00:00Honestly, she just looked like she had spent a really long time trying to survive outside on her own.
00:06This cat was given to a rescuer in a tiny box after ending up on a municipal shelter transfer list,
00:11and her time was running out.
00:12Oh, she's got huge mats.
00:15Physically, she was in really rough shape.
00:18Hi baby, even mats on your forehead.
00:22One thing that really stuck out to me was Wimsy's eyes.
00:24It was almost like she was saying, just give me one chance.
00:27But her fur was so matted.
00:30Whoops.
00:31There you go.
00:31They shaved one off her back, but at the shelter.
00:36The first thing we had to do was get her all cleaned up and comfortable.
00:40Nikki spent quite some time shaving off her fur.
00:43Once the matted fur came off, we really could finally see her little face.
00:49Underneath all of that was this incredibly sweet cat just waiting to feel safe.
00:55She has this hilarious way of running where she looks like a tiny deer hopping around the room on those
01:03long legs of hers.
01:05And even though she had been through so much, she just wanted love and attention constantly.
01:10She's dealing with a lot medically though.
01:12She had a really bad upper respiratory infection.
01:16Unfortunately, her recovery and medication may take up to 6 to 12 months or even longer.
01:21That's part of why I decided to keep her at the cat cafe instead of bringing her back home.
01:26At the cat cafe, she gets to explore and run around and build her strength, build her muscle.
01:32And every day you see her confidence grow just a little bit more.
01:37She can feel safe and loved and cared for.
01:41And hopefully when she's finally healthy and ready one day, she'll find the perfect forever home too.
01:49To see you on the end of the video.
