00:00Here we are in week four of this conflict,
00:04inflation's being driven up all over the world,
00:06including in the United States at the petrol pumps.
00:09This was never an America first war
00:12and that, you know, got MAGA supporters, you know, up in arms.
00:18Do you think, given where we are now,
00:21perhaps President Trump is having a few regrets about having started this?
00:25I don't think so, Tom.
00:26I think the president had, you know, some pretty well described
00:30or he was very clear about the initial goals of the war,
00:35which were, you know, reducing the Navy down to nothing,
00:38to reduce the ballistic missile program to almost nothing,
00:41to stop the funding of terror proxies in the region.
00:45And, you know, perhaps regime change was in there somewhere,
00:49but not as a primary goal.
00:51So, yes, he might be disappointed that the regime is hanging on.
00:56We all are.
00:57But on the other hand, you know, the primary goals were reached.
01:01I mean, a clear military victory in terms of, again, you know,
01:04taking out the ballistic missiles, taking out the nuclear capabilities
01:07and sinking the ships of the Navy.
01:10So, you know, as the president said, you know,
01:13the U.S. is now flying over Iran and over Tehran, you know,
01:17without any defensive measures coming from the regime.
01:21So, you know, in many respects, this is great news.
01:25Now, you mentioned, you know, the inflation and energy prices.
01:29Yeah, that is definitely a headache.
01:31And we'd hope to see a solution there quickly,
01:35whether that's cooperation from the regime or some sort of settlement
01:39or the U.S. military steps in and rids the Strait of Hormuz of the threat from Iran.
01:46That's something that might take a little time.
01:49But it's in the meantime, it is hardship.
01:52I mean, you know, gas prices, as you mentioned, are up significantly.
01:55Right.
01:56And, you know, that hurts the consumer.
01:58Now, I'd always I don't want to diminish that.
02:01But the gas prices are still lower than they were during the Biden administration
02:05because of his hostility to the energy sector and because of the inflation that he caused.
02:11So I'm not again, I'm not suggesting that the consumers aren't hurting.
02:15But, you know, I think the short term pain is worth the long term gain here.
