00:00The Dodgers have decided to do something that a lot of teams have done for decades.
00:05They have decided to go to the White House and celebrating one of the greatest achievements in all of sports,
00:12a championship.
00:13Folks, this is what this is all about here.
00:15When did this become a thing?
00:18It became a thing when Donald Trump became the president of the United States.
00:22Listen, I've said this before, and Dave Roberts, the manager of the Dodgers, has said it as well.
00:28He's not a politician.
00:30He's a manager of a Major League Baseball team.
00:32And by the way, you have a right not to go.
00:34He's made it very clear to people on that baseball team if they don't want to go.
00:39And Kiki Hernandez has already said that he's not going to participate in the festivities at the White House.
00:45And Dave Roberts, the manager of the Dodgers, is correct.
00:48As I've said to you before, this is not about the guy who's in the White House.
00:53This is more about your team being revered and being honored.
00:57Dodgers returning to the White House to carry on championship tradition.
01:01Then you have idiots like the L.A. Times' Bill Plaski.
01:06So Bill Plaski is talking about how he and everyone is doing this when it comes to disrespecting your fan
01:14base.
01:15And I tweeted this out here at Bill Plaski.
01:18You mean the same fans that the Dodgers and Walter O'Malley drove out of Chavez Ravine to Bill Dodger Stadium?
01:25You mean those fans?
01:27Those Mexican and Mexican-Americans that were in Chavez Ravine?
01:31I think Bill doesn't like to give you a true history lesson here on who the Dodgers actually were when
01:37they moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles.
01:40Remember, they displaced many Mexicans, many Mexican-Americans from Chavez Ravine so they could give Walter O'Malley Dodger Stadium.
01:50That same stadium that people today roll into that Bill Plaski says the Dodgers are disrespecting by going to the
01:57White House?
01:58Hey, Bill, just a lesson here. Why don't you give the full story of Dodger baseball and tell people how
02:05Dodger Stadium was built?
02:07And if it wasn't for a dude by the name of Fernando Valenzuela, nobody on the planet would be going
02:13to Dodger games that was Mexican or Mexican-American.
02:16He galvanized everyone and brought him back into the building.
02:20That's your fan base.
02:21Those are the people that you serve when you go to Dodger Stadium.
02:25Again, let's not forget the greatness of Jackie Robinson and what the Dodgers were all about in the 1940s when
02:31he crossed the color line in 1947.
02:35Talking about history, you can't leave out half the history.
02:39You've got to tell the entire history.
02:42And going to the White House, whether it's Joe Biden, whether it's Barack Obama, whether it's Bill Clinton, it doesn't
02:49really matter.
02:50It's about your team being revered and being honored.
02:54It is a tremendous honor to have your team there at the White House being honored by the nation.
03:00Remember something.
03:01This isn't Trump's house.
03:03This is America's house.
03:05And people who get honored when they roll into that building are revered forever.
03:10And by the way, the Dodgers are on the cusp of doing something no National League team has done in
03:15over 100 years.
03:16And that is three-peat.
03:18Last team to do this when it came to going back-to-back with the Cincinnati Reds' big red machine
03:24in the 1970s.
03:26They're going to go and try and do something that we haven't seen since the 1920s.
03:30And that is three-peat.
03:32And the Dodgers are on the cusp of doing this now.
03:35And let's see them being revered.
03:37And I'm glad that Dave Roberts made it very clear.
03:40And I love Dave Roberts.
03:41I've known him for a long time when he was a bench coach for Bud Black when he was in
03:45San Diego on that bench with Bud there with the Padres.
03:49And I'm glad to see the Dodgers are there going to the White House.
03:53And, again, if you don't want to go, I understand that as well.
03:57That's the cool thing about this visit.
03:59You're being revered and you get to make your own statement.
04:02If you don't want to go and you want to turn this into politics, have at it.
04:06But as Dave Roberts said, folks, the idea is to be invited every year because that means, guess what, you're
04:14celebrating a championship.
