Listen to what Dylan Groenwegen, Jonathan Milan, Tobias Lund Andresen, Matteo Malucelli, Jensen Plowright and Paul Magnier have to say ahead of stage 15 of the Giro d'Italia 2026!

The Giro d’Italia is one of the most prestigious cycling tours in existence. After last year’s thrilling battle, in which Simon Yates defeated Richard Carapaz and Isaac del Toro, the peloton returns for another three weeks of top-level racing. Jonas Vingegaard, representing Team Visma–Lease a Bike, will be aiming to claim his first Giro title. The 24-year-old Giulio Pellizzari will try to stop him, as will Derek Gee-West, Felix Gall, Enric Mas, and Adam Yates, who would no doubt love to follow in his brother’s footsteps. With plenty of opportunities for both sprinters and attacking riders, everything is in place for three weeks of thrilling and unpredictable racing!

00:00On paper, do you prefer the sprint in Milan compared to Napoli?
00:06Yeah, different. Today we have the local laps on the end.
00:10Change always heads, more nervous then into the local lap.
00:15We survived the last days really good and now it's a new chance.
00:20How important is it for you to pass on the finish line before the sprint?
00:24Yeah, not really important but I like it like this. I also like it in Paris always, in Champs-Élysées
00:31when you pass it and you see it a few times.
00:33Also Milan now and it will be also in Roma. But I like it, I like the circuits.
00:38How did you feel the past few days?
00:41Yeah, good. We survived the match really well. I think it's normal that everybody is getting a little bit tired.
00:47But we are not sick, we are healthy and ready for today.
00:51Do you want to win today as much as the journalists wanted? Because your name would make the headline easy
00:58in Milan.
00:59Yeah, it would be really special, you know. After these art stages here, after this sprint, we are really looking
01:09for a nice day.
01:13We will try our best to take out the best about this day.
01:17Technically, on paper, is it the best stage for you of the whole Giro d'Italia?
01:23On the paper maybe, yeah, I would say yes. It's a really easy and nice circuit in the end of
01:29the stage.
01:31Yeah, we will see it four times. We will do it four times. So, it's not a technical circuit. So,
01:38it's pretty straight final, two kilometers from the last corner. So, it will be perfect.
01:43We are happy to finish this stage in Milan and tomorrow to have a nice race day.
01:53How do you rate your state of fatigue compared to the first day in Burgas where you were second?
01:58Yeah, it's probably a little bit more fatigued. I think I'm in a good mood. I'm happy. Hopefully, the sickness
02:07is over. So, I can have a good race today.
02:10Do you like the type of racing today? Do you like the weather conditions today?
02:15I think nobody really likes when it's this warm, but I think I'm good at cooling myself down. So, maybe
02:21I live in Spain also normally. So, I hope I have a bit of an advantage on some of the
02:26bigger guys.
02:27What kind of sprint do you expect? It's probably going to be a bit messy because it's an easy day
02:32on the circuit. It's always a bit more messy, but I think it will be a clean sprint. I think
02:38they made a nice lap for us to do a good sprint.
02:43Third weekend. It's long for you. How do you feel?
02:47Yeah, a little tired, but I think it's the same to everybody. So, today probably we will do a sprint
02:55and we will see which rider have a lot of energy intellect.
03:00Is it your favorite stage for where it is located and for the technicality of the race?
03:06Yes, for sure the finish line is good for me. It's 2K straight, no corner and I can do my
03:14best today.
03:17Is your tactic to get out of the wheel of Jonathan Milan?
03:20Yes, we lost Bellarini last week. So, I will try to follow one big rider. Probably Milan is the best
03:32for me.
03:34The Napoli stage has put your name among the top sprinters. Can you explain how you ended up there?
03:40Yeah, maybe a bit of luck on the Napoli stage, but you've got to be in it to win it.
03:46So, yeah. Legs haven't been too bad, so we'll see today.
03:51It's also because your sprinter can grow, had to pull out very early. How did you move into the position
03:57of sprinter number one?
03:58Yeah, we haven't had a lot of opportunities since actually. So, yeah, I think today is probably first or second
04:06test.
04:07But yeah, it's unfortunate to lose Caden and we're really coming here to do a good job for him. So,
04:15yeah, I've got to do my best to cover him.
04:18How are you organized in terms of lead out and stuff? Yeah, we also lost Plankard. So, the lead out
04:25is a bit broken now. But we'll have Francesco and Jonas to help out.
04:33No more Mario Ciclamino. So, today one sprint, two sprints or zero sprints?
04:39Yeah, we hope one in the final kilometers. I mean, yeah, I lost the Ciclamino yesterday, but I really would
04:47like to take it back. And yeah, the best way to take it back would be a victory in Milan.
04:52But there is also the intermediate sprint. What do you want to make of it?
04:56Yeah, I think we want to try to not make the bench really nervous. I think if we catch the
05:00breakaway before the final circuit, it can maybe be really hard to control until the final.
05:06So, I think we will really focus on this last sprint. And maybe if there is some points to grab
05:10on the intermediate sprint, I will go for it. But I will not make a full story about it.
05:14Was it a hard break to lose the Maliachi Ciclamino yesterday? Yeah, I mean, yeah, it was for sure really
05:21hard to this morning put again the team's foot. But I mean, I really hope today to take it back.
06:00We'll see you next time.
06:26We'll see you next time.
