00:08May God bless you with an unquenchable thirst for his holy word, the Bible.
00:15Haggai, Chapter 1
00:18In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month and the first day of the month,
00:23came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah,
00:30and to Joshua the son of Josedek, the high priest, saying,
00:34Thus speaketh the Lord of hosts, saying,
00:37This people say, The time is not come, the time that the Lord's house should be built.
00:43Then came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying,
00:47Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your sealed houses, and this house lie waste?
00:53Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider your ways.
00:58Ye have sown much, and bring in little.
01:02Ye eat, but ye have not enough.
01:04Ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink.
01:07Ye clothe you, but there is none warm.
01:09And he that earneth wages, earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes.
01:14Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Consider your ways.
01:18Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house.
01:23And I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord.
01:28Ye looked for much, and lo, it came to little.
01:31And when ye brought it home, I did blow upon it.
01:35Why, saith the Lord of hosts, because of mine house, that is waste.
01:40And ye run every man unto his own house.
01:43Therefore the heaven over you is stayed from dew, and the earth is stayed from her fruit.
01:48And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and
01:53upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon
01:58men, and upon cattle, and upon all the labor of the hands.
02:03Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Josedek the high priest, with all
02:09the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai
02:14the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him.
02:17And the people did fear before the Lord.
02:20Then spake Haggai the Lord's messenger in the Lord's message unto the people, saying,
02:24I am with you, saith the Lord.
02:28And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and
02:33the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedek the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant
02:38of the people.
02:39And they came and did work in the house of the Lord of hosts, their God, and the four and
02:44twentieth day of the sixth month, and the second year of Darius the king.
02:56Haggai chapter 2
02:58In the seventh month, and the one and twentieth day of the month, came the word of the Lord
03:03by the prophet Haggai, saying, Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of
03:09Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedek the high priest, and to the residue of the people,
03:15saying, Who is left among you that saw this house in her first glory, and how do ye see
03:22it now?
03:23Is it not in your eyes in comparison of it as nothing?
03:28Yet now be strong, O Zerubbabel, saith the Lord, and be strong, O Joshua, son of Josedek
03:37the high priest, and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work.
03:43For I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts, according to the word that I covenanted with
03:49you when ye came out of Egypt.
03:51So my spirit remaineth among you, fear ye not.
03:56For thus saith the Lord of hosts, Yet once it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens,
04:04and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land, and I will shake all nations, and the desire
04:11of all nations shall come, and I will fill this house with glory, saith the Lord of hosts.
04:18The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts.
04:24The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the Lord of hosts.
04:32And in this place will I give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.
04:39In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, came the word
04:45of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Ask now the priests
04:51concerning the law, saying, If one bear holy flesh in the skirt of his garment, and with
04:58his skirt do touch bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat, shall it be holy.
05:06And the priests answered and said, No.
05:09Then said Haggai, If one that is unclean by a dead body touch any of these, shall it be
05:15unclean?
05:16And the priests answered and said, It shall be unclean.
05:20Then answered Haggai and said, So is this people, and so is this nation before me, saith
05:27the Lord, and so is every work of their hands, and that which they offer there is unclean.
05:36And now I pray you, consider from this day and upward, from before a stone was laid upon
05:42a stone in the temple of the Lord.
05:44Since those days were, when one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were but ten.
05:50When one came to the press fat, for to draw out fifty vessels out of the press, there were
05:56but twenty.
05:57I smote you with blasting, and with mildew, and with hail, and all the labors of your hands.
06:04Yet ye turned not to me, saith the Lord.
06:09Consider now, from this day and upward, from the four-and-twentieth day of the ninth month,
06:14even from the day that the foundation of the Lord's temple was laid.
06:34And again the word of the Lord came unto Haggai in the four-and-twentieth day of the month,
06:39saying, Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I will shake the heavens and the earth,
06:47and I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms
06:52of the heathen, and I will overthrow the chariots, and those that ride in them, and the horses
06:58and the riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.
07:03And that day, saith the Lord of hosts, will I take thee, O Zerubbabel, my servant, the
07:11son of Shealtiel, saith the Lord, and will make thee as a signet.
07:17For I have chosen thee, saith the Lord of hosts.
07:25The end of the book of Haggai, King James Version, read by Justin Bible.
07:33May God bless you with an unquenchable thirst for his holy word, the Bible.
