00:00But how about Clay Holmes?
00:01He's been that rock in that Mets starting rotation now down for six to eight weeks
00:05as he broke his fibula on a comebacker for the Mets,
00:08who seem like they just can't get out of the way on the field,
00:10now being injured just about every single day something new pops up.
00:14This was one they could ill afford.
00:15And Clay Holmes will be down, Craig, for at least two months.
00:19Ouch.
00:20So he joins Francisco Lindor.
00:22And, you know, to David Stearns' credit,
00:25this was a really good siding in Clay Holmes for the New York Mets.
00:28People forget that sometimes not all the moves are bad.
00:32You know, this was a really good move for the Mets.
00:34Now, you know, there's two sides to this.
00:37The first is, of course, the Mets probably out of it.
00:39And you got to wonder if Holmes even comes back at any point, Donnie.
00:42I think that's a fair question to ask.
00:43Do we just see him at the end of the season?
00:45The other thing is that the Mets do have some pretty talented kids in the minors.
00:49We're going to get a chance, I think, this week to see a major league debut,
00:51whether it's early in the week or whether it's later in the week,
00:54Memorial Day weekend, when the Mets travel to Miami.
00:57But they're going to have to piece it together.
00:59We saw, I think, over the weekend, them use an opener already.
01:02Like, they've gone to openers at this point.
01:04That could be the way that the Mets try and piece it together.
01:07They've played better baseball.
01:09And I certainly think, Donnie, and, you know,
01:11we'll discuss the Mets a little bit later.
01:13I think the Mets probably play 500 baseball the rest of the season.
01:15But they dug themselves such a big a hole,
01:17that means they're still going to lose 87, 88 games, something like that.
01:21And that's probably not in the postseason picture.
