00:00or insects were harmed in the making of this program
00:02and that none of the training you're about to see
00:04be attempted unless under expert supervision
00:078 braineese, 1 challenge
00:20to use complex mass of 100 billion cells
00:24we call brain for chance to win
00:26brain jutsu black brain belt
00:28this is brain jutsu
00:36born in lancashire
00:38trained in japan with mind
00:40as sharp as samurai sword
00:41he is brain master
00:43he is the sensei
00:45konnichiwa
00:47and welcome to brain jutsu
00:49mental training
00:52specially designed to boost
00:54brain power and focus
00:55my trainees or braineese have been following a basic program of training in the comfort of their own home
01:02a brain boosting routine of exercise
01:06sleep
01:07and enough fruit and veg to stock a greengrocer's
01:11i really want to win the black belt because it will give me like more dignity and give me more
01:14self-confidence
01:15we've done so much training to be honest calm me down a lot
01:19i really want the black belt
01:21now my braineese must put their training into practice by testing a part of the brain we use every day
01:27level one
01:29you're no fault
01:32take a look at my very cluttered garage
01:34now try to find the little rubber duck
01:38spotted eh?
01:39congratulations
01:40you've just used your occipital lobes
01:43this area
01:45this area
01:45the seeing part of our brain
01:46allows us to recognise and separate images from each other
01:50the seven braineese who use their occipital lobes the best
01:53will be allowed to enter my brain jutsu dojo
01:56where their training will continue
01:58the one who fails
02:00will be left outside
02:01oh
02:02feel the burn
02:04enter the dojo
02:08our braineese must answer four questions by studying the different faces on the board in front of them
02:15get them right and they'll be left with a four digit code
02:18which they must then use to unlock a piece of brain and secure their place in the dojo
02:24but with only seven pieces of brain and eight braineese
02:27one of either Hayden, Ella, Arjun, Grace, Hayley, Danraj, Jack or Reece
02:34will be left outside and eliminated
02:39a bang of the gong reveals the four questions
02:43how many green smiley faces are there?
02:51how many faces have freckles?
03:00how many yellow smiley faces are there?
03:12how many faces have one of you?
03:19the answer our braineese a looking for
03:44It looks like Arjun is. He has to return to the noodle bar for a second helping.
03:51Hayden and Reese haven't yet moved, really working those occipital lobes in search of
03:55the right combination. And it's Ella who's first to unlock a piece of brain with Dan
04:00Raj hot on her heels. Don't forget the code our brainies are looking for is 1694, as there
04:08is one green smiley face, six faces with freckles, nine yellow smiley faces and four faces with
04:15one ear. With two more brainies now through to the dojo, that leaves Hayden, Hayley, Grace
04:23and Jack to fight it out for the last three places. And it looks like some are really struggling.
04:29Come on brainies, keep that focus. With our brainies going backwards and forwards more
04:37times than a tennis rally, Jack at last pops up on his lock, followed by Hayley, which
04:45just leaves Hayden and Grace. Suffering sumos, Hayden still hasn't got that combination. Can
04:52Grace now grab her opportunity? But she's not got it either. Surely Hayden can't slip up
04:59again? No chance. And as his piece of brain slots home, it's Hayden who's in and Grace who's
05:08out. While seven have proved themselves worthy of entering the dojo and continuing their brain
05:17training, for Grace, it's the end of the road. I'm a bit disappointed, but it was hard though,
05:25it was quite hard. It required a lot of concentrating. The question I found really hard was to face
05:30his head one ear because usually you got mixed up with two ears, so it was hard. So with six
05:36others to go, it's time for Ella, Danraj, Arjun, Reece, Jack, Hayley and Hayden to receive their
05:44yellow brain belts. I was so nervous sitting there because you could just hear the bits of brain
05:49drop and I was like, that's another person. You have to hurry up. I feel really relieved that I'm here
05:55right now and I just, I just prayed and prayed that I wouldn't have to go so early in the
06:00stage of the game.
06:03Brain titan! In this next level of training, things are going to get really hard. Level two, orange belt.
06:13We do things every day without even thinking about it, like using the remote control for the tele.
06:19But try turning up the volume with the hand that you don't normally use. Go on, a lot more harder,
06:25isn't it?
06:26If you manage to do that, you're using part of your brain that deals with problem solving, the frontal lobes.
06:33And that's what level two is all about. Taking something you normally do without thinking and doing it differently.
06:41Work it!
06:42To prepare them for using their frontal lobes in this next challenge, our brainees are going to need some training.
06:48Room of Mental Nourishment.
06:52This is the Room of Mental Nourishment, where our young hopefuls will train their brains between every task.
06:58The more seriously they take their training, the better prepared they'll be for the challenges that lie ahead.
07:03And in level two, that challenge is all about getting their brains to think in a new way.
07:09Brain training. Write the name of the braineer you think will win the black belt. Write backwards using your hand
07:16you don't normally write with.
07:18So, our brainees are going to be made to really think about something, like writing, that they'd normally do without
07:24thinking.
07:24Which one are you going to choose for who's going to win the black belt?
07:27Hayley.
07:28This is pretty hard.
07:29That's the whole point Hayden. If it was easy, it wouldn't be giving your brain a workout.
07:34Who did you do?
07:35I done Jack.
07:37Why?
07:38Because I think he's a very intelligent boy.
07:41That's one vote for Jack. And another. Who's a popular boy then?
07:46Has anyone chosen me?
07:49Never mind Hayden, here's a brain tip.
07:53Picture the words in front of you before you write it.
07:56Think about each individual letter.
07:59If you want to work your frontal lobes and improve your all-round focus, writing backwards with your wrong hand
08:05is a great thing to do.
08:06But for Hayden, the exercise appears to have dented his confidence.
08:10You never know if you're going to win or not. You know there's stronger people out of everyone than you.
08:16And out of everyone here, I'm probably the weakest.
08:19You shouldn't really put yourself down.
08:21Will Hayden get over his confidence crisis and find his focus in time for the next round?
08:27And will front runner Jack live up to expectations?
08:30There's only one way to find out. It's time for our brainies to put their training to the test.
08:37Guardian of the dojo and task adjudicator the Sheehan will now demonstrate the level 2 challenge.
08:42Spell backwards. Step forward.
08:46To stand chance of gaining orange belt, 7 brainies must now think in reverse.
08:52Sheehan will show them picture. They have to say what is.
08:56That is cut. Then they spell word backwards. T-A-C.
09:03Get right and our brainies can step forward. Get wrong and they stay put.
09:08Brainies can choose length of word they want to spell backwards.
09:12Longer word. More time they get to answer.
09:15Three seconds for three letter word. Up to six seconds for six letters.
09:19More letters. More steps towards destination.
09:22There is slight advantage to going first in challenge.
09:26But order brainies take part is order they complete at level 1.
09:30Whoever not finished will be eliminated from the dojo.
09:34My brainy tip here is to imagine the whole word and then break it down into groups of letters.
09:41Who? Who?
09:42Work those frontal lobes.
09:48Four.
09:49First to try and get her brain thinking differently is Ella.
09:52Drum.
09:55R-M-M-U-R.
09:59But it's not the start she was hoping for.
10:02Three.
10:03Danraj meanwhile decides to play safe.
10:06Eight.
10:07R-A-E.
10:11Four.
10:14Lion.
10:14N-O-I-L.
10:17Lion.
10:18No hesitation for Arjun.
10:20Three.
10:22B.
10:23E-E-B.
10:26An easy beasy for Reece.
10:29Four.
10:31Next up is front runner Jack.
10:32Tank.
10:33K-N-A-T.
10:35Tank.
10:36And like the other boys it looks like his brain training has really paid off.
10:40Four.
10:42Duck.
10:44K.
10:45U.
10:46No.
10:47K-C-U.
10:49Hayley though comes unstuck with duck.
10:51It's now Hayden's turn.
10:52Four.
10:54Short on confidence after his training, can he now respond?
10:58Goat.
11:01T-A.
11:05Oh no.
11:06It's back to Ella.
11:08Three.
11:08K.
11:08Who this time gets off the mark.
11:11Mop.
11:11P-I-M.
11:14Mop.
11:14P-I-M.
11:14In fact, a runner correct answer sees all seven brainies make good progress.
11:20Worm.
11:21M-R-O-W.
11:23But it's Arjun who's first to step onto the podium and claim an orange belt.
11:29Front runner Jack comes in second.
11:32And with Dan Raj, Reece and Hayley also claiming a place in the next level, that just leaves Ella and
11:37Hayden to battle it out for the last orange belt.
11:41Fire.
11:44E-R-I-F.
11:46And with that word Hayden draws level.
11:49With both brainies now just a five letter word away from her place in the next round, Ella decides to
11:54gamble and get the job done.
11:56Five.
11:58Watch.
12:00H-C-T-A-W.
12:03H-C-T-A-W.
12:05And she gets it.
12:07For Hayden though, it's a sad sayonara as he must hand over his brain belt and leave the dojo.
12:15Walk of eternal regret.
12:18It's just hard to spell backwards.
12:21I couldn't do it.
12:22I'm really disappointed that I went but at the end of the day someone has to go and this time
12:27it was me.
12:31So with five levels to go, it's time for Ella, Dan Raj, Arjun, Reece, Jack and Hayley to get their
12:39orange brain belts.
12:41I'm really, really relieved that I got through last round because I'm not very good at spelling.
12:48I was neck and neck with Hayden so I just took a big risk and chose the five letter word
12:53and I felt really happy with myself after I'd done it.
12:57Brain T2.
13:01Brainy, not so brainy.
13:04Who's the clever clogs and whose brain needs a lot more training?
13:08Picture the scene, it's 250 years ago and a lad called Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is only six years old and
13:14already playing the obstacle, composing amazing music and performing it to the Empress of Austria.
13:20But did he stop there? No, he did not. He only went on to write another 600 major works. Not
13:25bad for someone who only lived to the age of 35.
13:29Wolfgang-tastic. Get a load of this. What a racket.
13:33TV challenge shows are bursting at the seams with tuneless musical wannabes desperate for fame.
13:38Mr. Mozart will be turning in his grave. Brainy, Mozart. Not so brainy. Musical wannabes.
13:47Brain Jitsu.
13:50Pressure in Brain Jitsu Dojo rising. Just six young hopeful remain to compete under watchful eye of Shihan.
13:58Ella, first to enter Dojo. Front runner, Jack.
14:03Reese, steady throughout.
14:04I really want to win the black belt because it will give me like more dignity and give me more
14:08self-confidence.
14:10Danraj, calm and collected.
14:12Hayley.
14:12I'm really really relieved that I got through last round.
14:16And Arjan, winner of last level.
14:19Challenge is about to get even tougher. Only two Brainy will make final test.
14:23Table of supreme focus. Where you must move ball with power of mind for chance to win.
14:30Brain Jitsu black brain belt. It's time for...
14:34Level three.
14:35Whiz belt.
14:37Now, we all like to chat. But did you know that using words to communicate is one of the main
14:43reasons why our brains have grown so incredibly powerful?
14:47And that having a conversation exercises both halves of the brain.
14:51Now, if all that's doing your head in, allow me to explain.
14:56Imagine you're the trumpet player in an orchestra.
15:00Your main focus is on your own notes.
15:03But the conductor, well, he has to listen for everyone's notes.
15:08It's the same with the brain.
15:10There's the left half, which deals with the details.
15:12And there's the right half, which looks at the overall picture.
15:15This next level of training strengthens my Brainy's focus by working one half of their brain under pressure.
15:23Hey! Pump it up!
15:26Room of Mental Nourishment.
15:30It's our Brainy's second visit to the Room of Mental Nourishment, where once again they'll train for the next challenge.
15:36Which, remember, is all about using the two halves of the brain to communicate.
15:42Brain training.
15:44Get into two groups.
15:45One Brainy describes how the blocks fit together. The other groups put them together.
15:50So, while one group will use the right side of their brain to explain how to make the shape,
15:55the other group must use the left side of their brain to interpret the words.
16:01Arjun gets the ball rolling.
16:02So, at the bottom, there's one brick, which has four, like, kind of cylinder things at the top,
16:10goes right at the bottom.
16:11But Dan Raj and Hayley are finding it hard to get a word in edgeways.
16:15Four blocks going, like, vertically or horizontally.
16:19It fits onto one side of the square.
16:21Not put off by Hayley's interruption, Arjun continues with his one-man show.
16:26The other side of the other... Red.
16:27Red.
16:28But in his enthusiasm, he seems to have forgotten that hand signals are of little use to a team who
16:33can't see you.
16:34Is it like a similar version of the two one?
16:36Yes.
16:38Meanwhile, Hayley's given up entirely.
16:41Is that what it's meant to look like?
16:43Let's see. Let's see. No.
16:44Put it almost like it. Almost.
16:47Oh, never mind. Time for a training tip.
16:50Tip. Use short, clear instructions. Imagine yourself hearing them.
16:56Understand?
16:56Yep.
16:56In other words, our guideers must think exactly what information the others need.
17:01Because good communication is all about putting yourself in somebody else's shoes.
17:07Oh, Brainy, start again. And it looks like this time Dan Raj is going to begin.
17:11Should we start from the beginning, then?
17:13Yeah.
17:13Yeah.
17:13But wait, Arjun's obviously decided that he's been silent too long.
17:18Yeah. And then you get the two rectangle ones, yeah?
17:21Yeah, two.
17:21Yeah, four.
17:22Right-hand side, like on the right.
17:24It doesn't matter. Yeah.
17:25Yeah.
17:25Yeah, just twist it.
17:26Whoa!
17:29We got it, we got it.
17:31No, I said it should be in the middle. The bottom one should be at the middle, the bottom cube.
17:36Oh, oh.
17:36Should be in the middle.
17:37Got it.
17:38Now it's right.
17:38Yes!
17:41The instructions were right, it's just, they weren't perfect. They could be better.
17:47I got really frustrated with Rhys because he showed the wrong block, even though I said a slice of four
17:54cylinders on it.
17:55I don't really think you should be frustrated with me because I don't really get it. And I think you
18:00could improve your instructions.
18:02I think you got a point that I do rush, but I think I'll prove in my communication skills.
18:07So, will Dan Raj's lack of practice cost him in the next task?
18:12And will forceful Arjun ever let anyone get a word in?
18:16It's time to find out as our six now put their communication training to the test.
18:27This is test of communication skill. So, six brainy must first divide into teams of two by drawing chopsticks.
18:37As quickly as possible, teams must whack open six lanterns containing numbers that go together to form some.
18:44Pairs first need to decide who is Guida, who is Whacker.
18:49Whackers will be blindfolded and will be relying on Guida to locate lanterns.
18:54When all six are open, brainies stop clock by shouting,
18:58RENJITSU!
18:59Quicker they whack lanterns, more time they have to pick up numbers and work out some.
19:05When brainies are happy with answer, hit GONG!
19:09First two teams to provide correct answer get green belts and advance to next level.
19:14One brainy from losing team will be eliminated.
19:18The key to success here is for the Guida to use the right side of their brain to follow their
19:24teammates' progress and give them clear instructions.
19:28For their partner, it's vital they use the left side of their brain to focus on these instructions and nothing
19:35else.
19:38First to put their communication training to the test are Dan Raj and Reece.
19:43Take a step to the left.
19:44With Guida Dan Raj working the right side of his brain and Reece to the left, the boys get off
19:49to a good start.
19:50Take a step to the right.
19:52Whack.
19:52But then Reece's radar goes awry.
19:55Take a step to the right.
19:57Right.
20:00Slightly back.
20:02Whack.
20:03And now the boys are losing valuable time.
20:06Whack.
20:08Whack.
20:10Brain Jitsu.
20:11The pair finish in 1 minute 45 seconds, but they'll have to wait to find out how much extra time,
20:16if any, it's bought them to make their sum.
20:19OK, walk forward.
20:21Left, right, right, right, sorry.
20:24Now, whack.
20:26Good.
20:27Next is the pink team of Jack and Arjun.
20:29In training, Arjun took complete control of the guiding team, but now it's Jack who will be giving the instructions.
20:35Whack. Yeah.
20:37Don't smack it. Whack it.
20:39And he's doing a pretty good job of it.
20:40With forceful Arjun silent for once, the boys make good progress.
20:44Left.
20:46Whack.
20:47Brain Jitsu.
20:48Stopping the clock in a whack-tastic 1 minute 23 seconds.
20:57Forward.
20:58Forward.
20:58Last up are the two remaining girls, Hayley and Ella.
21:01Whack.
21:02OK, backwards a little bit.
21:06Right.
21:08Whack.
21:09With Ella doing the guiding, it looks like she's remembered her training, giving Hayley clear and precise instructions.
21:15Whack.
21:18Left.
21:21Whack.
21:22Whack.
21:25Whack.
21:44Whack.
21:45Six.
21:47Six.
21:48Six.
21:49Plus.
21:50Six.
21:51Jack and Arjun are first to bang the gong, just ahead of Rhys and Dan Raj, but the girls' brains
21:57are struggling with the numbers.
21:59At last they bang the gong.
22:02Eleven plus twenty minus six equals twenty-five.
22:05That looks spot on.
22:06But to be safe, the girls will be hoping that one of the other teams have got their sum wrong.
22:12Twenty plus eleven minus six equals twenty-five.
22:15That's a thumbs up from the Sheehan.
22:18And no problems either for Jack and Arjun.
22:22So, even though they've found the right answer, as the last to finish, it's Hayley and Ella who'll be battling
22:28it out to avoid elimination in the...
22:32Stare off.
22:37With just one green belt up for grabs, both brainies must use all their powers of focus to fight the
22:43urge to blink.
22:44The first to falter will be eliminated.
22:50Ooh, and it's Hayley who's first to go from think to blink.
22:54So, while Ella stays in, Hayley's out and must hand over her orange brain belt and leave the dojo.
23:06Walk of eternal regret.
23:09I thought the brain training was useful.
23:12I could visualise what I was doing in my head.
23:16It was just the sun that got me down.
23:21So, with four levels left, it's green brain belts for Ella, Danraj, Arjun, Reece and Jack.
23:28The fact that I've come first has built my confidence much greater.
23:31The method that I used to keep my eyes open was to blink really fast before I did the...
23:37Zare off.
23:39Zare off.
23:40Zare off.
23:44Zare off.
23:47...
23:48This fourth level requires our brainies to master a primitive part of the brain called the amygdala,
23:54the area that responds to threat.
24:01Remember the last time you felt afraid or panicky?
24:04Maybe it was on a dark night.
24:06Well, that feeling was triggered by the old amygdala.
24:10Stress can make you lose focus.
24:13Fact.
24:14Which is why my brainies must train to keep their emotions under control.
24:20Room of Mental Nourishment.
24:25We're back in the Room of Mental Nourishment,
24:27and it's time for our five remaining green belt holders to overcome fear and stay totally focused.
24:36Brain training.
24:38Form a circle.
24:39Pass the disgusting drink around the circle.
24:41Only passing it on when you have said a different word relating to the last word someone says.
24:47After one minute, the brainie holding the drink has to drink it.
24:52Hey, but drink what exactly?
24:54Well, how about a nice glass of cod liver oil?
24:57I'm going to throw chunks out after that.
24:59Disgusting or not, Arjun, it's time to play.
25:02Water.
25:05Liquid.
25:07Drink.
25:09Orange juice.
25:10While most of our brainies are doing a good job of keeping their amygdalas under control,
25:15with Arjun, it's a different story.
25:17Just the thought of that cod liver oil appears to be slowing him down.
25:21Ginger ale.
25:24Ginger.
25:27Chewy.
25:29Bubblegum.
25:31Bubble.
25:39There's the gong, and it's Rhys, who's found himself holding the cup of yuck.
25:44Just hold your nose and drink it.
25:47Just don't think about it.
25:48Just hold your nose and drink it.
25:49Hey, easy for you to say, Danraj.
25:52I'll just sit a bit.
25:53Sit there.
25:54Ooh, it's tense.
25:57Ooh.
26:00You're going to let me faint.
26:01Time for a training tip.
26:04Tip.
26:05Welcome the drink as your friend.
26:07It holds the answer.
26:09That's a good tip.
26:10If you do this training at home, then imagining the drink as something nice,
26:14like a fruit smoothie, will help you stay calm.
26:17Being afraid of it will only close your focus and stop you from coming up with a word.
26:24Arjun kicks things off a second time.
26:28Toilet.
26:29Toilet bowl.
26:30Toilet?
26:30The idea is to think of the drink as something nice.
26:33Something gross.
26:34Uh, flush.
26:37Diary inside.
26:39Green.
26:40Chicken.
26:41Finally, our brainies change the subject, and immediately things start to speed up.
26:46Fried chicken.
26:47Buffalo wings.
26:48Yum.
26:50Hot.
26:52Scrumptious.
26:53Stop.
26:54That's the second gong, and this time it's Danraj who has to gulp down the gloop.
27:00Block your nose, Danraj.
27:03Block your nose.
27:05Drink it down.
27:07Danraj.
27:09Urgh.
27:10Aghasty.
27:12That was disgusting, but the tip did help me into drinking it.
27:16I found it harder to concentrate because of the element of fear,
27:21because the drink was passing around, and I was like,
27:23don't come to me, don't come to me.
27:26Will Reese managed to keep his concentration in the next task.
27:29And will Arjun remember his training and think nice thoughts?
27:33It's time to find out, as our five are challenged to overcome their fears once again.
27:40Creepy Crawly Word Grab.
27:43This level real test of mind over matter for braineese,
27:47and will push them to really overcome their fear.
27:50Underneath the creepy crawlies lie an assortment of letters worth different points.
27:54Braineese have just one minute to plunge hands into tank,
27:58and pick out up to seven letters each.
28:00They then have a further minute to make higher scoring words they can.
28:07To do well, my braineese must block out the signals coming from their amygdala,
28:12and ignore the creepy crawlies.
28:14The quicker they combat their fear,
28:16the more time they'll have to pick out the high-scoring letters.
28:28Underneath this pile of mealworms are an extra five golden letters.
28:32If our braineese manage to use one in their word,
28:35they'll double their score.
28:41Our braineese dive in.
28:42But what's this?
28:43Instead of looking for letters,
28:45front-runner Jack is waving his hands about in the air,
28:47completely forgetting his training.
28:52That can't be said of Ella, though.
28:54Her face, that of someone whose amygdala,
28:56is well and truly under control.
28:59But forceful Arjun's only picked out three letters so far.
29:03Remember, Arjun, think nice thoughts.
29:05I'm worried.
29:07I'm stupid.
29:08For the minutes up,
29:09our braineese now have a further minute
29:11to make the highest scoring word they can from their letters.
29:14With just three letters to choose from,
29:16front-runner Jack is finding his options somewhat limited.
29:20But not Ella.
29:22If she just moves that S to the end,
29:24she'll have a great word.
29:27See if you can make a word from the anagram
29:29at the bottom of the screen now.
29:40There's the last gong.
29:41How have our green belt holders fared?
29:46Sheet.
29:47Unbelievable.
29:48Ella never did find that word,
29:50and no word means no points.
29:54Gone.
29:54Well, that's five points for Dan, Raj.
30:00Joel.
30:02No points for Arjun, either.
30:06Hole.
30:07Top hole, more like,
30:09cos that's six points for Rhys.
30:12Two.
30:13While Jack earns two for two.
30:17So, with both Arjun and Ella tied on zero,
30:20we've got ourselves a tie-break.
30:22Our two braineese will get one chance
30:24to prove the power of their mind
30:26and save themselves.
30:27It all hangs on the...
30:29Tie-break chopstick challenge!
30:34Oh, it's tough but fair.
30:36Our braineese must use their occipital lobes,
30:38the seeing part of the brain,
30:39and work out how many chopsticks they see.
30:42They've got just five seconds
30:43to write down their answers.
30:45If they lose focus and panic,
30:47it'll all be over.
30:48Time to reveal our braineese answers.
30:5358 for Arjun.
30:56And 30 for Ella.
30:59The actual number is 64.
31:02So Arjun's answer of 58
31:04is the closest of the two,
31:05meaning that it's Ella
31:07who must now leave the dojo.
31:16Walk of eternal regret.
31:20I went for sheep
31:21because I thought it was a longer word
31:23than the other she could have picked.
31:25But then after I'd done it,
31:27I thought it was a bit risky
31:28and I shouldn't have chose
31:29to make that move.
31:31I'm quite sad to be out of braine jitsu
31:34because I was hoping to get it
31:35to at least red belt.
31:39So with only three levels left,
31:40those who use their minds
31:41to master the mealworms
31:43are rewarded with their blue belts.
31:47When I was in the tie-break of Ella,
31:49I was like,
31:51oh, so terrified
31:52because she beat Hayley.
31:53But when she hadn't showed me 64,
31:55I just felt like screaming so loud.
31:58The training really helped me,
32:00especially the tip
32:01because it made me forget
32:02about all the maggots
32:04and just focused on getting the words out.
32:07I knew that they couldn't harm me,
32:09so I was just really calmed down
32:10and I was just trying to focus
32:12on getting the right word
32:13and trying to win.
32:14And luckily, I did it.
32:18Brain jitsu.
32:22Brainy, not so brainy.
32:25Who's the clever clogs
32:26and whose brain needs
32:27a lot more training?
32:29Doctors.
32:30I love them if you feel ill.
32:31All you have to do
32:32is go and see them
32:32and then hope you get better.
32:34No wonder.
32:34They spend around seven years
32:36at medical school
32:37and then up to four years training.
32:39Enough respect.
32:40Stethoscope-tastic.
32:41Right, it's doctors again,
32:43but this time
32:43of the 17th century.
32:45This load of quacks
32:46believe that our personalities
32:47came from one
32:48of four types of fluids
32:49flowing through our bodies.
32:51What a load of nutters.
32:53Ooh, don't mind if I do.
32:54Brainy, modern doctors.
32:56Not so brainy.
32:5717th century quacks.
33:01Rainjitsu.
33:05Tension in Brainy Jitsu Dojo mounting.
33:08Now, just four young hopeful remain
33:10to compete under
33:11watchful eye of Shihan.
33:14Reliable Reese.
33:15Well placed in each level.
33:17I really want to win the black belt
33:18because it will give me
33:19like more dignity
33:20and give me more self-confidence.
33:23Frontrunner Jack.
33:25Worthful Arjun.
33:26Talker of group.
33:27I just feel like
33:28screaming so loud.
33:30And Dan Rash.
33:32Never out of top three.
33:35Agusti.
33:36Only two brainy
33:37will make final test.
33:38Table of supreme focus.
33:40Where?
33:41Must move ball
33:42with power of mind.
33:44Brainjitsu black brain belt
33:45is within their grasp.
33:47It's time for...
33:50Level five.
33:51Red blood.
33:54Now, if you've just taken up
33:56competitive bog snorkelling,
33:58then you might be interested to know
34:00that your new hobby
34:01is doing wonders
34:02for the old grey matter.
34:04Exercising both the thinking part
34:06of the brain,
34:06the cerebrum,
34:07and the doing part,
34:09the cerebellum.
34:10You see, doing new things
34:12increases the flow of blood
34:14into your head,
34:15which keeps your brain cells
34:17topped up
34:17with the oxygen they need
34:18to perform at their best.
34:20So, in level five,
34:22my brainy's
34:23are going to be challenged
34:24to learn new skills.
34:26Now, you can speed up
34:27how quickly
34:28the brain takes in new stuff.
34:30And this is what our brainy's
34:32are going to train for now.
34:34Room of Mental Nourishment.
34:38It's our brainy's fourth visit
34:40to the Room of Mental Nourishment,
34:42where they'll be training their brains
34:43in how to learn new skills.
34:49Flip and catch as many drink coasters
34:51as you can.
34:52OK.
34:53Reese starts the ball rolling.
34:55I'll show you how to do this.
34:58Yeah, sure.
34:58Not bad at all.
35:01Oh, yeah.
35:03Oh, my days, though.
35:05It's been attacked.
35:06The cookies have been attacked.
35:07I will get a little.
35:09Dan Raj has also made
35:10a decent start.
35:12Cookie!
35:13But not everyone's
35:14having quite as much success.
35:16Yes, same three!
35:18Ow!
35:18That hurt!
35:20Same three!
35:20Brunt runner Jack
35:21is finding this particular skill
35:23harder to crack
35:23than a Japanese crossword.
35:26Oi, time for a training tip.
35:29Tip.
35:30Approach this positively.
35:33Laugh out loud
35:34for 30 seconds.
35:36Ah!
35:36It might seem weird,
35:38but the next time you face
35:39a mental challenge,
35:40you try lapping as well.
35:42Not only can it help
35:43with confidence,
35:44but it also increases
35:45our heart rate,
35:46which sends extra oxygen
35:47into the brain,
35:48helping it to perform
35:49at its best.
35:51Jack, though,
35:52has decided
35:53there's more than one way
35:54to increase his heart rate.
35:57We've got it, man!
35:58We've got it, man!
35:59All of them!
36:01Oh, dear.
36:02There's positive
36:03and there's positively daft.
36:05Oh, the worst one I've ever got.
36:07That's right,
36:08son, you have a light, eh?
36:10Yeah!
36:11Do you know the tip?
36:12Well, it helped me
36:14by, like, making me more cheerful,
36:15so my brain was, like,
36:16more in gear.
36:18And so that's why
36:19I was so hysterical
36:20and demented, basically.
36:23I think fooling around
36:24ain't gonna help you
36:25pass the next task.
36:26No way.
36:28Now they're gonna lose anyway.
36:29So, will reliable Reese
36:31be able to recall his training
36:33when the heat is on?
36:34And will frontrunner Jack
36:35regret fooling around?
36:37Only time will tell
36:39as our four
36:39now put their latest
36:40brain training
36:41to the test.
36:44Chop, chop,
36:45don't drop!
36:48To win Red Brain Belt,
36:50brainies must remain
36:51mentally confident
36:52as they learn
36:52new physical skill.
36:54Remaining four
36:55must keep ball
36:56in airflow
36:56and guide it
36:58along obstacle course,
36:59through hoops
37:00and into basket.
37:01It is race against clock,
37:03but brainies
37:04must remain confident.
37:05There is five-second penalty
37:07every time ball drops.
37:09Brainy with slowest time
37:10will be eliminated.
37:12The tip for my brainies
37:14in this next task
37:15is to
37:16remain calm
37:18and think positive thoughts.
37:20Giving in to frustration
37:21will only lessen
37:22their focus
37:23and slow them up.
37:28So, can our brainies
37:29stay positive
37:30or will they let
37:31the pressure get to them?
37:34First to go with the floor
37:35is Dan Raj
37:36who straight away
37:37looks as smooth
37:38as a sumo's backside.
37:43Slickly through the slalom,
37:45it's clear that Dan Raj
37:46has got both
37:46the thinking part
37:47and the doing part
37:48of his brain
37:49working well.
37:51A slam dunk at the end
37:52and that's a great effort.
37:57Next up
37:58is forceful Arjun
37:59but immediately
38:00he runs into trouble.
38:04And unable to force
38:05the ball
38:06to do what he wants
38:07Arjun is forgetting
38:08to stay positive.
38:15His confidence in tatters
38:17Arjun's round
38:18goes from bad
38:19to worse.
38:31It's now the turn
38:32of reliable Reece.
38:36While moving along
38:37at a good pace
38:38it's not the cleanest
38:39of rounds.
38:43But then
38:43Reece's confidence
38:44picks up.
38:48that's good
38:49through the slalom
38:51and a basket
38:52and one
38:52stops the clock.
38:56Finally
38:56it's Jack's turn.
38:58Is he about to pay
38:58the price
38:59for fooling about
39:00in training?
39:02It's not the best
39:03of starts
39:06and what's more
39:07he never really
39:08gets going.
39:14A bit of bother
39:15with the basket
39:16and Jack
39:21eventually
39:22stops the clock.
39:30So which brainy
39:31flowed too slow?
39:33With no time
39:35penalties
39:35Dan Raj
39:36got round
39:36in an impressive
39:3757 seconds.
39:41With 17 penalties
39:43forceful Arjun
39:44crawled round
39:45in 3 minutes
39:4544.
39:49With 5 time
39:51penalties
39:51to add on
39:52reliable Reece
39:53completed the course
39:54in 1 minute
39:542 seconds.
39:57And racking up
39:5911 penalties
40:00Jack finished
40:00in 2 minutes
40:01dead.
40:04Which means
40:05that it's
40:05forceful Arjun
40:06who's eliminated
40:07and must now
40:08leave the dojo.
40:17walk of
40:18eternal
40:19regret.
40:20I feel so
40:21disappointed
40:22to be out
40:22of brain jitsu
40:23because I think
40:23I was going
40:24to get the
40:24brown belt
40:25but I didn't.
40:26The brain training
40:27helped me
40:27but it wasn't
40:28enough to
40:28make me win.
40:33So with just
40:34two levels left
40:35that leaves
40:36Dan Raj
40:36Reece
40:37and Jack
40:38to stand
40:38proud in red.
40:40I'm feeling
40:41very confident
40:42because in
40:43all the tasks
40:44I've done
40:44I've done
40:45quite well
40:46and I think
40:48I'll be able
40:48to get the
40:49black belt.
40:49I'm really
40:50pleased that
40:51I actually
40:51got through
40:51I never even
40:52thought that
40:52I'd get this
40:53far.
40:54I'm here now
40:55so there's
40:56a big relief
40:57because this
40:59is something
40:59that's a big
41:00step for me
41:01and I think
41:02that I've done
41:03really well.
41:06Rain jitsu
41:08Level 6
41:09ROLL BULT
41:11It's this level
41:12which will decide
41:13which two
41:14of my remaining
41:15brainies
41:16will go on
41:17to battle it
41:18out
41:18for the
41:19black belt.
41:21Now imagine
41:22you're in your
41:23school play
41:24as well as
41:25lines to remember
41:25and moving around
41:26on stage
41:27there's also
41:28the audience
41:29watching you
41:29it's remembering
41:31stuff under
41:31pressure like
41:32this
41:32that Level 6
41:33is all about.
41:36It centres
41:37around three
41:38areas of the
41:38brain
41:39brain
41:40seeing part
41:40the
41:41occipital
41:41lobes
41:42the
41:42memory
41:43part
41:43the
41:44temporal
41:44lobes
41:45and
41:45the
41:46movement
41:46part
41:47the
41:47cerebellum
41:48to the
41:49max.
41:50Room of
41:52mental
41:52nourishment
41:55our three
41:56surviving
41:56brainies
41:57are back
41:57in the
41:58room
41:58of
41:58mental
41:58nourishment
41:59this time
42:00for a bit
42:00of memory
42:00training.
42:03Brain
42:04training
42:05memorise the
42:06sequence of
42:06the colours
42:08Oh that's
42:08hard.
42:09Indeed it
42:09is Dan
42:10Raj.
42:11No wait
42:11why don't
42:12we do a
42:12table each.
42:14Okay I
42:14do this one.
42:15That on the
42:15other hand is
42:16not so hard
42:17and finding
42:18ways to make
42:18training easier
42:19isn't really
42:20the name of
42:20the game.
42:21If you read
42:22them all out
42:22large we'll
42:23get mixed up
42:23and start
42:24thinking of
42:24your combination.
42:25Sorry.
42:25You might but
42:26then you'll
42:26have only got
42:27four colours
42:28to remember
42:28Jack.
42:29Who thinks
42:29they can
42:30remember all
42:30of them?
42:31Me.
42:32That's more
42:33like it.
42:33Some proper
42:34training.
42:36So purple
42:36green
42:37orange
42:37red
42:38blue
42:38grey
42:39green
42:40purple
42:40red
42:42Now you're
42:42looking to do
42:43that.
42:44Yeah right.
42:45Time for a
42:45training tip.
42:46That way no
42:47one will need
42:47to peek.
42:51Tip.
42:52Create a
42:53song linking
42:53the colours
42:54together.
42:55Part of that
42:55we just do
42:56like purple
42:57purple
42:57red
42:57red
42:58green
42:58green
42:59green
42:59grey
43:00blue
43:01orange
43:01Oh dear.
43:02Looks like
43:03I would
43:03brand
43:03easy
43:03finding
43:03another
43:04short
43:04cut.
43:05ones
43:05No just

43:09How is that
43:09song
43:09you need
43:10to put
43:10some
43:10majesticness
43:11wherever that
43:11means in it.
43:12Purple
43:13purple
43:14blue
43:15No like
43:16think of a word
43:16like P
43:17like P for
43:19poo.
43:20Memory
43:20training
43:21training isn't
43:21just great
43:22for the
43:22brain
43:22it's also
43:23incredibly
43:23useful.
43:24Try turning
43:25your school
43:25timetable
43:26into a song
43:27and see
43:27if you can
43:28remember
43:28every class.
43:29We've mixed
43:30them up
43:30how is it
43:31supposed to
43:31make sense
43:32now?
43:32Not that
43:33our brainees
43:34are showing
43:34any signs
43:35of singing
43:35whatsoever.
43:36I'm not
43:36going to do
43:37a song
43:37because it's
43:38humiliating
43:38can't I
43:39just do
43:39it in my
43:39own way?
43:50I'm just
43:50purple
43:51orange
43:51orange
43:52red
43:52red
43:53No.
43:54What happened
43:54there?
43:55So why
43:55don't you
43:55have a go?
43:56Silver

44:03green
44:03no
44:04yeah
44:04yellow
44:05no sorry
44:07grey
44:07yellow
44:08no
44:09he swapped
44:10them
44:10Oi
44:11I remember
44:13yellowing it
44:14then.
44:14You know
44:14I've seen
44:15more focus
44:16looking through
44:16a pair of
44:17old milk
44:17bottles.
44:18They do
44:18pretty well.
44:19Don't you
44:20think that
44:20Reese was
44:21the worst
44:22at this
44:22memory game?
44:23I only
44:24actually had
44:24two goes.
44:25I went
44:26once across
44:27and then I
44:27had my go
44:27and then I
44:28went once
44:28across
44:28and then I
44:28had my go.
44:29Hang on hang on
44:29I had one
44:30and I still
44:30got it.
44:31That means
44:31I'm the
44:32best.
44:32Yeah but
44:33you
44:33No but
44:34I'm the
44:35best.
44:35End the
44:35story.
44:36Will Dan
44:37Raj prove
44:37to be the
44:37pick of
44:38the bunch?
44:39And will
44:40Jack pay a
44:41heavy price
44:41for not
44:41singing?
44:43Only time
44:44will tell
44:44as our
44:45final three
44:45put their
44:46memory train
44:46into the
44:47test for
44:47one of
44:48two brown
44:48brain belts
44:49and a
44:49place on
44:50the table
44:50of supreme
44:51focus.
44:53Super
44:54memory
44:55dizzy
44:55dash.
44:57Each
44:57brainie
44:58is spun
44:58round on
44:59dizzy
44:59wheel a
45:00total of
45:01ten times.
45:01Their
45:02task to
45:03use all
45:03their
45:03power of
45:04focus to
45:05memorise
45:05five images
45:06in front of
45:07them.
45:08Then race
45:09against clock
45:10to cross
45:10balancing
45:11beam and
45:12collect
45:12same five
45:13images from
45:14ten hanging
45:15above them.
45:17then must
45:19arrange
45:19images in
45:20reverse
45:20order.
45:22When they
45:23are happy
45:23with their
45:24selection
45:24a hit
45:25of gong
45:25stops
45:26clock.
45:31My tip
45:31for the
45:32brainies is
45:33to keep
45:33focused on
45:34the main
45:34objective
45:35and use
45:36their training
45:36to link
45:37the five
45:37images
45:38together.
45:40So our
45:41final three
45:42brave the
45:42dizzy wheel
45:43to compete
45:43for their
45:44brown brain
45:44belt and
45:45a place
45:46on the
45:46table of
45:46supreme
45:47focus.
45:47Time to
45:48spin.
45:53Will their
45:54memory
45:54training help
45:55them to
45:55remember the
45:55images and
45:56ignore the
45:57effects of
45:57being spun
45:57round like
45:58worms on
45:59a waltzer?
46:01The order
46:02they need to
46:02remember is
46:03at the bottom
46:04of the
46:04screen.
46:07First to
46:08wobble off
46:08in search of
46:09those images
46:09is Dan
46:10Raj.
46:12And
46:13straight away
46:13he appears to
46:14be struggling
46:14with his
46:15memory,
46:15plucking out
46:16an apple
46:16instead of
46:17the tomato
46:18he needs.
46:19This really
46:20is the ultimate
46:21test of memory
46:22for our
46:22brainies as
46:23they fight
46:23their dizziness
46:24to pick out
46:24the five images
46:25they saw on
46:26the wheel
46:26arranging them
46:27in reverse
46:28order.
46:31For every
46:31mistake they'll
46:32pick up a
46:32five second
46:33penalty.
46:34The brainie
46:34with the
46:34slowest time
46:35will be
46:36eliminated.
46:38while Dan
46:39Raj now
46:40has his
46:40five pictures
46:41he's wasting
46:41valuable time
46:42going backwards
46:43and forwards
46:43for each
46:44one.
46:46And that's
46:47a patchy
46:48performance
46:48from Dan
46:49Raj.
46:52Next up
46:53is reliable
46:53Rhys who's
46:54repeating the
46:55pictures out
46:55loud to help
46:56him remember
46:56them.
46:57Come on,
46:57I'll take the
46:58camel chips.
47:10That's the
47:10five images.
47:11Now all
47:12Rhys has to
47:12do is put
47:13them in the
47:13right order.
47:17Oh,
47:18five out of
47:18five.
47:22Last to go
47:23is front
47:23runner Jack,
47:24the brainie
47:25who found
47:25his training
47:26so humiliating.
47:27In next
47:28to no
47:29time Jack
47:29plucks down
47:30those five
47:30images.
47:40But apart
47:41from that
47:41spider,
47:42none of the
47:42other pictures
47:42look to be
47:43in the
47:43right order.
47:44Is he about
47:45to pay the
47:45ultimate price
47:46for not
47:46trying harder
47:47in the
47:47training?
47:48Let's find
47:49out.
47:51With three
47:52penalties to
47:52add to his
47:53time of
47:53one minute
47:54twenty-two,
47:54Dan Raj
47:55finished in
47:56one minute
47:56thirty-seven
47:57seconds.
47:59With no
48:00penalties,
48:01reliable
48:01Rhys rang
48:02his gong
48:02in a rapid
48:03one minute
48:04nineteen
48:04seconds.
48:06And even
48:07though front
48:08runner Jack
48:08racked up
48:09four penalties,
48:10he still
48:10finished in
48:11one minute
48:11twenty-two.
48:13Meaning that
48:14Jack's still
48:15in and Dan
48:16Raj is out.
48:18For Dan
48:19Raj, it's
48:19time to
48:20hand over
48:20his brain
48:21belt and
48:23leave the
48:23doorjo.
48:28Walk of
48:29eternal
48:30regret.
48:32I am
48:32quite forgetful,
48:34just hate
48:35doing stuff
48:36like that.
48:37The brain
48:37training did
48:38help in a
48:39way, but
48:40I also
48:41tried my
48:41hardest, but
48:43obviously I
48:44couldn't get
48:45to the
48:46finals.
48:52So with
48:53only one
48:53level to
48:54go, that
48:54just leaves
48:55reliable
48:55Rhys and
48:56front runner
48:56Jack to
48:57don their
48:57brown brain
48:58belts and
48:59prepare for
49:00the final
49:00showdown.
49:01I am so
49:02happy.
49:02I've never
49:02been so
49:03happy in
49:03my whole
49:04entire
49:04life.
49:05I'm so
49:05happy.
49:06I'm in
49:07the finals
49:07and I'm
49:08going to
49:08win.
49:09I'm really
49:10really hoping,
49:11fingers crossed,
49:12that I will
49:13win.
49:13I really
49:14really want
49:14that black
49:15belt on
49:15my head.
49:18Brain
49:19Jitsu.
49:21Eight young
49:22hopeful arrived
49:23at Brain
49:23Training
49:24Dojo to
49:25fight for
49:25Brain
49:25Jitsu
49:26Black
49:26Brain
49:26Belt.
49:27As
49:28challenges
49:28got tougher,
49:29trainees
49:29got fewer.
49:30some lack
49:31focus.
49:33Other
49:33speed.
49:35Now just
49:36two remain.
49:37Reliable
49:38Rhys,
49:39winner of
49:39two levels
49:40so far.
49:41This is
49:41something
49:41that's a
49:42big step
49:43for me and
49:44I think
49:44that I've
49:45done really
49:45well.
49:46And
49:46front runner
49:47Jack,
49:48confident
49:48throughout.
49:49I'm in
49:49the finals
49:50and I'm
49:51going to
49:51win.
49:52But who
49:52will use
49:53Brain
49:53Training
49:53to
49:54max to
49:54win
49:55final
49:55challenge?
49:57Level
49:58Seven.
49:59Black
49:59Belt.
50:01So,
50:02this
50:02is it.
50:03Between
50:04my two
50:04remaining
50:05brainees
50:05and the
50:06black belt
50:07stands
50:07Brain
50:08Jitsu's
50:08ultimate
50:09challenge.
50:10A mental
50:10duel that
50:11is head
50:12to head
50:13in every
50:13sense.
50:14The
50:15battlefield?
50:15A table.
50:17But not
50:17just any
50:18table.
50:18For this,
50:19my friends,
50:20is the
50:20table of
50:21supreme
50:21focus.
50:22Where our
50:23two brainees
50:24will attempt
50:24to move a
50:25ball across
50:26the table
50:26using only
50:28the power
50:29of their
50:29mind.
50:30By
50:31getting this
50:31far,
50:31they've already
50:32demonstrated
50:33mental control
50:34under many
50:35different types
50:35of pressure.
50:36But now,
50:37they must learn
50:38to focus their
50:39minds by
50:39entering a
50:40state of
50:41total calm.
50:42To prepare
50:43them,
50:44my two finalists
50:45will need to
50:45get into
50:46the zone.
50:48Room of
50:49Mental
50:49Nourishment.
50:53In this,
50:54the final
50:54visit to
50:55the room
50:55of Mental
50:55Nourishment,
50:56our two
50:56remaining
50:57brainees
50:57are about
50:58to train
50:59in how
50:59to stay
50:59focused,
51:00no matter
51:01what's
51:01happening
51:01around
51:02them.
51:05Brain
51:05training.
51:06Mentally
51:07prepare yourself
51:08for the
51:08final task.
51:09Don't let
51:10sounds put
51:11you off.
51:11So,
51:12our two
51:12finalists
51:13must block
51:13out the
51:14noise and
51:14concentrate
51:15only on
51:16keeping
51:16their
51:16focus.
51:20While
51:21Lisa's
51:21blocking
51:21out the
51:22noise by
51:22focusing
51:22on a
51:23single
51:23point,
51:24Jack has
51:24buried
51:25himself
51:25under
51:25a
51:26pillow.
51:30But even
51:31that doesn't
51:31seem to be
51:32working.
51:33Jack,
51:33stop laughing,
51:34you put me
51:34off.
51:35But isn't
51:36that one of
51:36the points?
51:37Time for a
51:38training tip.
51:40Tip,
51:41visualise and
51:42focus on
51:43somewhere you
51:44feel happy
51:44and calm.
51:48While
51:48Jack's
51:49focus is
51:49certainly
51:50better this
51:50time,
51:51it doesn't
51:51last long.
52:02Will Jack
52:03get into
52:04the zone
52:04in time
52:05for his
52:05toughest
52:05challenge
52:05yet?
52:06Or will
52:07it be
52:07reliable
52:08Reese who
52:08grabs the
52:09glory?
52:10Let's
52:10find out.
52:13Table
52:14of
52:15supreme
52:15focus.
52:18rules are
52:20simple.
52:20Each
52:20brainy must
52:21push ball
52:22to the
52:22opponent's
52:23end of
52:23table using
52:24only power
52:25of mind.
52:26Sensors in
52:27brainy's headbands
52:28measure brainwaves.
52:30This is converted
52:30into electrical
52:31signal which
52:32moves ball.
52:34More focused
52:35mind, stronger
52:36signal and
52:37faster ball
52:38will travel.
52:39See how
52:40brainy's are
52:41doing on this
52:42readout.
52:42two lines
52:43represent each
52:44player's
52:44brainwaves.
52:45Lower the
52:46line, more
52:47concentrated
52:48their mind.
52:55To make
52:55sure this is
52:56the test of
52:57all tests,
52:57our brainy's
52:58must win the
52:58best of
52:59three rounds.
53:03So, this
53:04is the big
53:04one.
53:05Our two
53:05finalists must
53:06use all their
53:07brain training to
53:08enter their
53:08zone of
53:09absolute focus.
53:11This is the
53:13reason they
53:13came to the
53:13dojo.
53:15This is the
53:16moment they've
53:16been training
53:17for.
53:24It's Jack
53:25who's first to
53:25get the ball
53:26moving.
53:26His lower
53:27black line on
53:28the readout a
53:28clear sign of
53:29his better
53:30focus.
53:39barely able to
53:40keep a smile
53:40off his face,
53:41Jack makes
53:42it 1-0.
53:45And reliable
53:46Reece will have
53:47to call on all
53:47his training if
53:48he's not to be
53:49eliminated.
54:00round two.
54:02And again, the
54:02low black line on
54:03the readout is
54:04showing that it's
54:05Jack who's really
54:06found his focus.
54:07But Reece is
54:09refusing to back
54:09down and stops
54:10the ball in its
54:11tracks.
54:16And as Jack
54:17begins to
54:17fidget, Reece
54:18takes full
54:18advantage.
54:22level in the
54:23score at
54:24one apiece.
54:28It's all down
54:29to the final
54:30round.
54:31This is now a
54:32test of mental
54:32endurance as much
54:33as anything else.
54:34Who will cope
54:35best with the
54:35brain strain?
54:41Round three
54:42and both our
54:42brainies are
54:43fully focused.
54:47You can see
54:48from the two
54:48lines on the
54:49readout just
54:49how evenly
54:50matched they
54:50are.
54:54But little
54:55by little
54:55Jack starts to
54:56make headway
54:57inching that
54:58ball back
54:58towards Reece.
55:07It's all over
55:09and it's Jack
55:10who's emerged
55:10triumphant.
55:12His training
55:13really has paid
55:14off.
55:14Frontrunner
55:15and the
55:15frontrunner
55:15truly has proven
55:16himself to be a
55:17master of the
55:17mind and worthy
55:18winner of the
55:19brain jitsu black
55:20belt.
55:22Makes me feel so
55:23great to have won
55:25this.
55:26I thought I didn't
55:27think I was going to
55:28do it.
55:29I thought I was going to be
55:30knocked out early into
55:31the game.
55:32I just feel like
55:33jumping.
55:34But glory for one
55:35brings disappointment
55:36for another.
55:37And although he fought
55:38valiantly, Reece must
55:39now leave the
55:40door jaw.
55:43Walk of eternal
55:45regret.
55:46I think it went
55:48wrong because every
55:48time I saw the
55:50ball on my side, I
55:53was so stressed.
55:54And I was trying
55:55and trying and I was
55:56looking at the ball
55:56and suddenly it just
55:57went the other way.
55:58And I was like, no,
55:59not good.
55:59I'm feeling so
56:00depressed.
56:01I've never felt so
56:02depressed in my life.
56:03I'm going to go home
56:04and meditate for the
56:04rest of my life.
56:10I feel great that I
56:11won.
56:12I think all the tips
56:14that help me focus
56:16and everything else
56:17really helps in the
56:18game and I think it
56:19will help in real life.
56:20For Jack, his journey
56:21to mental mastery is
56:22now complete.
56:24Up against the
56:25toughest of competitors
56:26in reliable Reece,
56:27he refused to back
56:28down.
56:29And when the pressure
56:30was really on, it
56:31was Jack who was
56:32able to call on all
56:33his training and
56:35grab that black
56:36brain belt.
56:44Our journey has
56:45come to an end.
56:46Another brainy has
56:48proven themselves
56:48worthy to wear the
56:49brain jitsu black
56:51belt.
56:52But while brain jitsu
56:53might represent the
56:55most extreme form of
56:56brain training,
56:57its philosophy can be
56:59shared by all.
57:01Each and every one of
57:02you has it in your
57:03power to grow your
57:05mind.
57:06All it takes is
57:07dedication and
57:08practice.
57:09This has been
57:13Reign Jitsu.
57:14Reign Jitsu.
57:14Reign Jitsu.
57:15Reign Jitsu.
57:15Reign Jitsu.
57:16Reign Jitsu.
57:17Reign Jitsu.
57:18Reign Jitsu.
57:18Reign Jitsu.
57:19Reign Jitsu.
57:20Reign Jitsu.
57:21Reign Jitsu.
