00:00One of the girls was jogging and she saw the stranded penguin.
00:03So me and her first aid guy, we both went.
00:06When we first saw him, his head was really deep inside the sand.
00:09Hi, I'm Catherine. I'm a wildlife vet.
00:11And I wanted to share this penguin rescue story with Adodo.
00:15He put his head up and he could breathe.
00:18I could see that he wasn't too sick.
00:23And the one thing that I saw immediately is that he wasn't a chronically ill animal.
00:28The African penguin. It's one of the main attractions when you come to Cape Town.
00:32You can go to this beach and there's the African penguins and now they're critically endangered.
00:37So we brought him in the towel and then in the box.
00:49So we brought him to the vet clinic. We took his weight and he was fine.
01:06He had a small wound on the abdomen.
01:08But the good thing is the wound was only very superficial.
01:19Overall, he seemed to be going well.
01:25He's in the rehab process.
01:27They usually stay a couple of weeks, getting as healthy as possible and then released.
01:37I'll be right back.
01:43Let's go.
01:44Let's go.
