00:13is dead, according to CNBC. Judge Leonie Brinkema said a written declaration under penalty of perjury
00:20would have been enough to dismiss the case as moot. She cited Acting Attorney General Todd
00:25Blanche's refusal to rescind the May 18th memo that created the fund's structure.
00:30The Justice Department must formally respond to the lawsuit by July 17th.
00:34The fund was created as part of a settlement of Trump's $10 billion lawsuit against the IRS over
00:39a leak of his tax records. Blanche told a House committee on June 2nd that the fund was not going
00:45forward, and DOJ lawyers used that statement to argue that lawsuits challenging the fund
00:50should be dismissed. Brinkema said the DOJ's refusal to put that promise in writing was concerning.
