00:20I thought he rode great that first moto,
00:22but statistically, he is better in the second moto.
00:25I suspect the number 30 is going to be up near that front
00:27if he gets a great start.
00:30And so many contenders that everyone talked about.
00:32No one talked about this one.
00:33Nick Romano, who was just hoping to stay on with his team
00:36as a fill-in rider, was running in a podium position
00:39for a lot of moto one and ended up fifth.
00:41So a solid performance by the rider from New York City.
00:45And let's see if he can continue that.
00:47And if he does, I think you're going to be seeing him
00:49racing for this squad throughout this year
00:50and maybe even next.

01:37Rough start that first moto, so better start for him.
01:39We saw him earlier today having some speed,
01:42being your third fastest qualifier.
01:44Good start for him.

01:48He was on the far inside gate, close to it,
01:50so was able to sneak around.
01:52And you got the second moto, first moto,
01:54finished second place.
01:55Seth Hamaker up there in a good position.

02:01the last year and a half has been the starts.
02:04Wasn't a great one in moto one,
02:05but not bad enough to stop him.

02:13When you have that speed, you come out,

03:57and your teammate was on the ground.

04:03What a comeback.
04:04Julian Beaumont broke his back early
04:07in the SMX playoffs last year
04:09and was told, first doctor he went to,
04:12you're not even going to touch a motorcycle
04:13for 12 months,
04:14which would have been September of this year.
04:16Well, here we are in May,
04:18and he's not just on a motorcycle.
04:19He is leading the best in the business
04:24out on track he's logged a lot of laps on.
04:26But he pushes back against that.
04:27He believes he can get it done anywhere.
04:29Right now, he's getting it done for sure here.
04:32Yeah, he's getting it done.
04:33And the biggest thing,
04:33he's always had speed.
04:34It's just really the injuries.
04:36And I said earlier,
04:37when that doctor said that,
04:38he probably said,
04:39have a nice day
04:40because we believe
04:41and we can overcome anything.
04:43And with Julian,
04:44like, you just stay out here.
04:45You know he's good at this track
04:47and you never know what might happen
04:49if you roll this thing off.
04:51Great start, though.
04:52Kanan Dudley is third.
04:54That's the rookie
04:54who is very strong in moto one.
04:56Now, the overall results
04:58are probably going to get quite jumbled

05:01and some of the good contenders
05:03that we saw in moto one
05:04who have bad starts now
05:06begin to move forward.
05:07But at least at the moment,
05:08you're looking at a Hamaker,
05:10Beaumare, Duffy podium.
05:13Yeah, that door is open.
05:14They've all kicked it in.
05:15And look how close it is.
05:17You know, and these rookies right here,
05:19they'll only get better.
05:21First moto, you know,
05:22solid finish now in that top three
05:24and no real pressure behind him.
05:26So if he can just keep it going,

06:16it to the racetrack.

06:31with these young guys,
06:32just that confidence
06:33to believe just one finish,
06:35it can propel you
06:36to a whole different level.

08:54it's really costly
08:55for Levi.

08:58a pile up
08:58on those opening laps.

09:18Star Racing wanted it to.

09:22for pro motocross
09:23and let's come out
09:24swinging there.
09:24And Weech,
09:25it's hard to argue
09:26with his qualifying performance
09:27and the way he's riding
09:28right now
09:28that he's not coming out
09:30swinging at the opener.
09:31Well,
09:31he is.
09:32And JT,
09:32a lot of people
09:33are talking about
09:34what they saw
09:35even with his social media
09:36clips about fast
09:37he was going
09:37in the preseason.
09:39But you never know
09:40if that's going to mean
09:41anything come race day,
09:42but he's making it reality
09:44now
09:45because he could be
09:46on the overall podium.
09:47He's right in the fight for it.
09:48But the rider to watch
09:49is actually Davies.
09:51Cole Davies
09:51has climbed to fifth
09:52and that would be enough
09:54to get him to second overall.
09:56And for Davies,
09:57definitely wants
09:58to win this title.

10:02on maybe not his best day.
10:04Davies just putting

10:06That's exactly what he did
10:07during the Supercross
10:08and you got to know
10:09like he didn't race a lot
10:10last year
10:10so he's only going
10:12to get better
10:13and if he brings
10:13that confidence
10:14from Supercross
10:15it might end well
10:16because he ended up
10:17winning a championship
10:17pretty easily over there.

10:20didn't start
10:21the Supercross season
10:22on fire
10:22and took to round three
10:23to get a win.

10:27I think a lot of the reason
10:28that people don't really
10:29want to have him
10:30on their bingo card
10:31here for the outdoor season
10:32is because last year
10:34well, it wasn't good
10:35but at the same time
10:36he didn't really
10:37get a chance
10:37to show it.

10:39for a few rounds
10:40at the end.
10:40He was coming off injury.
10:42He talked to me yesterday
10:43and said how he wasn't
10:44prepared because of that injury
10:46wasn't able to set the bike up
10:47so they were behind on that
10:49and so just, you know,
10:50he kind of scrambled
10:50his way through
10:51those last rounds there
10:52and I think a lot of people
10:54think, oh, well,
10:54in that case
10:55he's the Supercross guy
10:56but he reminded me too
10:57he's from New Zealand
10:58and he was on motocross
11:01just like everybody else
11:02kind of growing up.
11:03He said really
11:03it was only when Ben Townley
11:04sort of took him under his wing
11:06and started teaching him
11:07the Supercross skills there
11:09but that's where
11:10he switched over to.
11:11There are very few
11:11Supercross tracks
11:12in New Zealand
11:13near where he lives
11:14and so he said
11:15I grew up a monokit
11:16so I think it's kind of
11:17narrative
11:18that that's not
11:19where his skill set is.
11:21He's out to plumb
11:22all of those people wrong
11:23and he's doing
11:23a great job here
11:24especially if he hangs
11:25on to this overall second.

12:16to perhaps supply

12:22they want to lease
12:23the components
12:25but the rumor
12:26is that some
12:27of these young
12:27250 riders
12:28will just move over
12:29to a KTM 250
12:30factory team

12:32that DeFrancisco

12:34are going to be okay
12:35and have a home
12:36next year

12:37other riders

12:39who are going to be

17:15the rehab that he had
17:16to do was basically
17:17two weeks long with

17:21Lawrence's physio he
17:23said he was there
17:24every single day
17:25Monday to Friday
17:26for two weeks
17:27straight go in there
17:28in the morning three
17:29hours of therapy go
17:30get some lunch come
17:31back for two to three
17:31more hours of therapy
17:33and this is away from
17:34home in California so
17:34we couldn't even go
17:35home further at this
17:37point so really
17:37committed to getting
17:39back here to racing
17:40fitness but when I
17:42said to him kind of
17:42you know what toll
17:43does that take he
17:44said didn't really
17:45matter because at the
17:46end of the day I
17:47need to come here
17:47knowing that I have
17:48done everything that
17:49night possibly
17:50couldn't for Seth
17:50right now guys that
17:51is paying off big

21:27He adapts and doesn't usually make the same mistake over and over and he definitely won't stay in the same

21:47That would be the first overall podium for all three riders have acres Davies and Dundee

21:57You mentioned how fleeting that confidence could be after those tough Supercross races
22:02That'll be gone. Dundee can hold on for a podium. Yeah, it will be you know
22:06It's maybe not like the pro circuit where you solidify a ride because you know
22:10Bobby has a lot of guys up there looking for that opportunity for him
22:14You know, I I believe it's a lot. You see just these little gains as

24:01Now he was really turning the corner at supercross becoming a top 10 top 5 guy
24:05Now he's trying to challenge and move towards the top 5 in pro motocross
24:09It's just a remarkable story of a guy that wasn't even good enough in this sport to be doing it

24:19Also, this is no disrespect to that bar axe yamaha team
24:22But in pro motocross having the factory full engine is such a huge advantage

24:35But there are tricks that the top teams have and he's taking it right to all those guys

27:01It's already a 10 point gap to a guy like cole davies and you think about the other people that
27:07we can
27:08We consider contenders that joe shimota's the we buy kitchens
27:12It's not that they're necessarily riding poorly, but they're not having a great points day
27:16So is this going to be the only that seth hammer going to be super consistent build up this huge
27:21lead?
27:21Or is it going to be this yo-yo effect where a lot of 30 point days and who can
27:26manage the best of those?
27:28It still really feels like 20 25 or prior where inconsistency will reign

28:20This third place wrapped up in this moto because kate's gonna start just trying to hold on top five finish

28:26It'd be a great day all these riders
28:28They know their competition um and probably what their mindset is so great route by both these guys
28:34De francisco third in the moto that would be a career best for him. I feel like today where we're
28:39constantly
28:40Mentioning career best. Maybe that is the effect of deegan moving out of the class
28:46De francisco would after the tough first moto what might have been he was up there
28:51on the first lap of the first moto then crashed
28:53All the way back to the last was just able to get it inside the points a good bounce back
28:59for him here
29:01Nineteenth in moto one and third
29:03In moto two, yeah, i'm sure he came in this season, you know whether he said it out in publicly
29:08but inside
29:09Probably felt like just a great opportunity for him especially all for that supercross season and I know the results
29:15haven't been there
29:16But he's we're stubborn, you know, he's always had speed and to have that opportunity and know who you're going
29:22to race against
29:22He's beat everybody in this field straight up and down. So it's not like he's afraid of anybody
29:28Opportunity that might be now that first moto was tough for him, but great bounce back for him
29:32set him up soon
29:34We have found levi kitchen
29:36He's into the point 16th right now
29:38He's got landed gordon right in front of him and every position he can make from here on out would

33:27They both of those guys got around well, they're ahead of cole davies
33:30So he can get him as I was saying that championship mentality and just that grit
33:36That chance hymas and it'll go a long ways for him if he can get around uh
33:42Dudney right here now we're saying it's going to be tough for kitchen to make up
33:46Six seconds and two laps, but guess what he just went three seconds faster than max bollin the last time

33:51So he can replicate that and make the pass he could salvage the podium. I don't know if having or
33:58Cares about any of this he's headed to the wind and I don't know if hymas
