00:00The Mets decide, no, we're going to stay, you know, kind of in line with what we're doing.
00:05They're still last place, 10 and a half back in the division, but three straight wins now
00:09having a solid month of May at 11 and five.
00:13You see some of the numbers on your screen, an in-season total of 80 and a half at, let's
00:20call it minus, you know, 110, depending on where you shop it around.
00:24Should we believe that this team could get to the postseason or could finish around 500?
00:31I do think that they could finish above 500.
00:33Now the playoffs, we'll see, but something from watching the Mets lately that I've been
00:39really pleased with is this youth movement, right?
00:42With the Mets, at least early on, it just felt like a stale team, like just nothing was really
00:47clicking.
00:48The bats weren't very good.
00:50The energy was really, really bad.
00:52And then they called up AJ Ewing.
00:54Who's off to a great start for them.
00:56And then Carson Benj is starting to really, really play well.
00:59And you also got more Beto as well being with his ability to hit left-handed pitching.
01:03So you're starting to see the young guys play a role here.
01:06And I think it's providing a spark to the rest of the offense, right?
01:09Juan Soto doesn't need a spark, but it's nice to see him playing better.
01:12Bo Bichette, it's understandable that in a completely new environment with, after you just
01:17signed a huge contract, there would be a lot of pressure and he didn't play well early,
01:20but lately he has been better.
01:22The bullpen has been better as well with Devin Williams in the back end and Luke Weaver
01:26as well.
01:27And they still have a pretty good starting rotation, especially in the front three with
01:31Freddie Peralta, Nolan McLean and Clay Holmes.
01:33They have the recipe for a good team.
01:36That's why in the preseason, they were considered one of the best teams in the National League.
01:40But it is important to remember that the Mets went 83-79 last year and still in the totality
01:46of the season are not off to the greatest start.
01:48So for everyone trying to promote them into truly one of the best, they still have to prove
01:53it.
01:54But lately, they absolutely are.
01:56So if we're looking at the win total, I don't mind over 80 and a half.
01:59However, for the playoffs, they still got to do a little bit more for me to start buying
02:03in there.
