00:00Stay ready for that. Get you some really nice watch party, a little soccer watch party for the Dynamo celebration.
00:08A little Mexico-South Africa.
00:11Yeah, man. Stay ready for that.
00:13Stay open and ready for that. Wide open and ready.
00:18Yeah, bless it, Wado.
00:18Bless it, Wado.
00:20Tell him to bring him back.
00:22Tell him to bring him back.
00:23All right, there's a couple things that Clint gets stuck on any time this comes up from D'Amico Ryan,
00:32the head coach.
00:33And here is the first one as he talks about what seems to be a kind of a major story,
00:41at least right now, with this team.
00:44That is the relationship between his quarterback and his offensive coordinator.
00:50Stroud and what do they call him, Kales?
00:53Oh, Kales.
00:54A little too close.
00:57Oh, Nicky Kales.
00:58Too close. That's R. Kelly's nickname. A little too close.
01:01Oh, is it?
01:02Yeah. That's one of them, Kales.
01:05Anyway, here is D'Amico.
01:08Next to Ignition.
01:09Yeah, here is D'Amico's. What is that?
01:12Dude, I don't know. I feel like...
01:14I forgot they're doing work.
01:15I'm tripping, though. This is different.
01:18It looks a little bit.
01:19All right, here is D'Amico talking about the relationship between those two.
01:24With CJ and Nick, I've seen both guys there communicating much better.
01:28And it's year two of a system.
01:29When it's year two, you understand we're not going through the install for the first time.
01:34All right, so there is some recall from what we've done in the past that allows us to speed up
01:40what we're doing in year two.
01:42It's to be expected.
01:43But the way they're communicating, CJ has ideas and thoughts on different plays, formations, things that he liked.
01:50We try to do our best to implement those things as well.
01:54So it's just the coach-player relationship is definitely, I think, is heading in the right direction.
02:00They're growing much closer.
02:01They're communicating better.
02:03And that's what it takes for a good offensive coordinator, good quarterback.
02:07We have to work hand-in-hand.
02:09And those guys are doing that.
02:10It's been outstanding.
02:11And also, Jerry's done a great job as well with the communication, with CJ, what he's done with Davis, Graham,
02:17all the guys.
02:18So I'm pleased with where we are right now with our quarterback position.
02:21Here you go.
02:22Jerry got in there, too.
02:23Jerry getting a little love.
02:24So that's something that's always going to stick out to you when you hear that.
02:28I think there's just this time of year when they start talking about what they've been working on, I think
02:33it's important that we take note.
02:36I mean, we've heard from D'Amico twice now.
02:38We've heard about, in some form or fashion, the communication is obviously a big sticking point, which I believe should
02:47improve from year one to year two.
02:48It should improve when you've got a quarterback that's three years into the league.
02:52It's going to be his fourth year.
02:53It should be flawless.
02:56It should be a strength of yours when you've got that's asking for more command at the line of scrimmage
03:01and asking for more responsibility at the line of scrimmage.
03:05So all of that is part of it.
03:07We keep hearing that.
03:08But the one piece in there that I think is important, and this is the second time I believe we've
03:14heard D'Amico talk about it.
03:16I know we've heard CJ mention it.
03:17The part that's important is we're doing things that CJ does well, right?
03:25I mean, the fact that this isn't just an understanding of what every offense in Houston is doing from day
03:36one is enough.
03:38But right now where this offense is and where we feel like the expectations are for this quarterback and kind
03:47of the rock and a hard place this quarterback's in,
03:49it's refreshing to hear that they're doing things that CJ Stroud likes to do, that CJ Stroud does have some
03:56input into what they're doing offensively.
03:59And so now we'll see if that bears fruit.
04:01We'll see if that comes to fruition when the rubber meets the road in the season.
04:07But that's one thing that it's good to hear from the head coach because clearly it's a big talking point
04:12throughout.
04:12We've heard the head coach say it.
04:14We've heard the quarterback say it.
04:15That obviously that's part of what's happening.
04:18Yeah.
04:18Well, like I said, I can't wait to hear from Nick Cayley.
04:21Absolutely.
04:22We talked about that.
04:23See if we get any even more depth on that.
04:26And then the other thing that gets you, when D'Amico was talking about backs out of the backfield in
04:33terms of being involved in the passing game,
04:36here is D'Amico talking about that.
04:39Backs, they're doing a great job all camp.
04:42We've been working more with our backs, with the routes, catching some passes out of the backfield, some option routes,
04:48some screen plays.
04:49And all the guys have handled that really well.
04:51Coach Barrett's done a great job working with those guys on that.
04:55Just landmarks, hands, all of the fine details that go into that.
04:59But we have a good group of backs.
05:01All the guys have really good hands, can catch it well, secure the ball well.
05:06So that'll be a really good position for us this year.
05:08Yeah, that lends it to things there, right?
05:12Is, you know, the creativity piece of this thing.
05:16And Woody Marks, obviously, that's something that I think Woody Marks does exceptionally well
05:20and should be a weapon with this offense.
05:23And so to hear...
05:24He said he was running all the route, the entire route.
05:27Well, again, so I always say, you know, like, just listen.
05:30And...
