00:00In the NL West, it is the Padres, not the defending champion Dodgers after last night's outcome that is leading

00:08And this Padres team, say what you want about some of the names in that lineup in terms of the
00:13offense and what they're capable of.
00:15It's the bullpen, and I know you are a huge fan of what we've seen out of these relief farms.
00:21Incredible numbers.
00:23Miller, Adam, Matsui, Rodriguez, Peralta, Estrada, you see some of the details on the screen.
00:27These are not necessarily, at least across the board, household names.
00:31How is San Diego doing this?
00:34Well, magic.
00:36And it's hard to explain.
00:37But we'll start with that bullpen that you see on the screen there.
00:41This is the best bullpen since maybe the 2024 Cleveland Guardians when Emmanuel Class A had that 0-6-1
00:47ERA and Cade Smith and Hunter Gaddis.
00:51Incredible bullpen, right?
00:51Maybe you'd have to go all the way back to 2015 and look at the Kansas City Royals when they
00:56had Wade Davis, Greg Holland, and Kelvin Herrera.
00:58Remember that night shift, right, with the Braves?
01:00Also, they had a great bullpen as well.
01:02But this is as good as it gets because Mason Miller is just un-freaking-believable.
01:08And then you look at the rest of the arms.
01:09They were able to bridge the gap in order to get to him.
01:13Now, when you look at the Padres team in its totality, it's really just thrived under pressure.
01:18In April alone, they had five wins when trailing by four runs.
01:22And over the last eight days, they have two wins coming back in the eighth and ninth against the Cardinals
01:27and then coming back in the ninth against the Brewers.
01:29They are doing just enough to win games.
01:31We'll see if it lasts.
01:32But right now, they thrive under pressure.
01:35And once they get a lead, the bullpen shuts the door.
