00:26The problem is, I'm beginning to get all types of strange reports from the neighboring towns.

00:46Last year, we had a very significant spike in unusual emergency calls.
00:52I gotta tell you, I've never seen anything like it in my 36 years of police work.

01:45There's been a significant number of animal carcasses reported out in a farm in Middleway.

01:50Apparently, a few of the neighbors are starting to speculate that there's some kind of voodoo going on out there.
01:57We're headed to the Browns Farm in Middleway.
02:00It's about 10 to 15 minutes outside of Shepardstown.
02:03Charlestown PD's been out there a couple of times.
02:05It's not just that there's animal carcasses showing up, but the bodies seem to be mutilated.
02:10The neighbors out there actually think that there might be black magic or some sort of thing going on out

02:16A lot of people confuse voodoo with black magic or Satanism, but it's really not related at all.
02:21Plus, catamulations are not typically associated with ghosts or spirits.
02:25And if someone is doing, say, an occult ritual, they could very well be conjuring up this dark presence that
02:30we've been following from town to town.

05:34They're animal prints.
05:35So there isn't any evidence that suggests that people were involved in this, nor your typical
05:40predator.
05:40So I'm leaning towards it being paranormal.
05:43And if it is the dark presence that's committing this animal mutilations, then it's far more
05:47powerful and dangerous than we ever thought.

06:56There's definitely some urgency here to figure out what's going on.
06:59These people are dependent on these cattle for their livelihood.

08:34And then my dog just kept on barking and barking and barking.
08:45I looked out the window, trying to figure out what it was.
08:49That's when I seen the little girl in the window.
08:54Same girl that I seen outside my window.
08:56She was inside my TV.
09:02Basically, you saw this girl and she was outside of your house at first.
09:05Well, I seen her outside the window.
09:06And then like next thing I know, she was in my TV shaking.
09:09Like I seen like a spirit almost, I want to say.

10:27There's a couple possibilities that could have made this happen.
10:30One, obviously, a remote control could have turned it on.

10:37The other possibility is whatever went into her TV before may have came back and turned it on just to
10:42say hi.

10:49Now, it isn't completely uncommon for spirits to manipulate electronic objects.
10:53No, I mean, a lot of people use ITC in order to try and see spirit images in TVs.
11:00When Tammy saw that ghost girl in the television, it was a form of ITC, or instrumental transcommunication, in which
11:07she tried to communicate with her.
11:09And at this point, you know, there's definitely some form of paranormal activity going on here.
11:14And we're really going to need Dana's help to dig up a little more information and history about this property.
11:19I want to show you something.
11:21The Watson house?
11:22The house itself?
11:25That's been there a long time.
11:27It goes back to the Civil War times.
11:29I can't find any evidence that a black family lived on the property where the Watson farm is.
11:36So, from the description of the little girl that was seen, and based on the clothing that was described to
11:46you and Bill, sounds like middle 1800s Civil War era.

11:53So, I'm leaning towards the idea of maybe slaves on that property.
11:58I got my information according to the 1860 census.
12:04In 1850, Jefferson County had 4,341 slaves.
12:10There were, in Middleway, 168 slaves.
12:18Okay, so it lists here how many slaves were with each one of the people that lived in Middleway.
12:25Because we don't know the names of the house servants or slaves that we're looking for, it leads nowhere.
12:31If we did, it would probably be really easy to narrow down whether or not it was possible, especially if
12:36one of these people lived on that property at that time.
12:39At least that gives me a start.
12:41It's kind of like finding a needle in a haystack.
12:45I'm actually going to reach out to Lori and see if she can go over to the Watson farm with
12:50me.
12:50Hopefully, she'll be able to turn into this ghost girl and pick up on maybe a name to help us
12:55identify who she is.

13:20The farm is like 350 to 400 acres large, so, I mean, it could be anywhere on that property.

13:33Even though the animal mutilations on the Browns farm don't seem to be related to the ghost girl at the
13:38Watson house,
13:39there's a chance this negative entity we've been tracking through the cave system is what's striking up activity at both
13:45locations.
13:47Maybe you should reach out to the trapper who helped the Brown family.

19:23You actually saw a woman, a solid figure, walk up here, and she just fell?

19:36Well, I don't really believe in ghosts, per se, but I mean, that's the closest thing I've

19:42We were basically gassed out of the last cave we were investigating in Martinsburg.

19:57to figure out if there's any signs of this negative entity down there that could link these

22:43I mean, I can identify that, especially the two skulls, they're a dog.

22:56Nothing that I've ever come across.
22:58I mean, if there's something killing things and dragging them down in that hole, that's really an unusual hunting pattern

23:06There are a lot of similarities between this case and our previous cases.
23:09I mean, we have limestone, we have an opening to a cave on this property, and we have people seeing
23:16apparitions all of a sudden.
23:17I mean, it definitely points to this negative entity we've been tracking.
23:21But what doesn't make sense to me is these mutilated animal carcasses.
23:25And I think at this point, we have to try to bring in a specialist to help us figure out
23:30if indeed this is paranormal or not.
23:36I found some interesting information pertaining to what Lori found in her psychic discoveries.
23:44I got this out of the story of Smithfield, which was the original name for Middleway.
23:49And here it tells the story.
23:52Back in the 1850s, there was this beloved slave named Susan Richardson, and they called her Aunt Suki.
24:01Aunt Suki had a 12-year-old daughter named Daphne.
24:10The master of the house decided the family had too many slaves.
24:16And he decided he was going to sell off Suki's beloved daughter, Daphne.
24:24The master didn't want his family or the other slaves on the farm to know.
24:29So he set up an arrangement where Daphne was supposed to go to the well.
24:36She was carrying a basket instead of a bucket.
24:39This small basket would identify her to the slave trader, who would then shuffle her off farther south.

24:51Aunt Suki was just devastated.
24:55We don't know what happened to Daphne, but perhaps her spirit went back to the place where she last saw
25:01her mother.
25:03This is so crazy, because when Lori was doing her psychic sweep, she picked up on the fact that she
25:08was probably a mother, and she felt like she was searching for something or someone.
25:14That does make sense.
25:15You know, Tammy, with her experience, when we were there, she kept mentioning this little girl.
25:19Right.
25:20So, you know, it's almost like Tammy experienced this little girl spirit, and Lori was picking up on the mother.
25:25So it wouldn't surprise me if that's who we were dealing with.
25:29I think at this point, what I really need to do is go back to the Watson house and see
25:35if Lori can reunite these two spirits and bring them back together again.
25:39What do you think the connection is between the Brown Farm and the Watson Farm?
25:44Well, it sounds like the woman the trapper saw in the woods may have been the apparition of Aunt Suki,
25:48out looking for her daughter, which definitely links the two properties.

25:53The ghost of this sad, anguished woman looking for her daughter could be the cause of the screams that Riley
25:58heard in the woods.

26:00I mean, while these properties aren't too far apart, that's now.
26:04We don't know how these landlines connected back then.
26:07These farms could have very well been part of the same property.

27:20So 50 yards from the cave is this local deer stand.
27:24This is where hunters use to stalk their prey, and tonight this is where I'm going to be here to
27:28stalk whatever is attacking these animals.
27:32I think this is a great place where we could put up the thermal drone.
27:36Thermal cameras pick up on heat and cold signatures.
27:38So if something warm shows up on camera, like a coyote, then it will show up as red and orange.
27:44And if something cold shows up, possibly maybe paranormal, then it could show up as blue or even black.
27:51There's nothing in there, then we know that it's safe for us to go in.
27:56Anything that could tear apart a huge cow, there's not anything I want to meet by surprise.

31:16And it turns out that the daughter, Daphne, was actually sold out from under her.

40:42However, I actually did talk to the trapper, and he has trapped a couple rabid coyotes.

40:55They were all in one area.
40:57It's not typical for some coyote or anything like that to actually do.

41:18I'm a little confused, though, about the cow that they found, you know, that one day,
41:23it went completely missing the next morning when they went to go actually remove it.
