00:00Let's flip it over, Joe, to the association tonight.
00:02The Detroit Pistons on the road to take on the Cleveland Cavaliers.
00:06Overnight, this line sat at minus one and a half.
00:08Today, Joe, we're seeing minus twos and minus two and a halves in the marketplace
00:11in a total of 226 and a half.
00:14These two teams are probably going to clash in the playoffs.
00:16But tonight, the 7 o'clock start in Cleveland.
00:18What is that spread line for you?
00:20Well, I mean, this could be what many people think will be an Eastern Conference final matchup, right?
00:26Here, Donnie, we could see this in the future with Detroit and the Cavs.
00:32But Detroit does get some reinforcements back tonight.
00:35Isaiah Stewart back from suspension for this game here tonight.
00:40There's some injury bugs concerning me with the Cavs in this spot here.
00:44Wouldn't be shocked if Detroit wins this one on the road and maybe pushes them around a little bit.
00:51Ten games on the card tonight in the association, Joe.
00:53One of the fun games tonight is the San Antonio Spurs are going to take on the Philadelphia 76ers.
00:57No Embiid, but a throwback broadcast tonight.
01:01You want to tell me you love the 1990s?
01:03Watch that game tonight.
01:04You'll get a 1990s feel.
01:07Coach, I understand you're heading to Atlanta.
01:09They have some sort of promotion going on.
01:11Is any truth to that?
01:16I'm looking very forward to the Orlando and Atlanta Hawks game here.
01:21How about you, Coach?
01:21I mean, I just don't know what they're thinking.
01:27I mean, it's just, I mean, listen, if people want to go, you know, I just, oh, Atlanta just, you
01:35know, guys, let's be honest.
01:37I don't consider Atlanta to be a very strong sports town.
01:42The Braves can't sell out in the playoffs.
01:44The Falcons, it doesn't matter how much money Arthur Blank pumps into it.
01:47It doesn't matter if a Knicks go play in Atlanta.
01:50There's 95% Knicks fan and Hawks fans.
01:53So, I guess any kind of promotion to kind of drum up interest may help you out a little bit.
01:58It's kind of interesting, too.
02:00I guess they can't sell out because everybody apparently goes to Magic City instead of the sporting events here at
02:04this point.
02:05Now, it's a very interesting promotion because, you know, the TI is going to be in town, I heard.
02:09Also, you know, the lemon pepper wings will be there.
02:11But also, when you go out to the club, is it a good idea, Coach?
02:14You're like, you know what, man, let me get the garlic wings in here in this class.
02:17That's not, I mean, food and food and let's just say dancing.
02:21Do they go together?
02:22That's a lot of wet naps, a lot of wet naps, a lot of wet naps that you make sure
02:26you have, you know, and some towels to dry off.
02:30Sounds like Coach been there, done that before, a little way, a little funny.
02:35Coach, back to the NBA itself on this one.
02:38Here's something that we could have saw coming a mile away.
02:40Hey, Chris Stapps Porzingis, when he plays, looks really good.
02:43The only question is he never plays.
02:45Now, Steve Kerr is like, we got a mysterious illness here.
02:47It's Porzingis.
02:48We hope to get him back, I guess.
02:51I mean, here we go again.
02:54You know what's the amazing thing is, as we go through, we talk about, like, big men,
02:58and everybody talks about how much time Anthony Davis misses.
03:02No one talks about KP.
03:03Like, KP misses a ton of time.
03:06He had this mystery illness in the playoffs last year.
03:09No one knew what it was, if he was in or he was out.
03:12Now he gets traded, and then he gets traded again, and now he has it again.
03:16You know, it's just a continually bad sign for our Golden State team
03:19that, you know, loses at home to the Clippers last night, and you wonder, guys,
03:24when you come down to it, are they even going to, honestly, make the playoffs?
03:30You know, when you look at that regular season standings, Golden State's in the eighth slot.
03:34There's only one game out of the ninth.
03:35I think the Clippers are going to pass them.
03:37And then with that team, without, obviously, Jimmy Butler, who is obviously out for the year,
03:43without Kaminga, who looks fantastic in Atlanta, we don't know what we're going to get out of Steph.
03:48We don't know what we're going to get out of Porzingis.
03:50I keep saying it.
03:52You keep looking at Golden State and saying, where is the end of the dynasty in the run?
03:57Guys, I think it's here.
04:02I don't understand Golden State, though, Coach, if I can for a second.
04:06Kaminga looks like he can very much play.
04:09Like, what was the issue?
04:11Like, they couldn't figure it out in Golden State.
04:14The guy is absolutely dominating here in the games that he's had with Atlanta.
04:18Well, Kaminga's an up-and-tempo guy, and I think what happened is he got into it with Steve Carr.
04:23I mean, we saw it last year.
04:25We saw it last year.
04:25At the end of the year, the guy wasn't even in the rotation.
04:28Then the injuries happened in that first-round series.
04:30Then they start playing him.
04:32Then he starts scoring.
04:33Then he comes back.
04:34Then he's starting.
04:35Then he's on the bench.
04:36Then he's out of the rotation.
04:37Then he's playing with him.
04:38I mean, no one could figure it out.
04:40The best thing for Kaminga, he got out of there.
04:43And I'm going to say this right now, folks.
04:44Atlanta may not be this year, but this is a team to watch in the future.
04:49With Dyson Daniels, with Richer Shea, with Jalen Johnson, with Okongru, with Kaminga, and that first-round unprotected pick that
05:00they got from New Orleans.
05:02What happens if they get, ready folks, a Darren Peterson, a Kingston Flemings?
05:08Or what happens if they decide to go and they get the number one pick, which is a possibility, and
05:13you go pick D'Amanza, and then you move Richer Shea for something else?
05:17I'm telling you right now, they're going to be a team to watch.
05:20The only thing is, I'm just not the biggest believer in Quinn Snyder.
05:24Coach, real quick here on the Celtics.
05:27They win last night 108-81.
05:28No Brown.
05:29Giannis comes back.
05:30The Doc experiment's probably going to be over.
05:31But Tatum's supposed to come back later this week, Coach.
05:34Optimism on the Celtics for you.
05:37As long as they have enough time to play him and Brown together.
05:39But I say this.
05:40Brown has been playing so well.
05:42He's got to be the face right now.
05:44Let Tatum work his way back.
05:45If not, guys, this could blow up in their face because they've been playing well.
05:50Coach, James Young joining us.
05:51Talking a little basketball action at a great time of year.
05:53It's March, man.
05:54This is time to hit that buzzer, Peter.
05:56Coach, let us fly.
05:58I'm going back to the NBA.
05:59And sometimes, boy, these games I look at are going to be tough for the pill to swallow.
06:0478% of the tickets coming in on OKC, Joe, in this game.
06:08But that line opened up overnight.
06:09Minus 11.
06:10It's down to 10.5 now in a total of 227.5.
06:14Which means, Joe, 22% of the tickets coming in on the Bulls who basically aren't even trying to win.
06:20I took Milwaukee last night and got my head caved in with great CLV.
06:24We'll see where this line ends up at the end of the day.
06:25But come on, Chicago.
06:27Hang around within double digits.
06:29Lose by 10.
06:30Let's get the chicken tonight.
06:31As I like to say, Joe, nobody wants to take the Chicago Bulls tonight.
06:36Your boy DRS is taking those Chicago Bulls tonight.
06:39Not a shock there, Donnie.
06:42You're always looking on the board to go where everyone is running left.
06:46Donnie is going to run right.
06:48To the right side, baby.
06:50Which means to the prediction markets next.
06:52Stay tuned.
06:53We've got a lot of good topics coming your way.
06:55Prediction markets edge right back at it here on the early line.
06:59It is a Tuesday, Hot Topics flying around.
07:01Just hit some of the bigger games in college basketball and the association.
07:04But sometimes, Joe, we like to get after you and have some fun with the topics on deck.
07:09Like, will Jason Tatum play in a game this season on Polymarket?
07:13Love to see this, Joe, because why?
07:15He's trading at a 98.9%.
07:17You say, well, wait a second.
07:19We're watching the show, Donnie.
07:20You already told us that Jason Tatum is due to come back on Friday.
07:23Well, Joe, if you invest $100 on will Tatum play a game this season, you'll return 90 cents on your
07:30investment.
07:31But it feels like, Joe, it's a free 90 cents.
07:34Or does he get injured in some of the lead-up to that game on Friday?
07:38That's what the anticipation is.
07:41That is exactly what the anticipation is.
07:44And we often say that, Donnie, right?
07:46Like, that could very well be a situation where it's free and you only got to wait, what, 72 hours
07:54in order to get it?
07:55So I would go ahead and, yeah, that's what I would look at, Donnie.
07:58Again, I wouldn't invest all of the equity you might have in that bankroll.
08:02But it's certainly maybe the free money aspect of it with the prediction markets.
08:08Now, some people are devious, right?
08:10They say, all right, coming back on that injury and he's going to get a couple more practices in.
08:14If you feel, Joe, he's not going to play the rest of the season, which means something happened to that
08:19Achilles within the time frame of playing on Friday night.
08:22A $100 investment would come back at $440.
08:27And by the way, if you were looking over the past, Joe, on February the 13th, which is only a
08:32couple weeks ago,
08:32he was trading at 42.6% and now trading close to 100% on Polymarket.
08:40Yeah, what a difference a week makes, right, Donnie?
08:43Like, my goodness, unbelievable here.
08:45But again, I still think, you know, there's, I don't think there's any reason to fade that market, right?
08:52I don't think there's any reason to go against the grain there.
08:55I think it is what it is, Donnie, and either take it or move on in that market.
08:59That's all.
09:01So, MVP winner for the NBA, and no, it's probably not going to be Jason Tatum because you've got to
09:06play a minimum of 65 games.
09:07That's always been the caveat.
09:08But you know who's starting the trade and game steam now?
09:11He's back and he's playing.
09:13It's Shea Gilgis-Alexander at a 73% trade point here on Kelsey, followed by Jokic at 15%, Cunningham, Webbanyama,
09:21and Jalen Brown here.
09:22So, it looks like as long as SGA plays the minimum 65 games, he is going to be the favorite.
09:28Now, injuries do happen in the NBA.
09:29But, Joe, while he was injured, I said, you know what?
09:32If he comes back and an MVP is in sight, he is going to play those games, not going to
09:37sit the back-to-backs because an MVP is not, hey, I want to make third team all NBA or
09:42second team all defensive.
09:43The MVP means something here.
09:45If he's up for the MVP, which he is, Joe, he's going to play off the string.
09:49But is it smart to invest your money in SGA or take a chance that he might not meet that
09:53threshold and take somebody else like Cade Cunningham?
09:56Well, defending MVP right here, Donnie, and ultimately the goal, I think, for him and that team is not him
10:04to win another MVP.
10:06It's for him to be healthy enough to run the gauntlet here again, which is the NBA postseason.
10:12And now between him, I think the Joker, there's, you know, what, two, maybe three games at most, more that
10:20they can actually miss before they are not qualified to be considered for the MVP.
10:25So I still think Cade Cunningham is the guy to back here, likely going to have the team with the
10:32best record in the East.
10:34And let's face it, anything is possible.
10:36If you've already been hurt, which the Joker and SGA have already been, you know, they're going to treat him
10:42with kid gloves.
10:43They're not going to push him in order to be able to, oh, let's hurry up and get him enough
10:47games in order to win the MVP.
10:50Cade Cunningham is not even close to not having enough games.
10:53So I think Cade Cunningham is the best and most viable investment right now in that market.
11:01On December 28th, Joe, the trading was Jokic at 48.6%, SGA at 43.9%, and since then it's been
11:08a lot of SGA.
11:10But you also saw SGA being bet down to 58.8% when we weren't sure when he was coming
11:14back.
11:14But now that he's back, of course, trading at 73% now.
11:18He is the favorite to win the MVP in the predictive markets right now.
11:21Now, rookie of the year winner in the NBA.
11:24How about this one?
11:25All year long, Joe, we were thought to believe this is going to be an easy one.
11:28It's Cooper Flagg.
11:29Of course it is.
11:30He's trading at 41%, which isn't bad.
11:32You know who the favorite is right now, Joe?
11:3555%.
11:35It's Khan Knipple.
11:37So if you invest that you believe Khan's going to win this thing, $100 investment pays back $182, as he
11:43is now the favorite.
11:45Yeah, well, it's Khan Knipples to lose, right?
11:47And I don't know how he loses it, quite honestly, Donnie, if we're being serious here.
11:52Charlotte has been red hot.
11:54They have been for the better part of, what, a month and a half, almost two months now?
11:58And he's a big reason why.
12:00And teams, listen, it's not like they have.
12:03He's the only guy on the team defensively that opponents have to worry about, right?
12:08It's very difficult to defend those guys because you've got Ball, you've got Miller, you've got guys that are also
12:16shooting the three very well on that team.
12:19He's going to keep rolling as far as I'm concerned.
12:21And Cooper Flagg, we ain't going to see him again this year, Donnie.
12:25Who are we kidding?
12:26By the way, Cooper Flagg on December 30th was trading at close to 85%, Joe.
12:31Khan Knipple, 6.9%.
12:33And even as early as February 16th, Cooper Flagg, 82%.
12:38Khan Knipple, 15.8%.
12:40And then you see today, Khan Knipple, the favorite, at 55%.
12:44We just talked about the NBA MVP, Joe.
12:47And this is what we talk about.
12:48Ah, why would I take it now?
12:50SGA is the overwhelming favorite.
12:51Did you just see that chart that you have on the screen?
12:53Things can change quickly due to injury and players just hitting the gas pedal and getting that momentum towards the
12:59end of the season.
