00:00...for a loss of eight, and it'll be fourth down.
00:03And we say it all the time, have to be able to get rid of the ball sooner than that.
00:08You have to help your offensive line out.
00:10They're going to protect you as best they can.
00:12And if you get three to five seconds to throw the ball, they're doing a really nice job.
00:16But when you hold it and give up a sack, you're really almost discrediting their work.
00:29Here's Matt Bosher now, on for his second punt.
00:33He'd take a repeat of his first.
00:39He gets this one away, and boy, it's another boomer.
00:44So quick on the spin.
00:46He's spinning, man.
00:47That's going to go in the books as a 55-yard punt.
00:51Well done.
00:52And the offense will come back onto the field for the first and ten.
00:56Out onto the field comes New Orleans.
00:59And last time out, they had to punt the football away.
01:02Anything positive possibly to take from that?
01:04There always is when you're punting the football away.
01:07It doesn't sound like it because you're giving it up.
01:10But you've avoided a mistake.
01:12At least you didn't turn it over, I guess.
01:13You didn't turn it over, right?
01:14You're giving your defense a chance because you're punting the ball away.
01:19And they're set to go on the field as opposed to sudden change after a turnover.
01:23Wow.
01:24Now you've got to go out there and stop people.
01:25So, yeah, there's always something bonds would be gained from it.
01:28Credit him with a one-yard gain there to make it second and nine.
01:33A one-yard gain could look like a disaster.
01:35But it all depends on how the game is going.
01:38Is it a series of one-yard gains running the ball?
01:41If that's the case, you might have to start thinking about throwing it a little bit more.
01:44But if it's just the occasional one-yard run, hey, congratulations to the defense.
01:48They won that one.
01:49Come back and get them the next time.
01:54Again, they'll run with Ingram.
01:56And he is met at the line of scrimmage, and he goes down right there.
02:00Only a yard in the pickup there, and it'll bring up a third down.
02:04Tough day.
02:05Tough sledding right there.
02:06And it's been that way the entire game.
02:09Not a whole lot of room to ramble for him.
02:11Yeah, you're right.
02:12It's been that way all afternoon.
02:13Didn't get a whole lot better there.
02:15Tighten your right.
02:16Tighten your right.
02:16And defensively, it's a nickel formation here on third down and nine.
02:22From the gun on third down, Breeze.
02:25And he's got Snead.
02:27And he takes this one just shy of midfield all the way to the 49.
02:33The goal of every offense is to move the chains, pick up first downs.
02:37A nice job finding an open receiver for a completion.
02:58They come up with one back.
03:00That's Ingram.
03:00Hey, hey, hey.
03:02Go down, go down, go down.
03:05And they'll give it to him here.
03:07Oh, what a move.
03:08And he'll get this into enemy territory, but not by much as he's down to the 48.
03:15I do know from experience that when you slow down someone's running game, you're not doing
03:19the dictating on defense.
03:21And guess what?
03:22Now you're getting ready to tee off on their quarterback because they have to throw it all
03:24the time.
03:25But you still have to be alert for the draws and other plays of that nature to make sure
03:29you don't get hurt.
03:36Breeze to throw on second down.
03:38That is incomplete.
03:54Third down at eight now.
03:55Tight and lift.
03:56Tight and lift.
03:59Four down.
04:00Four down.
04:01Breeze.
04:02Five by five.
04:03Three set.
04:04Three set.
04:04From the gun.
04:05It's Breeze.
04:07He's got time in the pocket.
04:08To the sideline.
04:10And oh, a nice catch there.
04:12Made sure the feet were inbounds.
04:14And they were.
04:18Hitting offense.
04:41Here's Thomas Morstead now as he'll punt it away for the second time.
04:5444 on his first punt.
04:56And this is a good kick as well.
04:58Out of bounds and close.
04:59The question, was it a touchback?
05:01No.
05:02They'll say it crossed out at the two-yard line.
05:11The Saints defense.
05:12We watched them get set to go.
05:14They forced the punt the last time.
05:16Got off the field.
05:17I'm sure some of your decoordinators through the years, you liked when you heard those words.
05:21Get off the field.
05:22Oh, there's no doubt.
05:23Maybe you didn't like it when you heard those words.
05:25It depended on when they were yelling them.
05:27But in this situation, absolutely perfect.
05:30Get off the field.
05:31Force a punt.
05:32Let the offense take over and do their thing.
05:34And it resulted in a field goal.
05:36Now we'll see if they can do that again.
05:40Very tough spot here for the offense to start.
05:46Alone to the right is Jones.
05:51Now Ryan back into his end zone.
05:54Deep drop.
05:55And this one completes a Levine Toilolo.
05:58A good pick up there.
05:59Eight yards on the first half completion.
06:03Seeing that play and understanding just how tough it is to cover tight ends,
06:06especially the ones running around the NFL nowadays,
06:09makes me glad I didn't make it in that league.
06:11I went on a really difficult time.
06:13But now you get to sit up here with me.
06:15Yeah, and that's fun, isn't it?
06:16And what a really nice game right there on first down for them.
06:19Brings up a nice second down for them.
06:23Off the play fake to Freeman.
06:25It's Ryan.
06:27He completes it to Julio Jones.
06:30Fifteen yards through the air on a first down.
06:34I know that's their first connection in this game.
06:37But you and I both know that Julio Jones is without a doubt
06:40his quarterback's favorite target.
06:42Oh, yeah.
06:42Matt Ryan loves this guy.
06:44And who wouldn't?
06:44Yeah, and the reason that he's that is because of his dependability.
06:48And quarterbacks have to have that from their receivers,
06:50meaning they know where they're going to be when they're running certain routes.
06:54They don't break them on them.
06:55They don't change them up and do their own freelance stuff
06:58and put their quarterbacks in bad situations.
07:00Matt Ryan has ultimate trust in Julio Jones.
07:08This is Freeman on first and ten.
07:11And he will lose yardage and be backed up to the 24.
07:15It's a loss of a yard there and now second down.
07:37So now 11 yards to go for this offensive unit.
07:40It's second down.
07:41A touchdown apiece here in this first quarter of play.
07:45It's a tight game here early.
07:47We'll head back to New Orleans after this.
07:53Alongside Charles Davis, Brandon Gawden,
07:55it's the Falcons in possession to begin quarter number two.
07:59But they face a second and long to start things out.
08:24And he'll be brought down here at the 28.
08:28Four yards on the pickup there as they get it back to a more manageable third and seven.
08:33On a second and long,
08:34it's really nice to see an offense that has enough confidence to run the football in that situation.
08:39I think that goes back to their practice and game planning.
08:42They've seen things that they've seen on tape and in previous games
08:45that led them to believe that even in a long-distance situation,
08:49they can still run the football and gain enough yardage to put themselves in a good spot on third down.
08:53It's caught.
08:55Jones.
08:56And they get 14 yards there at a first down.
08:59I don't care how many times we see it,
09:01I still get a kick out of watching quarterbacks and receivers do the pass tree in pregame warm-up.
09:06But I always remember that when we go to practices,
09:09we see that after practices as well.
09:12They really tune it up, don't they?
09:13They tune it up.
09:14They know why they do it for these situations.
09:16First down.
09:17And they build that trust,
09:18and that's why they're able to find him in this type of a situation.
09:26Throwing now, Ryan on first down.
09:29Quick hitter here, it's complete.
09:31Give him a couple on the catch, it's second and eight.
09:54And here comes play number six on this drive.
10:05On second down, here's Ryan.
10:10And he's just going to get rid of this thing.
10:13To no one here, he throws it away, and now it's third.
10:17NFL quarterbacks work so hard on their mechanics,
10:20and they do so much repetition and practice, offseason, the whole deal.
10:25They expect it to be autopilot once the games start.
10:28That way it eliminates any type of pressure of the game,
10:31pressure of people in your face, all of that.
10:33But that didn't shine through on that throw, did it?
10:36No.
10:36A little bit of a dangerous pass and off target, too.
10:39Going underneath, it's Coleman.
10:41And he'll get it out to midfield.
10:43Looks like, yeah, they'll spot it right at midfield at the 50.
10:46So much about offense is what we call hidden yardage.
10:49You know, you throw the ball to someone, they catch it,
10:52and then they can make a big play.
10:54You know, they create a play, run after catch.
10:57They did a really nice job there of limiting that
10:59and keeping it from the first down.
11:00Yeah, stopped him in his tracks.
11:01There's Matt Bosher now.
11:04He'll boot it away from about his 35.
11:09And he gets it away.
11:11A directional kick going toward the sideline.
11:13And this will be out of bounds,
11:15and they spot it at the 15-yard line.
11:18Not too bad.
11:19Out onto the field comes New Orleans.
11:22And a tight...
