00:00I do think we should talk a little bit about Scotty Scheffler
00:03because, I mean, the cut streak that came to an end
00:06was one of the five longest in the history of the PGA Tour.
00:09So he finished even par through 36 holes this week,
00:12two shots outside of that 200-cut line.
00:15That snapped a run of 78 consecutive cuts made,
00:18which was the fifth-longest streak in PGA Tour history
00:20behind Hale Irwin, Jack Nicklaus, Byron Nelson, and Tiger Woods.
00:24First missed cut since the 2022 FedEx St. Jude.
00:27And Matt Fitzpatrick is now your current longest cut streak holder,
00:31longest made cut streak holder, I should say, at 28.
00:34Kind of interesting to see that the other guy who had a long made cut streak,
00:38also his was snapped earlier this year, Xander Shoffley,
00:41had a run of 72 that stopped back in January.
00:46You know, I don't know if I think some people are going to kind of
00:49overanalyze the missed cut, but I think maybe the greater context
00:52is the season itself and what a bizarro season it's felt like for Scotty
00:56because he goes out and wins his first start of the year at the Amex.
00:59He has four runner-up finishes this season,
01:02most recently lost that playoff to Victor Hovland, the Travelers.
01:05He has nine top fives in 14 starts this season.
01:09But, you know, he misses the cut this week to end that streak,
01:11and you're looking at a nine-time winner in 2024,
01:15a six-time winner in 2025,
01:17and he keeps getting asked these questions every single week of,
01:20you know, do you feel like it's,
01:22this season hasn't lived up to a standard or whatever else.
01:25And I just wonder where the most recent set of reflections you have
01:30on Scotty Scheffler's year stand.
01:33Well, he's, he's had a good year, right?
01:36Like this is a, this is a, you know, he didn't have a good Friday.
01:40Like again, his iron game wasn't very good.
01:42And he talked about it after the round, just, you know,
01:45getting a gust here or there at some shots,
01:46but still like that's something that,
01:48that has kind of shown up at times this year,
01:49not being quite as precise was really good at the Travelers championship.
01:52And then also turn it on at the U S open.
01:54So like we've seen some good recent forums.
01:56So I think very,
01:57very surprised to see him miss the cut.
