00:00But let's get tarps off here, Craig.
00:01Those St. Louis Cardinals sitting right now 29-22 on the season.
00:06Not a lot expected.
00:07Every week we talk about it, Craig.
00:09Hey, guys, we don't think we're going to be good.
00:11Ticket sales are slow.
00:12How about $20, all you can eat, just come out and enjoy yourself in the ballpark,
00:16which now has turned into we play good against teams above .500.
00:19We have a good win-loss record at this point.
00:21We have our fans back in the building and starting something
00:24that a lot of other Major League Baseball teams are buying into.
00:27Tarps off on the cards, Craig, playing competitive baseball.
00:30How about that?
00:32Yeah, big surprise for me.
00:34Look, I mean, big surprise, I'm going to guess, for the Cardinals, Donnie.
00:37You know, like I think the front office is like, oh, boy.
00:39Like, we didn't expect this.
00:41Now what are we going to do?
00:43I thought they would be trading a lot of their players at the deadline.
00:45And here they are playing really well, especially against good teams.
00:49And they have, like, the fun stuff going, as you said, with the tarps off.
00:52Seven games over .500.
00:54And the same team, Donnie, is last year.
00:57Like, it's the same team, except for they lost a lot of players.
01:00They traded Brendan Donovan, and they traded Sonny Gray.
01:03You know, like, this one is, look, I'm going to have to still plant my flag on them losing.
01:09I got to, because I don't get it.
01:10I don't understand how they've done it.
01:11I'm not trying to take away from them.
01:13I'm just saying I don't understand it.
01:15Now, Weatherholt, of course, has played.
01:17That's been a nice surprise.
01:18Guys, Jordan Walker, if this is legitimate, and there's been no indication that anything like this could have happened, that
01:25Jordan Walker is going to be, like, NL MVP.
01:29Yeah, 30 home runs, 35 home runs.
01:31It's been crazy.
01:32So, yeah, if those young players end up being stars this year, all-stars, Weatherholt, Walker, and they get the
01:38pitching that they're getting, I'm going to be completely dead wrong on St. Louis.
01:42But it's not that I'm rooting for that, but this is one of those, I'm going to stand my ground
01:46here, and I'm going to say at some point to go the other way.
01:49Alex, sustainable is what we talk about, too, because you look at the record, which is very good.
01:52Didn't think the Cardinals would be there.
01:53Most applications here, so I say publications, and also odds markets, said, you know what?
01:58Probably the worst team in the division is going to be the Cardinals.
02:00Playing much better baseball, but also understand this.
02:0329-22, Craig, 13-13 at home.
02:05Run differential, only a plus-one here, as you see the 29-22 record, but look down below.
02:12Expected win-loss total, 26-25.
02:14Sooner or later, the cream's going to rise to the top, and maybe some of that runs out, but this
02:18is an organization we didn't expect to be here right now.
02:21We'll see where it goes, but a lot of young talent in that lineup getting a lot of experience here,
02:25Craig, and we'll see what happens before the all-star break.
02:27But, hey, seven games above .500 in an ultra-competitive division.
02:31You'll take that if you're the cards right now, absolutely.
02:35Cardinals right now are probably, I would say, in terms of their expected win-loss and their actual win-loss,
02:42are about as often as any team in baseball.
02:45And so, like that, it makes me think that the tide will turn.
02:48But, look, if they're going to continue to beat up on teams in the division, and they have, and they
02:53get this hot thing going like they do every summer, then maybe they'll be in it.
