00:00President Trump uses his statements about optimism both to influence the oil and stock markets,
00:09and he's done so seven times or more in the course of the conflict, while at the same time,
00:17I believe the statements he made are also designed to influence Iran, that he has trust in the use
00:27of force to resolve diplomatic problems. Something perhaps, certainly with the exclusion of World
00:35War II, and we know its casualty rate, its length, and the degree of its tragedy, did not result in
00:42unconditional surrender, but negotiated outcomes. I believe force is an instrument that can be used
00:51in difficulty over negotiated outcomes, but I find it hard to believe that it can produce
00:59of and on its own the kind of unconditional surrender which President Trump's belief
01:06would be, put it this way, a significant asset in dictating the outcome to Iran. The Iranians have
01:16strength in resisting. They've shown it. They have proved once again that use of force has no
01:23instant capacity to bring a solution.
