00:00When a child was checking the rain gauge on their property, they noticed a tiny dark blob
00:04at the end of it.
00:05They alerted their parents, who called professionals, to come get the black blob out.
00:15After a short rescue mission, a little forest bat popped out of the rain gauge.
00:30She immediately took him back to her house to start his rehab.
00:34Tracy named him Houdini because he always found the best hiding spots in his little area.
00:40Houdini had a three-day stay at Tracy's Bat Hospital where he got his strength up.
00:46She made sure that he was proper weight.
00:51She made sure that he was flying properly as well after his stay in the rain gauge.
00:58He ate some more to get his strength up.
01:04And finally, he was deemed by being released back to the wild.
01:13Since microbats are highly social animals, they have to go back to where they were found.
01:21Because there's often family and friends waiting for them there.
01:26Tracy waited until the night to give him the best shot at finding his family.
01:47It took him a moment to recalibrate exactly where he was.
