00:02But I love Australia, keeping the money in Australia is going to support a lot of Aussies
00:06and when these guys came to chat to me about being the ambassador for Australia Made, it
00:11was this stat that I loved, it said, if we swap our shop, if we just spend $20 more a
00:16week on Australian made products, it's $11 billion to the economy and 20,000 more jobs,
00:21so that's got to be a good thing.
00:22Well there's 4,500 businesses licensed to carry the Australian Made logo on tens of
00:26thousands of products and they represent about 40,000 jobs and $8 billion in revenue,
00:31so you can see a big part of Australia's economy.
00:35The encouraging thing though is consumers are telling us that they're really interested
00:39in buying Aussie and supporting their fellow Australians, so that's really compelling.
00:43Is the logo that confusing?
00:45I think it's the most iconic logo of all time!
00:48I'm glad Andy said that.
00:50That's alright.
00:51It's the most straightforward logo I've ever said in my life.
00:53It's got a couple of different versions though, right?
00:55Is it like Australian made?
00:57No, so the one you'll see is Australian made and the green and gold kangaroo is the
01:01thing that people actually resonate with, so it's your shorthand, it's an aid for businesses
01:06to demonstrate their Australian credentials and it's a shopping aid for consumers, as Andy's
01:10put it.
01:10You look at it, you buy with confidence, you know our organisation, our not-for-profit organisation
01:15has done the hard work, so you can know that that's a genuine Aussie product.
01:20Well, I bloody love Australia.
01:22That's probably the main bit.
01:25Yeah, I mean, I've travelled everywhere around the world, Hamish, my travel shows, etc.
01:29and just think we're the best country in the world, always want to come back here and people
01:34underestimate how much it helps our country by doing this.
01:38So I think, to your point, sometimes they're slightly more expensive, it might be a dollar
01:43here or there on the shopping items in the supermarket, but if you can, if you've got a chance and
01:48there's
01:48a comparable product in the supermarket that you can find that Australian made logo, it makes
01:53a world of difference in helping out your fellow Aussies.
01:57But Australia's so well known for all the attributes that, you know, we're clean, green, high quality,
02:02high safety and all those elements often translate through to the products that we make here.
02:07So I think we're ultra competitive when you compare it to particularly some of the products
02:11that are coming, you know, from outside Australia.
