00:00How was Italy?
00:02It was gorgeous.
00:03Yeah.
00:04It was picturesque.
00:04Wait, you went to Italy?
00:05Yeah, yeah, I did.
00:06If you're not familiar, if you, you know, I guess had not heard.
00:09Has he mentioned it today?
00:12Did you?
00:12Only a couple times.
00:13Get out of town.
00:14Really?
00:15Maybe four.
00:15I had a friend get married in Italy, and so I went and I spent the week in a few
00:20places
00:21in Italy, Rome, Florence, and a town in the countryside of Tuscany called San Gimignano.
00:28He pronounced that pretty well.
00:30Well, you know, I like trying to pronounce things if I can.
00:32San Gimignano.
00:33Okay.
00:34Did you do the homework I gave you?
00:35Oh, yeah.
00:36I tried.
00:37I tried.
00:37I tried to do the homework.
00:38I was looking for Texans fans, and I will be honest, I found two Cowboys fans.
00:44Oh, really?
00:45Really?
00:46Yeah.
00:46Yeah, that was a little unfortunate.
00:48Yeah, yeah.
00:49So that's all I had.
00:50You should have talked to them as if they were Texans fans.
00:52Oh, yeah, yeah.
00:54That would have been interesting.
00:55Houston, right?
00:56Houston.
00:56Yeah.
00:57Act like you're from out of town.
00:59Uh, the group that I was with put the kibosh on the, uh, on the ordering in the, in the
01:06absurd accent.
01:07They were like, absolutely not.
01:09And then, I'm an idiot.
01:10I didn't write down the other two, so I did not remember the other two to give them a
01:13shot.
01:13It was just those two.
01:14Okay.
01:15And we're having fun.
01:16Like, we all get excited, get to go to a trip like that.
01:19I'm glad you did.
01:20I was talking to you off air.
01:21Uh, you know, it, it, it, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's over there and you should, you should
01:26have enjoyed it.
01:27Uh, however.
01:29Okay.
01:29Um, is Reggie that guy?
01:31Do you think he's going to be that guy?
01:32Figgy?
01:33He's shown a couple little hints already today.
01:35Yeah, you get to weigh in.
01:36You'll be the judge on the text line.
01:38713-572.
01:39You got some questions lined up.
01:40I got some questions for you.
01:42Oh boy.
01:42Here comes the interrogation.
01:43So, so when did you get back?
01:44I got back on Saturday.
01:47Well, I got back stateside Saturday because I was going to a second new wedding.
01:50Remember I had back to back days of weddings, but I got back to Houston Sunday.
01:54So we're working on three days back.
01:55Yes.
01:56How many times have you talked about the pasta over in Italy compared to the pasta here?
02:01Not once.
02:01Ah, come on.
02:02Not that.
02:03Hand to God.
02:04I will, I will be, I'm going to be.
02:06How was the pasta?
02:06Do you feel like the pasta is better over there than here?
02:09Um.
02:10Or it's kind of the same?
02:12I think that there's a lot of good pasta.
02:14Or there's, I think that there's, it's a lower floor, but if there's, if you're talking
02:18about ceiling here, you can get pasta that is, that is similar, I think.
02:22I'm surprised because that guy would have said, well, you know, in Italy, uh, have you,
02:27have you complained or talked about American bread, cheese, or wine since you've been back
02:33compared to what you had in Italy?
02:35Figgy?
02:35Yep.
02:36The wine.
02:37It was the wine.
02:38It was the wine.
02:39I had a lot of wine.
02:41The wine in Italy.
02:42Yeah.
02:42Um, just can never go to Kroger again.
02:45Oh, I'm not buying off the shelf at Kroger.
02:47Are you ridiculous?
02:49Just to give you a short version of what I gave Fig was there was a day that the group
02:54that I was with did a couple of wineries, a couple of wine tastings.
02:57And so on that day I had had a bottle of wine with lunch with, with sandwiches.
03:02So that was two, two glasses there.
03:03I had a Hugo's and then we went to the winery.
03:07Winery number one gave us five, uh, five wines.
03:11And of course this isn't quite a taster, but it's also not a full glass.
03:14So somewhere in there.
03:15Yeah.
03:15And then there was the second winery gave us food and seven wines.
03:18Yikes.
03:19Cause that's 15 drinks.
03:20And buddy, I was still good.
03:23Like it, no hangover, none of that sort.
03:25So I was like, Hey man, the wine in Italy, Figgy, the wine in Italy.
03:29It's magical.
03:30It is magical.
03:31It's some Italian music right now for this.
03:33That's right.
03:34Uh, this is another tell and you might be wearing one right now.
03:38I don't remember that shirt.
03:40Did you buy any Italian shirts or clothing and, you know, mention it or wear it in passing
03:47here?
03:47No and no.
03:48Really?
03:48That's not, that looks new.
03:49No, I've had this for a little while.
03:51Um, and you buy no clothes or nothing?
03:53No, I honestly didn't buy very much, but that was because of a natural constraint I had because
03:58I was doing the two weddings.
03:59I was like, I have to be able to pack for a carry on only.
04:02I couldn't check a bag in order to make my maneuvering quick.
04:05And so I, I went through this with a duffel, but you remember the duffel bag I went to
04:09the Super Bowl with a duffel bag and a backpack and that's it.
04:12I went through it.
04:12I went for a week.
04:13That includes a tuxedo.
04:14That includes a tux packed into a duffel bag.
04:16So I did not have room for any trinkets, unfortunately for you guys.
04:19I did not bring you back any super.
04:20By the way, uh, for research purposes only, did you wear the same tux that you wore in Italy
04:27to the wedding in, um, the States?
04:30Yes, I did.
04:31The same exact one without going to the, uh, dry cleaning.
04:35There's anything.
04:36Didn't have an opportunity.
04:37All right.
04:38Just asking.
04:39They were happy that I was there.
04:41I mean, I took a shower at the beach.
04:42You make it seem like I rolled in there dirty.
04:45Hey, that question yesterday.
04:46So yeah, yeah.
04:48I couldn't pack two full of wedding outfits in there.
04:51All right.
04:51So this is a tell Ron.
04:53This is, this is a tell as well.
04:55If you're that guy, when you, once you're in Italy and it gets good to you, you know,
04:58and you're walking around maybe in the countryside, you try to take that artsy picture of like
05:03a door, a doorway or a cobblestone street or an alleyway.
05:09Did you, did you feel it?
05:10Did you take that?
05:12I got 13,000 of those.
05:14My phone is chock full.
05:15Look at the shadows on this doorway.
05:17He sent us a picture of an air conditioner.
05:19Well, that's different.
05:20Well, no, that was because of the Daikin, but honestly, like I, I, my phone is chock full
05:25of useless photos.
05:27He gets the shadows just right and take a picture of the cobblestone streets.
05:31Yeah.
05:31Yeah.
05:31That's a, that guy.
05:32That's a guy.
05:33You're like, this is phenomenal.
05:34Yes.
05:34You don't see stuff like that.
05:36Oh, speaking of which, um, have you mentioned to anybody or talked about how Europe changed
05:42you?
05:42Oh no.
05:44I think you guys know I'm not that guy.
05:46Well, I've even said you look at life different now.
05:48That's what I'll say.
05:49Like one thing I've said about people and about, you know, traveling in Europe, you learn
05:53they know how to live there.
05:54That's something I always say.
05:56And, and maybe that can be perceived the same way.
05:59Yeah.
05:59So they do know how to live in Europe.
06:01They really do.
06:01Like one thing that is very evident when you go is that, hey man, you, you have dinner
06:06and you're waiting for your check.
06:08Just wait.
06:08Yeah.
06:08Like they'll get around to it.
06:10There is no urgency on bringing you the check and getting you this money, like getting
06:13this money.
06:13They're like, chill.
06:14And you just have to deal with it.
06:16So that was interesting.
06:17The thing that I did say was it did just going experience.
06:20This is my first, I guess not first full international.
06:23Well, yeah.
06:23First, like big, big international.
06:25Yeah.
06:25Cause I've done like a cruise and stopped in places, but that feels a little different.
06:29And I was like, yeah, I got to expand my horizons.
06:31That's, that was the thing.
06:32So if, if that counts as I've changed, yeah.
06:34Then I would say.
06:35Yeah.
06:36Once you go once you, you always immediately want to go again.
06:38Um, here's one, uh, have you, well, actually you, you, you kind of did earlier.
06:45Have you used any Italian words, air quotes by accident?
06:49Yes.
06:50Yeah.
06:51I have been fighting for my life over the last three days to not, whenever I like get
06:56food or something to not say grazie.
06:58Oh, I'm sorry.
06:58I just got back from Italy.
07:00I'm used to saying grazie.
07:02Which is funny.
07:03Cause while I was in Italy, I was pure American tourist.
07:06Like I did not do enough of the learning of like the basic, uh, you know, greetings and
07:10such.
07:11And so there was a lot of, you know, how like Americans will do that where we just kind
07:16of like smile and nod and just, they'll figure out what I mean.
07:19I do that to my cleaning lady.
07:21Don't know English and she's Spanish.
07:23And so the one that I knew I could do really well, I got you on the gracie.
07:27I got you on that one.
07:28And so that one stuck.
07:29And then I got back and I'm, I'm hopping in, uh, I'm hopping in an Uber, right?
07:33In San Antonio, Texas.
07:35And I'm, I'm about to, uh, grazie.
07:36Oh, dang it.
07:37Dang it.
07:38I just came back from Italy.
07:40Sorry.
07:40Oh, I'm sorry.
07:41Yeah.
07:41That's a force of habit.
07:42I spent some time in Italy.
07:43All right, ciao.
07:45Um, have you, have you talked about how you miss walking everywhere?
07:51I mean, I have not talked about how I miss walking, but while I was there, I was like,
07:55yeah, we don't get, we don't get a chance to do this as much.
07:57It is pretty cool.
07:59It is very cool.
08:00And I was helped out by, and I was listening yesterday when, uh, Luke was talking about
08:04the fact that the world cup, uh, adjustments that were happening downtown.
08:08Yeah.
08:08How like, it's kind of crazy how Houston is neither walkable nor drivable.
08:12Yeah.
08:13And I was like, I, that was one of those.
08:15I gave him a, yeah, he's, he's not wrong.
08:19Uh, so what, what was, uh, what was the best part?
08:23Oh man.
08:24Um, there's a lot of best parts, which again, sounding like that guy.
08:28Um, if the best food that I had, oddly enough was a croissant that I had in the, in the
08:34bed
08:34and breakfast that I had in the Tuscan countryside, why don't you go over there and get one book
08:39your flight.
08:39I'll be back.
08:40I'm headed out.
08:41I'll catch y'all next week.
08:42No.
08:43Um, there was a lot.
08:44I mean, it's just the vistas.
08:45Everything is picturesque and all of the pictures that I've taken.
08:48And some of them that I posted, none of them do them just do justice.
08:52Oh, there you go.
08:52There's one.
08:53There's one right there.
08:54He just did one.
08:56What do you want me to lie?
08:57You want me to lie?
08:58None of them do justice.
08:59Oh, here's a picture of, uh, the blah, blah, blah, but, uh, uh, it just doesn't do it justice.
09:04Oh, I forgot one.
09:05Um, did you go to a museum and spend too much time there because you felt like you needed to
09:11because you really had to appreciate the art?
09:14Yes, but that's me at museums anyways.
09:16Yeah, you are kind of a museum guy.
09:18So, but yes, yes, I did.
09:19A lot of people just like stare at a painting, not knowing what the hell they're looking
09:22at, but they're acting as if like, oh, look at the, you know, the-
09:25Acting like you reading that long ass paragraph right there.
09:28I think what he's really trying to say here is blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
09:31You want to know how-
09:31Hmm, 1596.
09:33Oh, that's the year.
09:34You want to know how much I am that guy?
09:36I have pictures of just the plaques so that I can like, have the context.
09:39Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
09:41All, all, all the way.
09:42I got one.
09:43Do you think Reggie, um, going forward, uh, um, just in a regular conversation,
09:48you're like, oh, yeah, when I was in Italy.
09:50Oh, yeah.
09:50Oh, yeah.
09:51My mother-in-law, God bless my mother-in-law.
09:54She went to Africa.
09:55I want to say a couple of years ago, every single talking point.
09:59Oh, yeah.
09:59When I was in Africa.
10:01Oh, yeah, they got this nice little thing in Africa.
10:04You could be sitting there talking about-
10:06McDonald's.
10:07Yeah, McDonald's.
10:08Oh, in Africa, they're McDonald's.
10:11There were two McDonald's on either side of the Pantheon when I went there,
10:14and I was like, word two?
10:16Did you have any American food there?
10:18Fast food?
10:19Yeah, good for you.
10:19I'm like, look, man.
10:20Hey, come on.
10:21You get that.
10:22You got American food at home.
10:23I got it.
10:24The crib, man.
10:24We're not doing that.
10:25You know, one of the best things about there, and this is me sounding like
10:27that now, though, and I'm sure you'll agree, is like, it's great to go to
10:31their awesome restaurants and have, you know, whatever, but the street food,
10:35just getting a quick croissant with ham and cheese is like, this is the best
10:39ham and cheese I've ever had in my life.
10:41It really is.
10:41The good part is that you don't have to plan, especially in Rome particularly,
10:44but a lot of places, you don't have to plan where you want to eat.
10:46You can, or you just pop in anywhere, and you can usually get a pretty good
10:50bite.
10:50But, yeah, it was a fun time from the 832 on the text line.
10:54How did people react when you said you were from Texas?
10:56Lit up.
10:57Oh, yeah?
10:57Lit up.
10:58Like, obviously, there's a certain level.
11:00They know what America is, but, you know, some people, like I have a friend who is
11:03from Louisiana and lives in Dallas.
11:08And so, like, hey, where are you from?
11:10Texas.
11:11Oh, Texas.
11:12Like, you ain't going to say Lafayette.
11:14You don't know what Lafayette is.
11:15Everybody knows Texas.
11:16There was a circumstance because there was a lot of people from Chicago on this
11:19trip that were like, from Chicago.
11:21Texas.
11:21Hey, Texas.
11:22Yeah, yeah, yeah.
11:23We big.
11:24We big in Italy.
11:25And the Italian women?
11:29Gorgeous, but more often than not looked really young, which made me feel, I was like, okay,
11:33I'm getting older because I was like, why does she look 12?
11:36That's uncomfortable.
11:37Yeah.
11:38So, yeah, it was a fun time, and I will offer you guys this.
11:41You ready?
11:42I have a story that reflects poorly on myself that if at any point, actually, I have two,
11:48but one of them I'm actually willing to tell, I might give you the second one.
11:52At any time, if you want me to tell this story, you guys have a free reign to force Reggie
11:58to tell the story.
11:58I'm putting it in my notes right now.
12:00Hey, we can talk about this story in the midst of this one.
12:03I'll clear it out for you.
12:05This is my gift to you.
12:06I have one that makes me look pretty bad here, so I'll throw that one up there.
12:11But a good time, and again, real big thanks to Luke Morrow for sitting in for me for the time
12:15being.
12:15Who's Italian, by the way.
12:16He is Italian.
12:16That's irony.
12:17Yes, yes it is.
12:18Yes it is.
12:19I went to his motherland, and I defiled it.
12:21He's going to Nigeria next week.
12:24As payback.
12:26I would absolutely love that.
12:27Just a spike trip to Legos.
12:30When I was in Nigeria.
12:32That's funny.
12:32All right.
