00:00On this week's edition of First Things First, our own Millie Ball caught up with the hulking Jeff Mullins.
00:12Queen Maxima just exuding her class. She is now nine for 16 lifetime.
00:18And I have to say, with the shipping that she's done recently, I think she won on class. Would you
00:24agree?
00:24Oh, for sure. For sure. That's the guy interviewed me coming down the stairs and he says, what do you
00:31got to say about her?
00:32And I says, good horses do good things.
00:34She has been remarkable for you. Just so consistent at different distances.
00:38You've said all along that after this race, you give her now a little bit of a break.
00:43So what will be your plan with her next race?
00:46Well, we'll probably let her down for a week or two and then send her to the farm and then
00:51probably have her back in towards the latter end of Del Mar.
00:54to get ready to come back here.
00:57Congratulations to you.
01:04Thanks very much for that, Millie.
01:06And it has been reported by the TDN that Queen Maxima, along with Intrepido, will head to the farm, to
01:11Kingfisher Farm for a little respite and rejoin the barn, probably mid-Del Mar.
01:17So good to hear that.
01:18I do want to remind you that racing does continue at Santa Anita Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and special holiday Monday
01:25racing.
01:26On Saturday, we get to celebrate the Calbreds with the Snow Chief, the Mel Air, the Thor's Echo, the Crystal
01:32Water, and the Franz Valentine.
01:34If you haven't got enough of the Calbreds, come on Monday, where we'll have the Grade 1 Gamely, the Hollywood
01:40Gold Cup, looks to be a field of about seven.
01:42And then the Grade 1 Shoemaker Mile will be a field of 11, featuring the likes of Formidable Man and
01:49King of Gosford.
01:50It's all happening at the Great Race Place.
01:52Come and join us.
01:53We'll see you next time.
