00:00How about those New York Mets?
00:01It felt like for a while, Craig, 12 losses in a row.
00:03Their manager's going to go.
00:04They can't get out of their own way.
00:06Juan Soto on the DL talking about, hey, you know what?
00:08I haven't spoke to these guys because they're mostly on the road.
00:11Who knows what's going on in that clubhouse?
00:12But it's amazing what a two and two last four-game stretch will do.
00:17The weight of the world off their shoulders?
00:19I don't know.
00:20They're still in last place.
00:21But at least, Craig, they picked up a couple wins here lately.
00:24Yeah, statistically speaking, the Mets have the best record, easiest record.
00:27I'm sorry, the easiest schedule in baseball, if I can get that out, in the month of May.
00:32So you would assume that everybody is kind of safe for the time being because they're
00:36just going to have a softer schedule coming up with the Twins beating them two out of three.
00:40Although they lost to the Rockies, they have a doubleheader with the Rockies on Sunday.
00:44Very similar to me, except for I think the players love Carlos Mendoza.
00:50It would be very hard for me to see them making a move during the season.
00:55But then, of course, if they finished 500 or below at the end of the season,
00:58the Mets could be right back to square one again.
01:01Yeah, a lot of times you see, Craig, too, where it's like, hey,
01:03give the manager an endorsement at this point.
01:05They sort of blow off the question.
01:06Yeah, I like the guy.
01:06We'll see what happens.
01:07They've been very vocal on how much they like him.
01:10And basically telling you, and it's right, too.
01:11It's not the manager's fault that they can't hit.
01:14Now, there's some things that pop up like, okay, you're not running the base as well.
01:17It seems like the team is unfocused at this point.
01:19That's where the manager can go.
01:20But they're very vocal about that.
01:21But you know how you give, instead of saying, oh, it'll be a mistake if he gets fired,
01:25just win some Major League Baseball games to keep him there.
01:27The team is extremely talented.
01:28And we came into the show this year, Craig, talking about how much talent they have
01:31and maybe a lot of missing, or should I say missing pieces,
01:34a lot of musical chairs on who's going to play where,
01:36how they're going to fit in and start to play.
01:38And as you said, an easy schedule coming up might be the best tonic.
01:41But let me ask you a question, too, Craig.
01:43Kodai Senga, close to a 9 ERA.
01:45Come on now.
01:46What's up with that?
01:47Look, I mean, and Sean Minaya, who they just gave a contract to last season,
01:53basically can't even get outs with this team.
01:54So, yeah, I mean, look, definitely some roster configuration going on there.
01:59Let's also be clear, very hard to dig out of what the Mets are trying to dig out of
02:03without Francisco Lindor.
02:05I don't know what's going on, as you said, relationship-wise with him
02:07and Soto and everybody else.
02:09But not having Lindor in that lineup for the next month or so,
02:12that's a crushing blow.
