00:00Mr. Attorney General, I wanted to ask a few questions about the Anti-Weaponization Fund.
00:05We know that the department has agreed to pause this effort until at least June 12th.
00:12I wanted to ask what your plans were for the fund after June 12th.
00:18So, thank you. So, look, we're not moving forward with the fund.
00:21You're right that there's a date that, in the case in the East District of Virginia, in June,
00:26but we are not moving forward with the fund, period.
00:31We, the reasons for the fund is something that President Trump talked about for a long time,
00:35which is the fact that there were a lot of people in this country who had their government weaponized against
00:40them.
00:41The reasons for the fund, I think, remain as important as they were before, but we are not moving forward
00:49with the fund.
00:50Not moving forward ever?
00:51Correct.
00:52Oh, there's no more fund then?
00:55Well, to the extent there was a fund, and remember, the fund wasn't set up yet.
00:58There were no commissioner's name.
00:59There was no claimants brought anything in front of them.
01:04There was no claims made yet.
01:05So, yes, we're not moving forward with the fund.
01:09You and Associate Attorney General Woodward signed earlier documents regarding the settlement and this fund.
01:16And would both of you now sign and release documents reversing the DOJ's position on the fund?
01:24I'm not, we're not moving forward with the fund.
01:27I'm not sure what that means to sign documents reversing.
01:29There's nothing to reverse.
01:30We're not moving forward with the fund.
01:32We know about the court case, the decision, when we've heard press reports, obviously, but is there any way that
01:40you could put this in writing?
01:42I don't know if there are other ways that you could use another vehicle to move forward with a similar
01:49fund or similar intention, and we just want to reassure the American public.
01:53We've heard from both Republicans and Democrats, constituents, and Americans across the country about this fund, and I think they
02:02would love to be reassured that this fund will not progress.
02:06I'm telling you it's not.
02:08I guess I'm not sure.
02:09I'm not trying to be flippant with you.
02:11I'm just saying I'm telling you it's not.
02:12I'm not.
02:13I'm not, there's a, we put out a statement yesterday.
02:18There's been an injunction, a temporary injunction filed in EDDA.
02:23There's litigation in D.C.
02:24There's litigation in the Southern District of Florida, but notwithstanding what we do in those litigations and defending our rights
02:30and making sure our rights are protected, we're not moving forward with the fund.
02:34Okay.
