00:04It's my pleasure to welcome today Philippe Piron, electrification CEO at GE Vernova.
00:10Philippe, thank you very much for joining me here today.
00:12Firstly, I'd like to ask you, tell us a bit about what are the main factors driving electrification growth today?
00:18Electricity demand is accelerating in ways this industry has not seen in decades.
00:22And what makes this moment unique is that that growth is happening simultaneously across every major regions in the world,
00:30each with its own distinct growth driver.
00:33In North America, for example, this acceleration is fueled by AI factories, data centers.
00:38In Europe, it is the energy transition.
00:41And across the Middle East and Asia, it is more the rapid industrial development and the great modernization.
00:46It's really a unique moment.
00:47You mentioned AI there, which we know is indeed creating an unprecedented surge in energy demand.
00:53How does this make you think or rethink about energy infrastructure?
00:57AI is a structural transformation.
00:59Ten years ago, we were talking about 350 megawatts.
01:02Today, we are working on 1 to 5 gigawatts per data centers.
01:06And these customers are not just asking for more power.
01:09They are asking for guaranteed power on compressed timelines with zero tolerances for interruption.
01:15That changes everything about how infrastructure must be designed, financed, and delivered.
01:21Well, then how is G-Vernova addressing this?
01:23Well, at G-Vernova, we have built what we call Power to Rack, a fully integrated architecture that spans the
01:30entire value chain,
01:31from power generation and grid connectivity to grid power stability through transmission and power distribution infrastructure,
01:39all the way to power delivery inside the data centers itself.
01:43No other company can offer that end-to-end capability at this scale.
01:48And in a world where customers need certainty, not just capacity, that integration is not a simple feature.
01:54It is the answer.
01:56Well, now I'd like to ask you from a customer's perspective,
01:58what should they be looking for in a partner to help them scale?
02:01What utilities and hyperscalers should look for in a scaling partner comes to three non-negotiables.
02:09Energy security, energy affordability, and energy sustainability.
02:14Security because we are obviously operating in a world of increasing geopolitical complexity
02:20where infrastructure resilience is no longer a contingency plan but a strategic requirement.
02:26Energy affordability because technology has to work economically, not just technically.
02:30Without affordability, the energy transition will stall.
02:34And obviously, energy sustainability because it is not a separate agenda for us.
02:39Tell us, what are your expectations at VivaTech this year?
02:42I would say that our partnership with VivaTech reflects the green convergence of energy and technology.
02:47In 2026, we see this as the opportunity to bring Givanova's perspective to the forefront through our speaking sessions,
02:55helping shape the conversation around the famous layer cake of AI, energy, chipset, systems, application.
