06:26Oh yeah, it's incredible, like finish it off with the stage win in the TT.
06:32It repays a lot of the work from the team and everyone around it.
06:37It's the cherry on top of the cake. I didn't want to take any risks today, but it was a
06:42good parkour for me.
06:43I went full on the climbs, felt quite good. And also TT is a super important discipline for the future
06:49and yeah, I'm super proud of myself and everyone involved.
06:54You're also the super team. I already talked with Davide about the importance of, you know, having teammates like yours.
07:01Yeah, yeah. It was really incredible what they did this week for me and for Davide's sprint. It was a
07:09really commitment, 100%. I have to really thank them.
07:13Yeah, again, this week started a few months ago at training camp in the mountains and yeah, it's really paid
07:21off this week as you can see and I have to thank them a lot.
07:24After the huge experience, a first place in the GC with more than two minutes from the other, what could
07:30be the next goal for Lorenzo Marcfim?
07:32Oh, now I think I will enjoy a bit a few days at home, but yeah, I have Nationals now,
07:40one race at Sibiu, but then my big goal is Tour de l'Avenir and the World Championships.
07:45Mateo, are you happy with this Giro?
07:48Yes, I'm very happy with being able to get a second place here. In reality, it's a dream. I've been
07:55working a lot to achieve it. I started the year a bit complicated, but I'm very happy with being able
08:02to get a second place.
08:03What is the most important thing that you have won in that Giro?
08:08Yes, now it's the biggest achievement I've had in the cycling. It has been to be the second in the
08:14Giro and obviously to continue working to achieve better results.
08:19And what was the most important stage that you liked?
08:23The most important stage was the final in the Giro. I think it was the sixth stage. It was a
08:29very, very hard stage. I liked the climb, so I enjoyed it, despite everything.

08:39I have no words to describe it. I'm on the podium, so I'm really happy with this. I came here
08:46with good expectations, but I never imagined that I could be so consistent these eight days and to be on
08:52the podium with these guys.

08:57What's the best thing you bring home with you after this experience?

09:02What are the best things you bring home with you after, you know, the whole Giro of this experience?
09:07Yeah, yeah, like me, I came from a country that is not famous cycling, so to be here is like
09:14a lot of hard work that you have to put in. I stayed the whole winter in Europe. Since December
09:20I'm in Europe, away from my family, so yeah, I have no words to describe it and I'm just happy.
09:27I've seen you always smiling during these days and now you cry.
09:30Yeah, I cry, but I'm happy.

09:35Davide, we have seen you during this Giro smiling with Lorenzo, now a little bit of tears, but of course,
09:42you know, the emotion you are feeling. How are you?
09:44Yeah, I mean, we came here for this and we got it, so we're super happy. Personally, I was like
09:52the, yeah, I mean, I'm one of the oldest guys here in the team and I try to also keep
09:59my up during the race. I mean, we don't have the radius, so also the communication between the riders and
10:08the DS goes through me.
10:10And so I try to make it as much as possible. Then all the other guys made, I think, a
10:19bigger job than what I did, but still I'm really happy for everyone and really deserve it.
10:25Yeah, talking about the team, you are the super team. We have seen a lot of attacks from the main
10:30characters of your team, always supporting you and Lorenzo. Does this also make the difference, I can say, during the
10:37days?
10:37Yeah, definitely. The Giro Next always has many days where the breakaway go and most of the time there are
10:48guys who are not really crammers who can like make it in the GC because they go in the breakaway
10:54then they cannot close.
10:55But this year with six riders were also more suitable for us and we try to take the control every
11:02time we could. And yeah, we did a super job.
11:06Looking at you, of course, the Maglia Rosa is yours. What's the best thing you bring home with you instead
11:11of course the Maglia Rosa?
11:14I think once again the team performance we did. We already shown in Gio di Sardegna that the rookies are
11:24not too far from the World 2 team, let's say, because we are really like connected together and we really
11:34enjoy work together.

11:53bit disappointed almost because I, yeah, sort of came 5k away from taking that stage.
11:59But yeah, I think as the week went on it became more and more of a target and obviously it's
12:04super cool to have it now in L'Aquila.

12:18Oh, good ice cream. The memories of good ice cream, I think.

12:25Oh, I just had from that place over there, great caramel flavour, really good, highly recommend.
12:31Really nice. So, last question, so of course about the stage, you have seen the hardest stage, the hardest climb.
12:39What has been the hardest but also the one you enjoyed the most?
12:43Yeah, I think Bakkely was pretty cool, like it was, it was absolutely mad, you know, looking at it on
12:50paper, you know, it was hard all day.
12:53But yeah, I think it was just, you know, everyone was on their knees taking chunks out of each other.
12:57I think it was, yeah, super cool stage and I really enjoyed it.
13:01Well, yeah, type two fun we call it, but yeah, that was one I think probably my favourite stage.
13:07And you were also super full on Bakkely.
13:09Yeah, yeah.
13:11Javier, congratulations, the end of the Giro, the best young rider. What are the emotions?
13:16Yeah, I'm really happy to finish the Giro this way. It has been really difficult for me because I had
13:23two crashes on the first stages, but with the help of my teammates, I was able to keep fighting and
13:30at the end, yeah, it's incredible to finish this way.

13:44Yeah, it was, it's my first race like this because I have never raced so many days, so I have
13:55learned to keep fighting, to suffer a lot and yeah, to manage a bit the energy in so many stages.
