05Matt thought this would be a redshirt year for him, and everybody would kind of understand that.
04:08I understand that, but we're going to go through an entire season where we're probably not going to win a
04:11lot of games.
04:12We're going to have this guy sitting over here that hopefully he'll be allowed, like, in the facility to work
04:16with everybody,
04:17which is going to throw its own ball issues in there.
04:19Some guys have.
04:20Some guys have been allowed, despite being suspended.
04:22And I would love for him to be able to do so.
04:24But we're going to watch an entire college football season.
04:27How long would he be suspended?
04:28Would we get to see him at all this year?
04:30At all?
04:31I don't think it'd be a full year.
04:33But not a full year.
04:34I'm saying, would you get to see him at all during the season?
04:37I don't know.
04:38Would you want to?
04:39Hell yeah!
04:40I might have a first overall pick or a second or third overall pick here.
04:44I've got to make a decision here.
04:45We're talking about the future of the franchise.
04:47And if the guy shows anything good, then I have to weigh that.
04:50Like, I'm talking about the fans.
04:51The organization is the organization.
04:53But if I see anything good, well, Jeremiah Smith is probably going to be the first non-quarterback off that
04:57board next year.
04:58So you're talking about Brennan Sorsby, if he can get his personal life in order and just, you know, stop
05:04hitting the bets.
05:06Well, if you have him and Jeremiah Smith and Denzel Boston and Casey Concepcion, I mean, we're laughing.
05:12Yeah, obviously.
05:13That just seems way too good to be true.
05:15Forget it.
05:15No, there's no way.
05:16There's a huge part of this that is undetermined for us.
05:21You and I are not doing some sort of independent examination or investigation over this.
05:27But the Browns will be.
05:28The league will be doing this as well.
05:30I know that.
05:30So they're going to be privy to a lot of information.
05:33Like, would it change any of the math to you or any of your thoughts on this player if we
05:41found out, all right, he was...
05:43Remember originally, like, they said it was a...
05:45Hold on.
05:46They said it was a bunch of really small bets at first.
05:50Does that matter to you?
05:51Like, if we're talking a bunch of $5 below bets.
05:53If I go buy a whole bunch of little nips over at the liquor store, a whole bunch of little
05:57nips turns into one big nip.
06:00If I go buy a whole bunch of the airplane bottles, if I drink a whole 10-pack airplane bottles
06:05of the Fireball, that turns into one big drink, doesn't it?
06:08So if I make 40 bets on my own football team, I'm still liable for that.
06:14So it's the same as if he put $10,000 on one bet as if he ended up putting $10
06:18,000 on 40 bets.
06:20So it sounds like you're just saying it's a no across the board no matter what.
06:23Can I trust him?
06:25Right now, we don't even know what he's guilty of.
06:28So I don't know how anybody could answer that with a straight face.
06:31I have a very straight face with you.
06:33You can see it on YouTube right now for free on 92.3 The Fan on YouTube.
06:36Subscribe for free.
06:37Go ahead.
06:37All I know is if the Steelers get him and a year from now we're laughing because he's good and
06:42he looks like Jackson Dart in his first however many games,
06:44I know that I don't want to hear from anybody that, well, this was a bridge too far.
06:49I like your feelings.
06:50Him gambling like basically everybody you know is a bridge too far.
06:55That is the slipperyest, the slippery wizard.
06:56I just don't want to hear it after the fact.
06:58That's all.
06:58So you want him?
06:59Make a case to go get him.
07:00I want an open mind.
07:01Like if Albert is saying their teams view him as a top five quarterback and then I went and looked
07:06and I'm not a scout or anything,
07:08but I looked at the highlight stuff and I know he played bad at the end of the year, which
07:11opened up a lot of questions.
07:12Well, why did he all of a sudden play bad the last four games?
07:15And every time he plays poorly for the Browns when you've passed on that draft class, because let's go under
07:21the assumption that it's going to be a great draft class, right?
07:24Every time he plays poorly for the Browns, we're going to get a call from every Tom, Dick, and Harry
07:27out there wondering whether or not he's on the take.
07:30Sure.
07:31Your own fan base.
07:32I have a lot of degenerate gambling friends who say that about every player who plays bad any time.
07:36Oh, he must be throwing this game.
07:37So you've already traded for – yeah, but they're not fans.
07:40Are they fans of the football team?
07:41Do they think that – I mean, let's be honest here.
07:43Is it – you can say this guy's on the take, that guy's on the take.
07:46You don't actually know.
07:47No, this has been documented here that he has bet on his own football – allegedly bet on his own
07:52football team according to these reports that we've read.
07:55And he's gone to rehab for the gambling.
07:58So if that's all there in that history, it's going to be a question every time.
08:01And if we're going to do this, let's all do it together.
08:03And you're getting ready to move into a brand new building.
08:05So you're telling me over the last 10 years you've traded for a quarterback nobody wants to see.
08:09You've traded away a quarterback that people liked but was immature.
08:12You got rid of the premier player of the franchise, one of the top three players in franchise history.
08:17For another good player, but still you had to do it because you had to do it.
08:19And then when you had an opportunity to take guys who – they aren't all going to be busts out
08:24of that draft class.
08:25So you had an opportunity.
08:26You will have to pass up an opportunity to take a franchise-changing quarterback because one of them are going
08:31to be good.
08:32Okay?
08:33And you might have that chance for a guy that every time he plays poorly, everybody's going to think he's
08:40on the take.
08:41But will you care about that if he's –
08:42He better be Patrick Mahomes and Caleb Williams.
08:44Will you care about that if he's really good?
08:46No.
08:46But he better be really, really, really good.
08:48Can I confirm that he's going to be really good?
08:51Obviously, they're in the business of trying to figure that out and to try to figure out how big of
08:56a deal this is.
08:57Like, is this something that he – and this is all new to a lot of people.
09:00Not gambling.
09:01Not gambling.
09:02Gambling.
09:02But how ubiquitous it is that everybody has it at their fingertips that –
09:07You are right.
09:07Oh, and you have kids.
09:08I agree there.
09:09You have kids that are of high school age.
09:11Correct.
09:11Is this something that you've heard their friends are doing?
09:14Absolutely.
09:15Absolutely.
09:16So we as a society have to reckon with it one way or another.
09:20And this is the first set example.
09:22I know we have Arch Schliester.
09:24But this is the first in contemporary times.
09:27This is just the first big one.
09:29You don't think we're going to get floods of others.
09:31And so I just don't think you can summarily dismiss it and say no because I think this is just
09:37the first.
09:38Oh, it would be very naive of me to sit there.
09:40I'm willing to – I'm willing to bet.
09:42I'm willing to guess that there's – how many players were taking 253?
09:47I'm willing to guess that one of them have bet on sports this last draft.
09:52Why don't you put a bet on it?
09:54Because it would be pretty ironic, wouldn't it?
09:58You guys willing to take that risk on Sorsby?
10:00I mean, because this won't be the last time we talk about a guy who's gambling.
10:03The problem is that the precedent hasn't been set.
10:05Dude, if Josh Gordon would have played five years later, he'd probably have a great NFL career still going.
10:11They changed the rules.
10:12There were other things in there, though.
10:14But, yeah, they did change the rules.
10:15But they changed the CBA.
10:16The things that – he came in already on a list.
10:19In the drug program.
10:20What an athlete, by the way.
10:21And he was already behind the eight ball when it came to that.
10:23Don't use that term.
10:26Tone, come on.
10:27Man, I just wanted to say, like, you're drinking Henny at halftime and before the game and whatever.
10:33And you're still doing that.
10:34And you're still doing that.
10:351,600 yards.
10:35Mixing it with hypnotic.
10:361,600 yards.
10:38A hip and hen is –
10:39Oh, my gosh.
10:42You give some of these guys in here sangria they can't get a sentence out.
10:46I've got to say, imagine Alizé, you probably go 1,800, 1,800.
10:49While we're at it.
10:49You ain't kidding.
10:50While we're at it, I've got to give Johnny Football some credit on that college career.
10:54Here we go.
10:54Knowing what we know now.
10:55Okay, fair enough.
10:55We're all laying our cards out here on the table.
10:57I mean, come on.
10:58I mean, he went out there and he slayed Alabama.
11:01Nick Saban.
11:02And he was doing what the night before?
11:03Lawrence Taylor was doing –
11:05Alabama slam us.
11:05Lawrence Taylor was doing things that you might see as something that can enhance.
11:09True.
11:09I mean, you got Josh Gordon out there sipping and then hitting the field and put up 1,600 yards
11:14with Brandon Wheaton throwing to him.
11:16Of course, I would probably have to hit the sauce, too, if Brandon Wheaton was my quarterback.
11:20I love that people get hit about swordsmen.
11:24Hey, there is – there are some people.
11:27Social media reactions brought to you by –
11:28Shive and Jewelers, Cleveland's premier jewelry store.
11:31Can I just read texts to you?
11:34I mean, that's not social media, but yeah.
11:36My buddy Joe texts me.
11:40Okay.
11:42We have YouTube.
11:45It's not Joe Thomas.
11:48Oh.
11:48My buddy Joe texts me.
11:50To me, it's more about making tiny bets.
11:54It's more about making tiny bets, also about breaking a major rule that can immediately get
11:58you suspended for the year.
11:59You don't care about your playing time or your teammates, but you're placing dollar bills,
12:04dollar bucks to put all of it in jeopardy.
12:07It's a red flag.
12:09That 100% is what you'd be asked about.
12:11No.
12:12You'd be grilled on it.
12:13The question is, does it matter, like, if he was doing that more as a 19-year-old as
12:19opposed to 21?
12:21Mm-hmm.
12:22And again, we have to uncover so much more about this story.
12:25Exactly.
12:25My buddy Kyle, he's a season ticket holder in two sections.
12:29He has his own, and then there's his business.
12:31Wow.
12:31Yeah.
12:32Congratulations on all your success.
12:33You bet your ass.
12:34That's all.
12:35That's a season ticket member.
12:38Says, I'm willing to flush a second rounder for a 50% chance at solving the quarterback situation
12:44only if we could get him on the field for a look this year.
12:51Yeah.
12:51That's the way a lot of people are saying.
12:52No, you said that, and it makes sense, because you can't take this guy and just assume, especially
12:59if he's going to be suspended for a part of the year.
13:03Like, you can't go in blind to the following year, especially if you have the draft capital
13:07to do something crazy.
13:08A second round pick, like, let me make that argument here, even though I'm not even for
13:12it.
13:13A second round pick, how many people would look at you, like, if he gets this, if he doesn't
13:18get this injunction and he said, now I got my buddy that apologized because it was talk
13:24to text.
13:24Don't worry about it.
13:25We're good.
13:26If he doesn't get this injunction, how many fans would look at it and go, Kenny, how many
13:30first round picks have we, you know, what it away on quarterbacks?
13:33What's the second round pick?
13:35Let's just get it fixed, Kenny.
13:37Let's just get it fixed.
13:37We've had great defenses because I'd honestly, I'd have to look at you guys and go, yeah,
13:41you're right.
13:42We've had a top five defense by and large last three years.
13:46We had a, we had one of the best offensive lines in the league.
13:52We went from having a bad offensive line to one of the best offensive lines to begin one
13:56of the bad offensive lines, but we had a great offensive line.
13:59One of the very best in this league for how many years?
14:01Five, six.
14:02All right.
14:03We had some good wide receivers in the past.
14:07We don't talk about Josh Gordon.
14:09We've had obviously some bad wide receivers in the past.
14:11We've always had pieces of it.
14:13We're always missing the quarterback.
14:14We're always missing that piece.
14:16And I think a lot of people are going, yeah, throw it until you get it right.
14:18They're tired of waiting.
14:20They're tired of waiting.
14:21And when you trade away miles for the thought of, Hey, we're going to, we got to go and
14:26we got to go after a quarterback here.
14:28That that's what this is about.
14:29Then you're telling everybody, yeah, might as well take all the swings you can.
14:33It's hard for me to a, to a regular fan.
14:35Who's just tired of talking about quarterbacks.
14:38Who's tired of waiting on a quarterback, tired of throwing their emotions behind the
14:41guy, tired of arguing about quarterbacks that they don't think are going to be very
14:44good.
14:45You're tired of that.
14:48I can't fight you on that, man.
14:50Now I would look at it and go, especially if you were to trade Denzel Ward and we'll get
14:55to the Darius Garland clips coming up.
14:56I promise.
14:57But if you were to trade Denzel Ward and you were to trade Grant Delpit, I go, man,
15:02second round pick.
15:03You could use that second round pick.
15:04If you get the first overall pick or the top five, top three pick, you take your quarterback.
15:09Then you could use that second round pick to do.
15:11God knows what third rounders, things like that.
15:13You can do all those things to do a lot of different things, but it's thought it's the
15:18thought of, yeah, but if I don't have a quarterback, I ain't got nothing, Kenny.
15:20So I might as well take as many swings as I possibly can.
15:23Now I'm kind of open to it, but it's not like the usual stuff.
15:26I know it's so different.
15:28Can I, can I explain something to you?
15:29Like it's your, it's your phone.
15:32Like before, like Arch Leister had to like get on a phone and call somebody and probably
15:38put some money down and this, that, or go to a barber shop or any other things of ways
15:43that we found out of gambling or walk into a casino.
15:46Now you just put an app on my phone.
15:48What the Brown's going to monitor his phone all the time.
15:50Like I'm used, I'm used to security following guys around the place.
15:54Say, make sure he stays away from the booger sugar.
15:56Hey, make sure this guy stays away from certain people, which absolutely happened.
16:00Like I've run into some of the Brown's personnel while I was at certain places.
16:05Let's be honest.
16:06It happens in college too.
16:07There's been guys around here that have been highly recruited and yeah, you're making
16:10sure we get this kid in.
16:11We're going to go park a car right outside of his parents' house to make sure that this
16:14happens.
16:15Like I'm, I'm used to all that.
16:16And so is the audience.
16:17You guys aren't stupid, but this is, this is different.
16:20This is kind of uncharted territory.
16:21So it's, if, if you're addicted to booze, if you're addicted to drugs, if you're addicted
16:27to other things, I can try to keep you away from that situation.
16:30You got to have a phone.
16:32You got to have a phone.
16:34You're an adult.
16:34You're a sentient being.
16:37And you know, you're sitting there at home.
16:39Maybe it's the off season.
16:41You get that bug going on.
16:44All right.
16:44Are we saying as long as he doesn't gamble on football, we'll be good.
16:48What are the rules here?
16:49Cause I know like when you go to Vegas, they won't even let you walk through a casino.
16:52Right.
16:53If you're like with an NFL organization, you can't just walk through a casino.
16:56There's a whole protocol in place.
16:57Yes.
16:58It's not.
16:58And that's not just players, by the way.
17:00That's like, I don't think Siciliano is allowed to walk through a casino.
17:03If they play at Vegas, I don't think he's allowed to do it.
17:05Like it's it.
17:06They are, they are extremely careful about that stuff.
17:11The league is because they know they're in a weird spot.
17:13You take the money with the gambling, your partners with gambling.
17:16It's business fine, but you got to make sure you're on the up and up with the people who
17:20watch it.
17:21Just from the optics of it.
17:222-1-6-4-7-4-0-0-92.
17:24Eddie and Westlake, you're first up on the fan.
17:26Hello, Eddie.
17:27Hey, what's going on, guys?
17:29Sorry, Eddie.
17:30I took a sip of coffee.
17:31Nothing much, friend.
17:32Go ahead.
17:33So, listen.
17:34So, the other guy, whoever it was, or text you or whatever, that's kind of stole my thunder.
17:40It's what you're going to give up.
17:41So, I'm not giving up anything.
17:44He already priced himself out with the situation for me to do a first-round pick.
17:50So, I'm debating whether I'm doing a second or a third.
17:53You know what I mean?
17:53And they could get feelers.
17:55You know, maybe they got to do a second just to outbid somebody else.
17:57I don't know.
17:58But I'm not doing any more than that.
18:00But, like I said, until you get this, until you – and I do really believe that, you know,
18:05Shador Sanders is going to play better when given the opportunity, whether that's outbid.
18:10I agree with you there.
18:11I agree with you there.
18:13But good enough to pass on this class, I don't think so.
18:17No, but that's the thing, though.
18:19Especially if Watson starts.
18:20I don't know if I have enough time.
18:21If I could solve the problem without having to give up, without having to draft a quarterback
18:26in the top, you know, with the top pick, I want to do that all day.
18:30You know what I mean?
18:31Like, if I could go – and I could go – and now I'm in a conversation with, you know,
18:35Jeremiah Smith or whoever the top corner is.
18:38You know, I'm filling other holes.
18:41You know what I mean?
18:41Because the Browns, you know, they got the offensive line, you know,
18:44patched up for a little bit right here.
18:46So, you know, probably not going to be taking the first-round offensive lineman again.
18:49But, hey, you know, receiver, you know, DB, you know, those types of things are still,
18:54you know, another defensive end.
18:56You know, another – you know, you can never have too many pass rushers.
18:58So, if they could be addressing those positions as opposed to having to figure out
19:03which quarterback they're going to take when it's going to be like – it's going to be
19:05like six of them and then they're going to be trying to – then it's going to be
19:08somebody that's going to shoot up at the last minute.
19:10You know, I mean, I don't want to be – you know, if I can have that situation
19:14already handled prior to dealing with this class, this 20-27 class, it's a plus.
19:19And plus, if it's all these quarterbacks, that means all these other positions
19:22are going to drop.
19:23So, if you've got six or seven guys that are going to go in the first round
19:29as quarterbacks, then you've got other premium positions.
19:32And the Browns got two first-round picks.
19:34So, if they could use those two first-round picks on premium spots, like I said,
19:38at the end, corner, you know, receiver, only if it's Jeremiah Smith, hey, I'm all for that.
19:45And say I got the number three overall pick and I want to go to number one.
19:49Say the Raiders get number one, right?
19:51Eddie, and thank you for the call.
19:53Say the Raiders get number one.
19:54I hate to be talking draft a year ahead.
19:56But we're going to get to these Darius Garland comments coming up at 843.
19:59I promise you guys, okay?
20:01Say you get the number three overall pick.
20:02The Raiders have number one.
20:04They have Fernando Mendoza.
20:05They're happy with Fernando Mendoza.
20:06They're going, hey, we're open for business.
20:08Let's go.
20:09It's still another piece that you can't use because you're going to have to go into Hawk
20:12to go up to number one because the asking price is going to be astronomical.
20:15Or, like Albert had said to the guys in the afternoon, if you have a situation where,
20:21God forbid, I don't want anybody to get hurt, but if Caleb Williams gets hurt
20:24and the Bears go belly up and they got the number one overall pick,
20:28a team that doesn't need a quarterback but is happy with their young quarterback,
20:32if they get that number one spot, they're going to be open for business.
20:36Like the Jets, they ain't moving off of nothing.
20:38Or the Cardinals, Dolphins, or us, we are not moving off of anything.
20:42So you have to put that in there.
20:43Is that second-round pick, is that going to also hurt you?
20:48Because if you play Brennan Soresby or if you bring in Brennan Soresby
20:52and it's like, oh, God, this is just another one of these messes here,
20:56are you hurting yourself to be able to move up?
20:59Well, that question has to be asked to you.
21:02Chuck and Rocky River, you're next up on The Fan.
21:04Hello, Chuck.
21:05Yo, what's up, fellas, man?
21:06How you doing today?
21:07Doing well, Chuck.
21:08Go ahead.
21:09I want to say this about our team.
21:11I think the Browns got a legitimate chance this year compared to other years
21:17just because how much we got better compared to the other teams.
21:20You know, Cincinnati lost Henderson, I believe that was his name.
21:24Well, he's over with the Ravens now, so it's still in division, yeah.
21:27The Steelers lost a pretty good coach.
21:31You know what I mean?
21:32Who knows what happened?
21:33You know, Rodgers is 40 years old, and the division won 10 games last year,
21:37so I think we got a chance.
21:39I do want to say something about the Miles Garrett trade.
21:45That pick might end up being a high pick.
21:47I mean, how old is Stafford?
21:50He's pushing.
21:5138?
21:52So I think, you know, he's one injury away from that being a –
21:55Well, I don't want to root for injury, but I'm going to root for him to lose.
21:57Well, of course not, but I'm just using common sense.
21:59You know, it is football, the most physical sport.
22:02So, you know, who knows what could happen with that pick.
22:04But the source would be – I don't even think that should be a talking point
22:08because why would we want to bring a cancer into the locker room,
22:11the leader of the team –
22:12Well, wait, wait, wait.
22:13The cancer in the locker room.
22:14Where are you getting cancer in the locker room from?
22:17Well, that's what it would be.
22:18We want guys coming here with clean backgrounds.
22:21We don't want a guy to have anything to do with sports betting,
22:23especially after what just happened with Classe.
22:26And thanks for the call, guys.
22:27Ooh.
22:29We might be a little sensitive because of –
22:30Yeah, that's a good point, honestly.
22:31As fans, we might be a little sensitive because of that.
22:33Now, Kate Smith has done better.
22:35But we lost –
22:36At the beginning of the year, a lot of people hot.
22:37You've got to let Sorsby go to L.A.
22:38because you can do whatever you want out there.
22:40Go ahead.
22:41Tell him we can say, oh, hey.
22:43It is so apt that he brings up the Classe thing,
22:48which I wasn't openly thinking about, two different sports, whatever.
22:53But it does beg to reason.
22:55Like, could you see fans being skittish?
22:58He could be a great teammate, right?
23:00He could be a great teammate.
23:01But if there's that in the history there, fans say,
23:05what if his own teammates say?
23:06Because he's bound to have –
23:07any rookie's bound to have a couple of –
23:09like, obviously, like Josh Allen.
23:12It's documented.
23:13It started out.
23:14It was rough.
23:14Got injured.
23:15Took off.
23:15But there were a couple games that he's had every year
23:18where he kind of goes –
23:19and I think every quarterback probably does that.
23:21We just assume they're all great, right?
23:23The difference between Classe and this, though,
23:25Classe is being accused of throwing games, right?
23:29Or at least throwing plays, right?
23:31Yes.
23:32Sorsby's not been accused of, you know,
23:34trying to alter the outcomes of games.
23:36It's just he's putting money on it.
23:38Didn't people used to stand up for Pete Rose forever
23:41and say, well, he didn't bet against his team.
23:43That's the example.
23:44Yes.
23:44That's the example Lyme is talking about.
23:46Because I think the second that he were to start playing poorly,
23:51I think people are going to bring that up.
23:53Yeah, obviously.
23:53And it's only a matter of time.
23:56The first Eric pass that just went over a receiver's head by two feet.
23:58That was on purpose.
23:59Yes.
24:00And the safety was standing right there, and he knew it.
24:02But if we use common sense about it as best we can –
24:04it's not even common sense.
24:06If we use history about it, like I'm sure there are great quarterbacks
24:09in years past who like to hit the tables
24:12or even would take their guys with them, their buddies with them,
24:17to go hit a casino in like AC or somewhere when they had a bye week
24:21or something like that.
24:22Or they had a Monday night game and had some time.
24:24Something like that.
24:25I'm sure it's happened in the past.
24:27We just don't hear about it because it was the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
24:30Now it's all out there for everybody.
24:32So he's got to be even more careful,
24:33but he's obviously got to be responsible about himself
24:35because you and I would sit here and hope that,
24:37hey, man, as a top-end quarterback,
24:40you're set to make $300 million, even $400 million in the future before taxes.
24:45You and I don't have gambling problems.
24:47We don't think like that.
24:49That's why they have problems because they've admitted to themselves
24:55they have put themselves and their families at risk in some form or fashion
25:00because of gambling, and if he's going to rehab over this,
25:04some of it might be for appearances, granted.
25:07Some of it might be serious, and I think that's probably an everyday struggle.
25:12Is it not?
25:13I mean, this is something we used to make jokes about on Seinfeld
25:16and stuff like that back in the 90s.
25:18Now that it's out there everywhere, we're seeing more and more,
25:20and he won't be the last one.
25:22It's probably the first foray.
25:23Again, there's definitely – I would almost guarantee there's been a guy
25:26who got drafted over the last couple of years.
25:29That's bet on football.
25:30That's bet on his own team.
25:31I do wonder, how seriously will the NFL take this?
25:33What kind of suspension – and we've seen guys that came in with domestic assault cases
25:38hanging over their head, and the Browns have drafted guys like that plenty of times.
25:42Yeah.
25:43So how do you compare?
25:45Because one of these things has nothing to do with the actual sport itself on the field
25:51and then wondering, hey, is this guy open to certain considerations when it comes to that?
25:58Like, that's going to be hard for a lot of fans to digest.
