00:00Charles Davis, Brandon Gawden, it's the Falcons in possession to begin corner number two
00:04as we'll see one following the score on the final play before break.
00:34Here's Bosher to kick it away.
00:41This is taken at the three.
00:44And he'll take this across the 25, a couple extra yards, up to the 27-yard line.
00:50The Falcons' defense gearing up as they take the field.
00:54They're hoping to do what they did last time, force another punt.
00:56Last time it resulted in a field goal. We'll see if they can get another stop here, though.
01:00And the best defenses are in the business of preventing points and creating points.
01:04And that's exactly what these guys did on their last possession.
01:07Why? Because they got off the field on three and out,
01:10turned the ball over to their offense, out to the punt,
01:13and let them roll downfield, put the ball through the post for a field goal.
01:25They go play action here on first down, backing up.
01:30Still back there. He's going to air one out.
01:34And it pops free. The collision there, jarred the ball loose and brings up second down.
01:40But they went for the big play there.
01:42But that drop could really hurt their momentum.
02:00Winston gives to the tailback Martin.
02:02And nowhere to run on the interior of that defensive line.
02:06He'll get back only to the line of scrimmage.
02:09We know today's NFL is really built around the guy throwing the football.
02:13But these short runs, they still pay dividends
02:15because they can take their toll on a defense
02:17and they can add up as the game goes along.
02:20You control the clock. You control the ball.
02:22And that way, you often control the game.
02:29On third down, Winston.
02:31He's got time. Nowhere to escape.
02:34And he goes down.
02:36Adrian Claiborne.
02:38With a big-time sack on third down.
02:41And it'll be a loss of seven.
02:43Great job defensively.
02:45I think he was trying to go through his progressions,
02:47find someone to get rid of the football.
02:48Before he knew it, he was on his back.
02:50So that just brings us right back to what you said in the beginning.
02:52A great job defensively.
02:53Nowhere to go with the football.
02:55That led to the sack.
03:06Here's Brian Anger now as the drive goes backwards.
03:10So he's on to punt it away.
03:18He's been a busy man here in this first half as he gets it away.
03:23He can in at the 22.
03:24He won't go down.
03:27So we'll change in possession here on the punt.
03:30And out will come the offense as they take over.
03:47Atlanta now coming out on the field.
03:50And they split the uprights last time for three.
03:52They've got the lead.
03:53They're not going to play this conservative.
03:55They're not hoping for another field goal.
03:57They're hoping for a touchdown.
03:58I'm with you on that one.
03:59I like where your head is.
04:00I like the way you're thinking.
04:02And that's caught inside the 35.
04:05A very solid gain of 27.
04:09A great job pulling that one in from a guy, as we know,
04:13who can really blaze.
04:14He's got a lot of speed.
04:15And that speed can work for him so many different ways.
04:18Sometimes he just takes off and goes.
04:20Just runs past people.
04:21Sometimes you get people to back off so far
04:24that you can catch everything underneath.
04:25But still, at some point in the game,
04:28you probably have to make some contested catches, right?
04:30Sometimes you have to go up and beat a defender for the football.
04:33He has that in his arsenal as well.
04:35Showed it right there.
04:44Now a play fake here on first down.
04:47Finding time.
04:49He's going to try and go deep again.
04:51And a double coverage.
04:52And it's intercepted.
04:54A great read, and it's picked off.
04:56And a big turnover there,
04:58as his guys will get the football back.
05:00That was a really nice interception.
05:02I think it illustrates the differences
05:04between playing man and playing zone.
05:05When you're in man,
05:07all you're focused on is the receiver in front of you.
05:09But when you're in zone,
05:10you're allowed to read the quarterback's eyes
05:12and go to the ball.
05:14That's exactly what happened on that play.
05:29And now the Buccaneers' offense gets set to head back onto the field.
05:34And last drive, three and out.
05:35Still a goose egg on the scoreboard.
05:38How do they break that goose egg?
05:39They've got to find a way
05:41to get the ball in the hands of their playmakers.
05:43Get them some space.
05:45And try and make a first down
05:47and get some momentum going.
05:48It's been a struggle for them throughout the game.
05:51And that three and out on the last possession,
05:53that told you just how stalled they are on offense.
05:56So who will step up here?
05:57We'll see.
06:13One man on the backfield.
06:15That's Martin.
06:18And he'll get it up the middle.
06:20He chucks him aside.
06:22Bumped him.
06:23And they'll get him down up past the 15.
06:2618 yards on the pickup.
06:28And it's good enough for a Tampa Bay first.
06:31And that run was what a lot of people call an explosive run.
06:35Gave him good yardage, solid yardage.
06:37They feel good about the whole thing.
06:38And they did it behind a two-tight end set.
06:41It's always interesting to watch
06:42what offenses want to do with the two tight ends.
06:44Sometimes they line them up together for a power set.
06:47Sometimes they put one on each side of the line of scrimmage
06:50to balance things out.
06:51No matter what, though,
06:52when you see two tight ends on the field,
06:54your first thought is to think run.
06:55In this case, the offense was able to run successfully.
07:01First out.
07:02Here's the run with Martin.
07:03And he'll get across the 20,
07:05but only to about the 22-yard line.
07:07Call it a gain of four on first,
07:09and that'll make it second down.
07:10When you find that kind of yardage,
07:12you couldn't be more confident as a ball carrier.
07:14And guess what?
07:15You're going to go back and tell your offensive coordinator,
07:17I'd like to keep carrying it.
07:18Six yards to go here on second down.
07:32Winston with a give to Martin.
07:36And not too much going there
07:37as he'll get it up to the 23-yard line.
07:40Call it a gain of a yard,
07:41and it's going to bring up third and five.
08:06And the offense in that middle ground here on third down.
08:10Third and five.
08:11One receiver left,
08:13three to the right.
08:18Jameis to throw it.
08:20Now they go screen.
08:21It's complete.
08:22And they'll bring him down at the 27-yard line.
08:26A short gain there of just four.
08:27That'll bring up a fourth down.
08:30Pedal took the screen pass on third down,
08:32and for a second,
08:33it looked like it was all going to come together,
08:34and they had a chance to pick up a first down.
08:36But the defense got there and finished it off.
08:41Here's Brian Anger now.
08:43He's been one of their few bright spots so far.
08:52He gets this one away,
08:54and boy, it's another boomer.
08:57Taking about the 16.
09:00Spinning again.
09:01Sheds a second man.
09:03He's building up some momentum, isn't he?
09:05A very good return that time.
09:0618 yards,
09:08and the offense will take over
09:10with a new set of downs.
09:11He's building up some momentum.
09:22He's building up some momentum.
09:23He's building up some momentum.
09:25He's building up some momentum.
09:27He's building up some momentum.
09:27He's building up some momentum.
09:29He's building up some momentum.
09:30He's building up some momentum.
09:30He's building up some momentum.
09:30He's building up some momentum.
09:30He's building up some momentum.
09:32He's building up some momentum.
09:33He's building up some momentum.
09:36He's building up some momentum.
09:38He's building up some momentum.
09:42The drive will start with a carry by Devontae Freeman.
09:45He'll get about four as he's past the 35 to the 38-yard line.
09:50Tackle made by Chris Conte.
09:52It'd be hard to say that a defense wouldn't be ready for a first down run.
09:55When you can game that kind of yardage against a defense,
09:58it's really kind of geared to stop that play.
10:00Your confidence has to rise, and now you've actually opened up your playbook.
10:04If you want to throw the ball now for play action, you're good to go.
10:13On second down, here's Ryan.
10:16And it's complete to Jacob Tamming.
10:19And he's taken down, but not before he gets this.
10:22In the enemy territory across the 40.
10:25So on that play, defense was in the zone.
10:27They ran a crossing route offensively, but the defense there,
10:30you've got to be good with communication, don't you?
10:33You certainly do, and it's not something that is really evident
10:35when you watch it on the screen.
10:37But everyone's talking, communicating, pointing,
10:40and it keeps you from chasing receivers
10:43because you have a specific zone you have to cover.
10:46When a receiver's in your zone and he crosses to another one,
10:48you've got to let your guy know.
10:50They've got a completion there, but I like the discipline they show
10:53to stay in their proper areas and then make the tackle.
11:01Now Ryan going to give it to Freeman.
11:04And running room scarce here.
11:06He's going to be stopped in his tracks at the line of scrimmage.
11:09The veteran linebacker, Darryl Smith, there to bring him down.
11:13So nothing there, but maybe you blame that on the blocking.
11:15Yeah, at some point, you've got to win at the point.
11:17You've got to win at the point.
