00:00So I saw that announcement yesterday.
00:02I guess Vic Fangio said in the Eagles-based defense this year,
00:05they're going to move Cooper DeGene to where Blankenship was
00:08for the last, what, five or six years
00:10and make him their starting safety.
00:12And I'm obviously teasing.
00:14There happens to not be a lot of white guys that play cornerback
00:16nor safety in the NFL.
00:19He's kind of a throwback to the Jason Seahorns of the world.
00:22But it's interesting because I think Cooper DeGene,
00:26I know you're going to agree with this,
00:28top five, top ten cornerback in the NFL.
00:32And it's interesting to me that you would take a guy
00:35who's a top ten cornerback and make him your starting safety.
00:40That's a whole different ballgame there.
00:43Yes and no.
00:44He's top ten, but he's a slot corner most times.
00:47He rarely plays outside.
00:49He's a guy that plays in the middle of the field
00:51because he's so physical.
00:53So in Vic Fangio's defense, the safety position that he's playing
00:57and the nickel spot aren't that different.
01:00If it was Quinion Mitchell who plays outside, very big difference.
01:04They rarely use him outside.
01:05And do you think they replaced him with a white guy at cornerback?
01:08No.
01:10No.
01:10The cornerback position just got a lot blacker.
01:13It got blacker.
01:14It got whiter.
01:15Because did you guys put out shirts last year about the,
01:18what did they call him in Blankenship?
01:20It was like, they gave themselves, like the Eagles supported it.
01:24They gave themselves a name like, it wasn't like the Great White Hope though.
01:28It was like, what the heck was it?
01:30It was like a whole marketing team.
01:32No, it was Exciting Whites.
01:33It was Exciting Whites.
01:35Exciting Whites.
01:37I love that.
01:37Literally, that name started because they're out at a liquor store looking for wine.
01:42And that's what the sign in the liquor store said was Exciting Whites.
01:46When they went there to get some wine.
01:47Oh, that's what, I didn't know that.
01:49That came from a liquor store.
01:51One of those big, you know, big warehouse type liquor stores.
01:54And up on the side it said, Exciting Whites, talking about white wines.
01:57Right.
01:58And they just went with it.
01:59By the way, awesome.
02:01I thought it was one of the more clever marketing things that any player or team has ever done.
02:06And that was for Reed Blankenship and Cooper Dejean.
02:09But now Cooper Dejean's the only last white guy standing.
02:12And now he's the safety.
02:13So I guess you can't say Exciting White, right?
02:17It's got to be plural.
02:18So I think the Eagles need to sign another white dude so you keep the marketing campaign going.
02:23Because I know Philadelphia.
02:25And you ain't lying, Tyrone.
02:27Philly sees color.
02:28And there's a good segment of South Philly that was like, hey, forget about it.
02:34We got the Exciting Whites.
