00:00Let's check in with Rochelle now for more in tonight's weather forecast.
00:04Thank you, Alicia. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago.
00:07You know what day it is because all of those who saw me today made sure to let me know
00:12that it's Friday and it's also time for your weather.
00:16Now, as we're only a couple days away from June, the 2026 Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service hurricane season forecast
00:24predicts that around three tropical storms could form near Trinidad and Tobago.
00:29With two to five storms possible, about one storm may become a hurricane, although there could be none or up
00:37to two hurricanes.
00:39Storm activity is expected to be lower in June and July and increase later in the season.
00:45While this forecast does not show where storms will make landfall, any storm that forms in the region, that's this
00:52area right here,
00:53could still affect Trinidad and Tobago and the Eastern Caribbean.
00:57So now is the perfect time to start preparation.
01:01And of course, we will keep you updated with everything you need to know right here on your favorite weather
01:07forecast.
01:08Now, moving on to what you can expect tonight.
01:11Tonight will be hazy with a light breeze with one or two brisk showers in a few areas with minimum
01:17temperatures of 25 degrees in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago.
01:20And if you're celebrating Indian arrival day with friends and family tomorrow, the Met Office says conditions will be sunny
01:27and hazy during the morning and will give way to cloudy periods with intermittent showers by early afternoon.
01:34There's a medium chance of a heavy shower in a few areas.
01:38Daytime temperatures will come in at 32 degrees in both islands.
01:42And guess who's giving us a bit of an ease-up for the holiday?
01:46Yes, it's Saharan dust with only a mild to moderate concentration expected and you can see that right here on
01:53this graphic.
01:54Now, of course, prisons are urged to take all the necessary precautions.
01:58Now, here's when we will be starting back our week.
02:02Sunday will give us cloudy periods with occasional showers with a medium chance of a heavy shower.
02:08And Monday, conditions will clear up a bit with sunny, hazy and breezy conditions over most areas but with a
02:14few showers that can become heavy over southern areas of Trinidad.
02:19So, put those umbrellas where you can find them.
02:21Now, to our sun times in Trinidad, sunrise is at 542 and 538 in Tobago and sunset at 624 in
02:29Trinidad and 621 in Tobago.
02:31And if the beach is on the agenda for the weekend, seas will be moderate with waves 1.5 meters
02:37to 2 meters in open waters and below 1 meter in sheltered areas.
02:41It's now time for Daytime.
02:55Well, that's all for weather tonight.
02:58Happy Indian Arrival Day in advance.
03:00And remember to have a safe, fun and blessed weekend.
03:04Sachin, I'm passing tomorrow.
