00:00President Trump is dropping his plan for a $1.776 billion anti-weaponization fund.
00:07The Department of Justice made the announcement on Monday. This is the taxpayer-funded cash the
00:12President and Department of Justice had planned to use to pay back people who claimed to be
00:17victimized by the government, like, say, someone who was arrested, jailed, and then pardoned for
00:22their role in the January 6th Capitol riots. There was a lot of bipartisan pushback against
00:28this fund. Senate Republicans complained about the lack of details and guardrails when it came
00:34to doling out the cash. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche was actually grilled by GOP lawmakers
00:39after the announcement of the fund. Then, Senate Republican leaders delayed action on a $72
00:45billion bill to fund Trump's immigration crackdown after dozens of Republican lawmakers objected to
00:52the establishment of the fund. Senate Republican Leader John Thune said the issue with the fund
00:56would have to be resolved before the legislation could move forward. Then, Monday, the DOJ reluctantly
01:03agreed to abide by a federal court ruling that halted the fund, while voicing its disagreement
01:08with the ruling. The fund was created as part of an agreement between Trump and the IRS to settle his
01:14$10 billion lawsuit against the agency. The settlement also included a provision that the President and
01:19his family cannot be targeted for IRS audits. It was unclear as of Monday night if dropping the
01:25anti-weaponization fund will impact the rest of the deal.
01:29Now, stop me if you've heard this one before.
01:31Talks between the United States and Iran to end the month-long war fell apart on Monday. And then,
01:38a few hours later, they unfell apart. If you have completely lost track of what is going on,
01:43you are not alone. Luckily, one person who has not lost track is The Post's Washington reporter,
01:50Caitlin Dornbos. She filled me in on everything that went down on Monday and where we are at now.
01:55Yeah. So, Iran yesterday actually threatened to withdraw from U.S. negotiations to end the war
02:01with the U.S. over Israel's targeted strikes on Beirut. Israel had threatened to strike Beirut to
02:09try to take out Hezbollah terrorists that were firing on Israel. And the President picked up the
02:15phone and called both Lebanon and Israel and achieved some sort of a ceasefire between the two
02:22of them. The agreement says that Hezbollah will stop firing on Israel. And in return, Israel will
02:28stop firing on Hezbollah. Now, where things stand is really unclear right now. And it appears for the
02:35minute that we are back to negotiating again with Iran. The President says that those negotiations are
02:42going very rapidly. Who knows? Obviously, we've seen how this has been taking place over weeks and
02:51weeks and weeks. So, it's just a constantly developing situation that is difficult to
02:55really put a bookend on at this point. Embattled Maine, Democratic Senate candidate Graham Plattner
03:02is finally speaking for himself after sending his wife out, human shield style, to answer for his
03:08scandalous dating life. With his wife Amy glued to his side, the Senate hopeful spoke to news center
03:15Maine and parroted the same argument his wife made over the weekend. It's no surprise to me that
03:21the establishment media outlets are just going to run gossip instead of wanting to talk about the
03:26things that actually matter in this race, which are the material realities that the Mainers are
03:31working with. He was asked point blank if the allegations published by the Wall Street Journal
03:36and New York Times that he sexted with women on the hookup app Kik even after marrying Amy in 2023
03:44were
03:44true. Here is his non-answer. The Wall Street Journal and New York Times ran stories without any evidence
03:52besides the gossip from a former staffer. I'm sorry. That's frankly, journalistic malpractice.
03:59The latest incident in Plattner's scandal-plagued campaign was actually revealed by his wife,
04:05who confided in campaign staffers about her husband's activities. At least one of those
04:11staffers ran to the media with the details. For more on these stories and everything else
04:16you could possibly want to know, check out the New York Post in print or online. And don't forget,

04:25I promise, you'll be glad you did.
