00:00:01Four extraordinary worlds steeped in tradition
00:00:05are opening their doors
00:00:06Hopefully it's not haunted
00:00:07to four groups of young Brits
00:00:10I'm a bit nervous now
00:00:11ready to take a giant leap out of their comfort zones
00:00:14I'm just a 24-7 princess
00:00:16What happens when a generation raised online
00:00:20All we care about is how we look
00:00:22I've really rotted my brain from TikTok
00:00:24come face to face with regimes built on no-nonsense rules
00:00:28How long I've got to spend in silence?
00:00:30Actually more than 10 hours
00:00:33Where loyalty and principles really count
00:00:36You had your blazer done off in my school
00:00:37You was a weirdo
00:00:38I don't want to do this anymore
00:00:40Will this unique clash of values
00:00:43Whatever I was expecting this is 50, 100% more
00:00:46Welcome to hell
00:00:46And cultures
00:00:49Lead to conflict
00:00:50Everybody can stand right here and shut the f*** up
00:00:53Or lasting change
00:00:54There comes a point where it's not fun and cool anymore
00:00:57And after each unforgettable week
00:01:00It was amazing
00:01:01We're top of the world right now
00:01:02Will either side ever be the same again?
00:01:05I think I've just found three friends
00:01:07It's been the most funniest, strangest, abnormal week of my life
00:01:13I feel like I've had an epiphany
00:01:15This time
00:01:16Which one's the best room?
00:01:18Three pampered young Brits used to very comfortable lives
00:01:22The only manual labour I'm doing is holding up a phone and a selfie light
00:01:25Bunk down with the cowboys at a wild west ranch
00:01:28Can you get
00:01:29Are those Crocs?
00:01:32Where hard graft, grit and teamwork are the difference between life and death
00:01:39As long as you can stay on the horse, you're probably going to survive
00:01:42Can those who tend to quit when the going gets tough
00:01:46Don't get upset
00:01:47I just can't do that noise
00:01:49Gain the strength needed to survive
00:01:53In one of the world's most unforgiving environments
00:01:56You're not even breathing heavy after that
00:01:58Can people who always look out for number one
00:02:01If I want something I will get it
00:02:03Yee-haw
00:02:04And those who do everything for others
00:02:07This is like proper cowboy stuff
00:02:10Ever ride side by side
00:02:12Wow
00:02:13I actually did it
00:02:15Yeah
00:02:21The cowboys at TA Ranch in Buffalo, Wyoming work in one of the toughest places on earth
00:02:27Everything that you've ever seen in a western movie
00:02:30Is based on Buffalo, Wyoming or Johnson County
00:02:34It's truly the birthplace of the cowboy
00:02:42They're about to welcome three new ranch hands who know very little about a hard day's graft
00:02:47Oh my god, it's there
00:02:49Like, I don't say I'm lazy
00:02:51I just think
00:02:53Yeah, okay, maybe I'm a bit lazy
00:02:56Since leaving school last year, 19-year-old Kyra from Birmingham
00:03:00Has already quit one university course and two jobs
00:03:04I've had two 9-5 jobs
00:03:06One was Greg's and one was a pub
00:03:08I just couldn't do it
00:03:10Like, being at 9am
00:03:11I was like
00:03:139am? That is early
00:03:14I just don't rush in life
00:03:16I take it slow
00:03:18Her cushy life is propped up by her parents
00:03:21Especially her stock trader dad who lives in Dubai
00:03:25Both my parents spoil me rotten
00:03:26My mum spoils me with love
00:03:29Food
00:03:29Dad spoils me with shopping
00:03:32Everything's on daddy
00:03:33When I go there, he's like, here's my card, take it
00:03:35I'm like, thank you
00:03:36Because, yeah, I'll be tapping that like, no tomorrow
00:03:39But what looks like a stress-free life can leave her feeling anxious
00:03:44Sometimes I do envy some of my friends who have a plan
00:03:47I feel like I haven't found my purpose yet
00:03:48What?
00:03:5122-year-old Miles from Nottingham
00:03:54Is an A-grade student who's good at getting what he wants
00:03:57Especially from other people
00:04:00I'm very good at delegating
00:04:03He can be quite bossy
00:04:05He likes to have things his own way
00:04:07Someone needs to hide that I'm not doing that
00:04:10I don't give up easily if it's something I want to do
00:04:13But if it's something that doesn't interest me
00:04:15And I'm not going to benefit from it
00:04:17What's the point?
00:04:18Miles enjoys a life of luxury
00:04:19Thanks to the generosity of mum and dad
00:04:22What do you say your parents spoil with you?
00:04:26Um...
00:04:26Brous-la-ron
00:04:27My family would probably say
00:04:30Brous-la-ron
00:04:31I'm quite expensive
00:04:35Another one
00:04:36I know that I'm lucky and my parents buy me nice things
00:04:40I want to learn more
00:04:41I want to better myself
00:04:42Why am I going to have to haul my mum?
00:04:4519-year-old Keegan lives at home with his family in Manchester
00:04:49He's a self-confessed mummy's boy
00:04:51And she does everything for him
00:04:53I can't make breakfast
00:04:54The only breakfast I can make is cereal
00:04:57My mum, her love language is cooking, cleaning and doing everything
00:05:01So I haven't really had to do much of that
00:05:03I don't really hoover
00:05:04I can't do the washing machine, the dryer
00:05:07I did make toast last year
00:05:10But that is the only time I've ever made a toast
00:05:13He may enjoy his home comforts
00:05:15But without basic life skills
00:05:17Keegan lacks the confidence to move on
00:05:20Ooh! Is that a wasp?
00:05:23I don't do wasp
00:05:25Where I live it's just boring
00:05:26It's just dull
00:05:27Like I'm ready for something new
00:05:29I need to get out of there ASAP
00:05:31But I'm kind of holding myself back
00:05:36He'll need to step up significantly
00:05:40To survive the Wild West
00:05:44The toughest thing about being a cowgirl
00:05:46Is the fact that like your job never stops
00:05:48We're working 16 hour days
00:05:50Seven days a week covered in shit
00:05:53It's a lot of hard work
00:05:55You're sweating all day every day
00:05:57Sometimes you don't get to shower every day
00:06:01You have to be very self resilient
00:06:03And it's so easy to be overwhelmed
00:06:08We need all hands on deck
00:06:11So if you're sitting down and you're not working
00:06:15But other people are
00:06:16That's not going to go over well
00:06:19Time to tell our intrepid
00:06:21Sorry indulged
00:06:22Trio exactly where they're going
00:06:24There is a cowboy ranch
00:06:28Oh my god
00:06:29Like a ranch vibe
00:06:32Oh my god
00:06:34Are we actually doing work?
00:06:36Do I have to muck out?
00:06:37Every day?
00:06:38One thing I'm definitely not doing
00:06:40It's like when you put the hand in the cowl's bum
00:06:43Oh I'm not doing that
00:06:49Having travelled thousands of miles to get here
00:06:51All three have high expectations of what they want from the week
00:06:55I do think I need to learn to be a little bit less in control
00:06:59Maybe I'm more willing to participate in things that I wouldn't want to do normally
00:07:04Do either of you ride?
00:07:09Horses
00:07:09No
00:07:13I don't like the outdoors, I don't like bugs, I don't like dirt
00:07:16So this is completely like new vibe for me, new territory
00:07:21This experience could be a good little kickstarter to me
00:07:24Growing the fuck up and just doing shit for myself
00:07:27I'm actually nervous
00:07:28What are you nervous for?
00:07:31Like the big animals like cows, horses, bulls
00:07:35I want my family to learn that I'm not just, you know, lazy
00:07:40That I can do hard work and I can do a challenge
00:07:42Prove them wrong, I'm going to a ranch, what are you doing?
00:07:46But change doesn't come easy, they're going to have to graft for it
00:07:51I need people to work
00:07:52And Miles, Keegan and Kyra have no idea what's about to hit them
00:07:57If you've never left your parents or never left home
00:08:00Or if you're not a self-sufficient person, that's a giant red flag
00:08:03Still to come
00:08:06Something's leaked in my bag
00:08:08The reality of ranch life bites
00:08:11What?
00:08:12Oh my God
00:08:13As the Brits get to work
00:08:14Like never before
00:08:16I don't think I've done that much hard work since
00:08:19Ever
00:08:20That is my idea of hell
00:08:22Well, welcome to hell
00:08:28Three pampered young Brits have left their comfortable lives behind
00:08:32To spend a week at one of the hardest working places on earth
00:08:36TA Cowboy Ranch, Wyoming
00:08:38Lovely to meet you
00:08:39Nice to meet you
00:08:40Their welcome party consists of third generation cowboy Tucker
00:08:44Welcome guys to Wyoming
00:08:46We got a little bit of a drive back to the ranch
00:08:48Let's get your bags in and everything
00:08:50What in the...
00:08:51Fresh from picking up the pack goats
00:08:54He's crazy!
00:08:55That's not even funny
00:08:57What are we sitting in it?
00:08:58No, this is just for your bags
00:09:00Excuse me!
00:09:02Will they shit on my luggage?
00:09:03Probably not
00:09:05Yeah, you guys go ahead and call in
00:09:09They are so cute
00:09:10Oh my God!
00:09:12It's closed, it's closed
00:09:13It's closed
00:09:14Behind me!
00:09:19Okay, time to go
00:09:21Guys, we're literally going to be living like a cowboy
00:09:28Is your family the ranch owners?
00:09:31Yeah
00:09:31So the ranch has been around since 1880
00:09:33Oh!
00:09:37With 8,000 acres of land and almost 400 livestock to nurture
00:09:41It takes three generations of one family to keep this ranch running
00:09:44This lifestyle would not suit somebody that is not a team player
00:09:51Out here, even octogenarian grandparents like Earl and Barbara
00:09:55Don't get to sit in front of the TV
00:09:57You just can't rely on being able to call someone out to come fix whatever you need at that moment
00:10:02And so you have to be very self resilient
00:10:04Is it a lot of really hard work?
00:10:06It's hard work
00:10:07Is it physical labor all the time?
00:10:09It is
00:10:09Do I complain?
00:10:11Incessantly?
00:10:12Absolutely
00:10:13Because it's lifting 50 pound bags of beads
00:10:16And crawling in pig pens and getting covered in pig schmutz
00:10:19But do I love every minute of it?
00:10:21I do
00:10:23For the next week, Myles, Keegan and Kyra will be expected to stick to the core cowboy values
00:10:30Teamwork, resilience and hard graft
00:10:33I can't wait to see you guys doing manual labor
00:10:36I can't wait to see you doing manual labor
00:10:41My nightmare job
00:10:43Be told what to do, be told what time to get there
00:10:45Be told to do anything
00:10:47I hate waking up early
00:10:49I don't like getting muddy
00:10:52And I don't like being physically exhausted
00:10:55Hi!
00:10:56Hi! How are you guys?
00:10:58Along with Tucker, the ranch is run by his sister Caitlin
00:11:02Hi, hi, I'm Kyra
00:11:04I'm Kirsten
00:11:05And matriarch of the family, Kirsten
00:11:08So these are your guys' bags for the week?
00:11:10Yeah
00:11:10You guys know you're staying here for like seven days
00:11:12I know
00:11:14I'll help carry these two bags
00:11:16As long as you've got the heavy ones, thanks
00:11:18My hair
00:11:21Oh, there's shit!
00:11:23Oh my god, there's shit!
00:11:24It's a ranch, there's shit everywhere
00:11:26No!
00:11:28We're gonna have to toughen you guys up
00:11:31Which one's the best room?
00:11:33They're all the same
00:11:36I don't think I'll ever stay in anything as basic as this
00:11:39There's no TV
00:11:43Oh my god, sorry, my pet peeve is when the double bed is two singles
00:11:47Yeah, yeah
00:11:47That is my idea of hell
00:11:48Well, welcome to hell
00:11:50I wouldn't stay in a four-star hotel
00:11:54Period
00:11:55I know that sounds so spoiled
00:11:56But genuinely, I think five-star is an essential
00:12:00Why is it not made?
00:12:02Out here, like you guys are in charge of your own accommodations
00:12:04I gave you guys clean sheets, but you guys are gonna have to put this together
00:12:08Number one rule is, expect to be uncomfortable
00:12:11I just don't wanna hear how uncomfortable you are
00:12:13I just need to see you work
00:12:15Cause usually like, you have an accommodation, it's usually done for you
00:12:18If you're in a hotel, you guys are here to work like ranch hands
00:12:20You can sleep with an unmade bed, I don't care
00:12:23I really...
00:12:26Having to make their own beds is just the first of many ranch rules
00:12:30What I'm gonna do too is, I am gonna need everybody's cell phones
00:12:33I need everybody to work, so we're gonna be in a cell phone freeze zone
00:12:37Okay
00:12:38Do I have to?
00:12:39Actually, if you want, send last messages, send like SOS's
00:12:43Unpack, make your beds
00:12:45And I'm gonna need you guys to put on stuff that you're not gonna get worried about
00:12:48If it gets kinda dirty or anything like that
00:12:50More use to room service than self-service, Miles calls in backup
00:12:55Can you help me make my bed?
00:12:58I'm the maid, Miles
00:13:03Meanwhile, Keegan has a different set of priorities
00:13:07The most important thing is not about the bedding, it's about what I'm about to wear
00:13:15I just don't get this
00:13:17So does this?
00:13:18Because this isn't like a doop, this is just a sheet
00:13:23I think I just want to kind of discover how I would adapt to being in this completely new environment
00:13:29Where I'm gonna have to do everything for myself
00:13:33Something's leaked in my bag
00:13:36Oh my god
00:13:37Oh, I think my deodorant's exploded in my bag
00:13:41What am I gonna do?
00:13:43At uni once, when I was living there in first year, I paid one of the people to do my
00:13:48best
00:13:48I just don't know what I'm gonna do
00:13:52But in the Wild West, there's no time for a meltdown
00:13:59This is a critical time on the ranch
00:14:02Winter is closing in, and in just one week's time
00:14:05The precious 200-strong cattle herd must be brought in from distant fields for their safety
00:14:10So these things are not domesticated, these are wild animals
00:14:14Kyra, Keegan, and Miles will be challenged to play their part
00:14:18Working as fully-fledged cowboys to help guide the cattle on horseback through the hostile Wild West terrain
00:14:25Pushing the cows is the most stressful job on the ranch
00:14:32It's notorious for being very difficult
00:14:36It's so much stress for everyone involved
00:14:39You can get bucked off, you can get stomped on, you can get trampled
00:14:43To be ready for the cattle drive in six days' time
00:14:46Our work-shy Brits must start their training immediately
00:14:49From the bottom up
00:14:52No, I fucking stay
00:14:54They have been summoned to the stables
00:14:57I'm a bit nauseous
00:14:58By the ranch's chief cowgirl, Tori
00:15:02We've got to get this corral mucked
00:15:04We've got to pick up all the manure piles that are around here
00:15:06Let's do it
00:15:08Ranch work is all about teamwork
00:15:10Keegan, this is yours
00:15:12Thanks so much
00:15:16Here, mucking out means mucking in
00:15:18All right, Kyra, this one's yours
00:15:21Thank you
00:15:21You're welcome
00:15:22And I'll be joining you guys
00:15:25Oh, it stinks
00:15:26The first job on the ranch is the shit shoveling
00:15:30This is pretty simple work
00:15:32But it's about an attitude
00:15:35I'm trying to get as much as possible
00:15:38What we're expecting them to do is a team effort
00:15:41Kyra and Keegan get stuck in
00:15:45Oh, fuck
00:15:47But horse savvy Miles wants to do it his way
00:15:50Maybe if the other Brits can't ride, I could micromanage them and ask them to do the mucking out
00:15:56True to his word, Miles starts delegating
00:16:01How about I put them in piles and you scoop it?
00:16:06So there's a massive pile there
00:16:07I'm very good at teamwork when I want to
00:16:10But naturally, I'm a leader
00:16:13I'm doing the piles and they can scoop
00:16:16My friends might describe me as a little bit bossy, but only in a good way
00:16:21So it looks like Miles is delegating some of the heavy lifting
00:16:26So he's moving things into a bigger pile
00:16:28So that Playa and Keegan have to move it to the muck trough
00:16:36Hey Miles, can you come here
00:16:39How many piles do you think you moved from the actual pile to the muck bin?
00:16:44I was helping everyone out by putting them in piles
00:16:46Mm-hmm, rather than walking the distance
00:16:49I tried so hard
00:16:51This is a necessity, this is something that we have to complete or else we can't ride
00:16:55I just want to make sure that we are all doing everything
00:16:58I think that if Miles would take a step back and realise
00:17:01What it really means to be a team player and what it really means to be a cowboy
00:17:05Could be a step in the right direction
00:17:08You're unstoppable when you're a good team, but when you're a bad team, it's a mess
00:17:12Poop scooped, the final job of the day is to feed the animals
00:17:16Ew!
00:17:17I don't think I've done that much hard work since...
00:17:21Ever
00:17:23All three Brits will be expected to take on their own chores for the week
00:17:30Miles is responsible for looking after the chickens
00:17:33Kyra's on goat duty
00:17:34And Keegan has been asked to take charge of feeding the horses
00:17:37The lifeblood of the ranch
00:17:39So Keegan, you're going to be responsible for this
00:17:42What time?
00:17:44I'm thinking at a Porsche
00:17:47Nine
00:17:48I'm thinking more like six
00:17:50If you don't do this, the horses don't have food or water
00:17:53Just remind me because I'll forget
00:17:55If you don't take care of your responsibility to the animals
00:17:58Then you're letting them down
00:18:00Just like you're letting your co-workers or your family down
00:18:05I don't think I'm the most reliable person that she could have chose to keep the horses alive, to be
00:18:10honest
00:18:11But I'm going to do my best and hope that the horses don't die on my watch
00:18:17Day one done, it's time to compare notes
00:18:21Oh, so how did the guys work out for you today?
00:18:25Um, they were pretty good
00:18:27Um, there's definitely
00:18:30How was Kyra?
00:18:31When we were heading over to the mall, she screamed when she like went over poop
00:18:36I think the most challenging thing today was actually finishing off the work
00:18:40Because usually I'm just like, no, I'm tired, I've had enough
00:18:43Keegan tried his best
00:18:45Uh, I think this was a very new experience for him
00:18:48And, you know, I'm proud that he at least tried it
00:18:50Obviously I knew I'd be doing some type of like ranch farm work
00:18:54But to actually see it in person I was like, shit
00:18:58Miles won't even carry his own luggage
00:19:00Yeah, he did alright
00:19:02The most difficult thing today was when Tori said she didn't think I did enough work
00:19:07Because to be completely honest, I'm still very butthurt about that
00:19:11Because I know that I was the most hard-working person today
00:19:14I think he definitely had some protesting still left in him
00:19:19I definitely think across the board that they've got to improve on, you know, not complaining about the workload
00:19:26Because they haven't faced a fraction of what we do on a day-to-day basis
00:19:32Oh my god
00:19:34Still to come
00:19:35Yee-haw
00:19:36Caitlin puts her foot down
00:19:38What you think?
00:19:39Okay, we're gonna pick a different pair of boots
00:19:41The Brits saddle up
00:19:44Keegan, think about what you're doing
00:19:46And emotions run high
00:19:48I'm like really trying my best
00:19:49I know
00:19:59It's 8am on the ranch and already two hours into its working day
00:20:05Hello?
00:20:06And the rookie ranchers are nowhere to be seen
00:20:08Hello
00:20:09You guys up?
00:20:10Yeah
00:20:10Hello
00:20:11Hey
00:20:13Last night, Keegan was given the responsibility of feeding the horses
00:20:17But their daily dose of hay is yet to be delivered
00:20:21Keegan
00:20:23I thought someone was gonna come and tell me to do it
00:20:25I didn't know I had to do it myself
00:20:27He has, however, had time to put a comfy casual outfit together
00:20:31Keegan, are those Crocs?
00:20:34I don't think they're really gonna work for out in that mud
00:20:36Do you got other shoes?
00:20:37Yeah
00:20:37Yeah?
00:20:38Let's change
00:20:39It's not just Keegan that has morning chores to do
00:20:44Aware Kyra lacks staying power
00:20:46The ranchers have decided she should tend to the goats
00:20:50This is now time for you to learn how to assert your dominance
00:20:53I'm not going in there
00:20:55You are?
00:20:55I'm not
00:20:56No, you have to
00:20:56Have you seen the way they're attacking each of us?
00:20:58They're fucking feral men
00:21:00Yeah
00:21:00If she can tackle them, she can tackle anything
00:21:04My least favourite to work with would be the goats
00:21:07The goats, I will say, it's an everyday
00:21:10They are just mischievous and curious
00:21:12You ready?
00:21:14No
00:21:14You gotta be boss
00:21:15Meanwhile, Tucker is giving Keegan a helping hand to kickstart his confidence
00:21:20That whole thing
00:21:22Yup
00:21:22Fucking hell
00:21:25Fucking hell
00:21:25I can't
00:21:27Miles is comfortable handling animals
00:21:29So Kirsten is trusting him to look after her priced flock
00:21:32Miles
00:21:33These are the boxes
00:21:35This is what I'd like you to do everyday
00:21:36Pick those eggs up and put them in a box
00:21:39No!
00:21:40Oh my god
00:21:41Oh my god
00:21:44Go on sweetie
00:21:46That's very fresh
00:21:48Take it away from the goats
00:21:50Dump it, like, up and over
00:21:51Oh, I'm getting crushed
00:21:53That is all the chores done
00:21:55See you later chickens
00:21:57Yeah, I'm not doing that everyday
00:21:58I really can't
00:22:00It's too much
00:22:01The back and forth nurse
00:22:02Like, there's no machines
00:22:03Like, it's a lot
00:22:07In just five days
00:22:09These apprentice cowboys will be on horseback
00:22:12Driving hundreds of cattle across some seriously unforgiving terrain
00:22:18So how was this morning, you guys?
00:22:21It was exhausting
00:22:23Hard wearing clothing is vital
00:22:25Tucker told me that you wore Crocs
00:22:30Cowboy boots are super important because if you're riding and you're not wearing boots and horse bucks
00:22:35Your foot can go through the stirrup and you can be dragged
00:22:39To be honest, like, everything that you guys are wearing is just not going to work out for horseback riding
00:22:43And when we're out on the planes, there's rattlesnakes and all sorts of stuff
00:22:47So we want to make sure that we have protection
00:22:49I think we're going to have to go into town and get you guys fitted out because this is not
00:22:53going to work out for us, so
00:22:55Caitlin finally suggests something her new team are enthusiastic about
00:22:59Let's go shopping!
00:23:0420 miles from the ranch, they arrive in the town of Buffalo
00:23:10It's so pretty
00:23:12Once frequented by outlaws and gunslingers, today there are three very different strangers in town
00:23:19So the number one thing that we need to focus on is boots because boots are the most functional item
00:23:24that we need here
00:23:24So, follow me
00:23:27Find something in this section, okay?
00:23:30For Caitlin, it's a chance to remind the Greenhorns that in the big country
00:23:34Clothes, just like the cowboys who wear them, must be sturdy and practical
00:23:39The white ones!
00:23:41Oh my god, they're so you, they're so me, they're so tea
00:23:45Sadly for Caitlin, it appears these wannabe fashionistas are confusing the cattle drive for a catwalk
00:23:51I just wouldn't go with my outfits, but it's cute though
00:23:54Okay, it doesn't matter if it goes with your outfits
00:23:58We're Gen Z, all we care about is style and fashion and how we look
00:24:01Even if there's nobody around, literally
00:24:04Put those down, you're not allowed to wear that
00:24:07We've got to get a straw hat because it's about the type of work we're going to be doing for
00:24:10the rest of the week
00:24:11We really don't want a straw hat
00:24:12Well, we're going to get one, so
00:24:15So honestly, the biggest concern that I have is making sure that these guys aren't complaining
00:24:18Um, when we're on the trail, right?
00:24:21And they've got blisters on their feet and they can't walk and they can't do the things that they need
00:24:25to do
00:24:25Um, I'm kind of worried about that
00:24:28Okay, go try them on
00:24:29Do they have a lighter color?
00:24:31At this point, you have to get going
00:24:36Feel that?
00:24:37What do you think?
00:24:38They are so iconic
00:24:40Kyra, can you imagine walking through, cow shit, horse shit?
00:24:43But at least I look good
00:24:44Who's looking at you? Nobody cares what you look like
00:24:46It's about having the right thing for the right job
00:24:49Back home, Kyra is used to getting what she wants
00:24:52My dad would pay for the shopping because, yeah, I don't work, so it's all on him
00:24:58I have a wish list of what I want to get
00:25:00And the best thing that I like about this one is it's got a nice little heel on it
00:25:04Functional, functional
00:25:06I don't think functional, I think stylish
00:25:07Okay
00:25:08I'm too much
00:25:09They are stunning
00:25:10Oh my God
00:25:12They're on sale, they're on sale
00:25:14Okay, so
00:25:17Yee-haw!
00:25:19But here in the Wild West, Kaitlyn isn't afraid to say no
00:25:23Okay, we're going to pick a different pair of boots
00:25:26So, I will be worried about the boots
00:25:30I'm not angry, but strong
00:25:31I'm a bit agitated
00:25:33Because I'm not used to saying, wear that, have this one
00:25:36Oh, you can't have that because it don't look nice
00:25:37Or that's not going to suit you
00:25:39I'm used to just, yeah, I want that, I'm going to get it
00:25:41Oh, there we go
00:25:43That's it, that's the one
00:25:45Kaitlyn puts her foot down and chooses no-nonsense outfits for the Brits
00:25:49Right, we found your boot
00:25:51Done
00:25:51Period
00:25:54This is a moment where I've had to kind of just be like, suck it off and just do what
00:26:00you need to do
00:26:01So I think we're ready to check out
00:26:07Back at the ranch, the cowboy Brits are told to change and head to the paddock
00:26:13So given our experience yesterday, the number one thing that we're going to be looking for is horses that aren't
00:26:17going to kill these guys
00:26:21Oh my gosh, this is way better
00:26:24And finally, the first bit of positive feedback for the new recruits
00:26:28We've got boots, we've got jeans, we've got hats
00:26:32Now that we're all ready to ride, I need you guys to be totally self-sufficient on working these horses
00:26:38by the end of the week
00:26:39It's essential the Brits get to grips with riding
00:26:42In just a few days, they will be expected to drive cattle through the rugged Wyoming landscape
00:26:49Oh, it's very dangerous to ride a horse
00:26:51I mean, you have to think about the risk
00:26:52There's no way to get a horse to submit
00:26:55So I want you to hold on to the pommel
00:26:57Do a big jump
00:26:58And push yourself up with that left foot
00:27:01How we train a horse is to make that horse trust a person
00:27:05Straighten that leg and send that right leg over
00:27:09Send it
00:27:10Yeah!
00:27:12Yeah! Good job!
00:27:14You got it
00:27:16Yep, yep, yep, go, go, go
00:27:19Oh yeah, look at you girl
00:27:20Oh my God, in jeans, it's so much harder
00:27:24Yeah, there you go
00:27:27So, pull him back over here, Miles
00:27:29As a regular polo player, Miles is at home on horseback
00:27:33And naturally, he takes the reins
00:27:36Good, how do you feel, Miles?
00:27:38I want to get into a truck now
00:27:39In one minute we will
00:27:42All right, so when you want to stop, what did I say?
00:27:44Pull back
00:27:45Pull back and you say, whoa
00:27:46Whoa
00:27:47For Keegan, this is his first time on a horse since he was five
00:27:51And then how to go forward?
00:27:53Try to cluck with your teeth, like
00:27:56You got it, you got it, you got it
00:28:00But it's looking like he ain't got it
00:28:02I can't do it, can I think of a different noise?
00:28:05Because I don't want to do that
00:28:06You got to try that, that's how they're trained
00:28:08So the big thing that we're doing when we're training people on how to ride a horse
00:28:12Is how to be confident
00:28:15Don't get upset
00:28:16I just can't do that noise
00:28:18Take a breath, hold on, Keegan, think about what you're doing
00:28:21It's really making me mad that I can't do it
00:28:23Keegan, just click
00:28:27Guys, I can't do it, it's not working
00:28:31It's clear that a lack of confidence is holding Keegan back
00:28:35The big thing about Keegan is like, he's just giving up halfway through
00:28:40He's not even trying
00:28:40And it's because he's like getting in his mind and he's making himself fail
00:28:44Guys, this is really hard
00:28:49Horses read you to your soul the minute they meet you
00:28:54They know who you are, they know what your challenges are, they know things about you emotionally
00:28:58Within 30 seconds of going to ride the horse
00:29:02I hated that
00:29:03I thought it was going to be easier and I get really mad when I can't do anything
00:29:06I know that's a bit bratty of me, but it's just how I am
00:29:09And I just get really mad when I can't do anything, right?
00:29:13Tory wants to find out why Keegan is so self-defeating
00:29:17I've just always been like that, so it's like if I can't do something I just get mad at myself
00:29:21Why?
00:29:22Are you kind of putting that pressure on yourself?
00:29:25Yeah, it's more like I just have everything in my head telling me like
00:29:29Like everyone's looking at you
00:29:31I mean do you have somebody in your life that makes you feel like you're not good enough?
00:29:36I think I did, but not anymore but like certain things have just stuck with me
00:29:40Sure, yeah
00:29:42How it was made out to me in high school was that being gay was bad
00:29:47So that was like something that I was so scared of and I just
00:29:51And it made me think in my head like that is wrong like everyone bullied me on the basis of
00:29:57Well, you're gonna go to hell
00:29:59They made me feel like it was so wrong
00:30:01I don't know
00:30:02I don't know
00:30:03I just get really like worked up in my head and I just like
00:30:07I think I'm my biggest hater
00:30:11I was like in a really big state of depression like I was definitely like in a place of just
00:30:18self-hate
00:30:21It's just voices in my head
00:30:24That always like stop me from doing things but I'm like really trying my best so
00:30:30I'm trying
00:30:31I know
00:30:33It's just really sad to see because someone so young should never feel so disheartened and depressed and upset about
00:30:41their own skill set when they've really not experienced anything in life
00:30:46I've only known you for two days not even I've seen you do hard things and so you are your
00:30:52biggest hater like it's okay to be bad at things that are new to you
00:30:55Yeah
00:30:57So you got to really believe in yourself because you've got a support system you got me you got all
00:31:02of us
00:31:10I think the hardest thing I did today was addressing things that I don't usually address in my head
00:31:19He kind of had an emotional breakdown and started crying in the corral which I mean we've all cried in
00:31:24the corral
00:31:26Like when I've got issues I will just go on my phone and I will distract my mind
00:31:31But being here I have to think about the things that I don't think about
00:31:36I think he had that aha moment where he just needs to be more confident in himself
00:31:42So you know given everything that you guys have seen today how do you think it's going to go at
00:31:46the end of the week?
00:31:47I mean at the end of the week we've got to move the cows and where do you think we're
00:31:50going to be?
00:31:53I honestly have no idea I mean I'm going to be honest like things are not looking good right now
00:31:57I don't know how we're going to get them out on the trail to be perfectly honest
00:32:00I just don't see how it's going to happen
00:32:04You're not even breathing heavy after that
00:32:07Still to come
00:32:08I think we're just going to need a little bit of humility
00:32:10It's time for tough love
00:32:12If I get all the way down here and get back to where you're at
00:32:15There's going to be a problem
00:32:16As the Cowboys
00:32:18I'm bored of that
00:32:19Lay down the law
00:32:20Everybody come stand right here and shut the fuck up
00:32:31Life in the Wild West is brutal
00:32:35Everyone's survival relies on working together and that goes for the entire ranching community
00:32:43Today Caitlin has been asked to help at the local cattle auction by some fellow cowboys
00:32:49Yesterday we went shopping for clothes but I just want to let you guys know that this is my kind
00:32:53of shopping
00:32:57This is the Buffalo livestock auction and what this is is the business end of what we do here
00:33:02It's a chance to teach her three new ranch hands that being a cowboy is a serious business
00:33:08I just want you to remember you're under my name, okay?
00:33:11So if we do something bad out here, it's going to look bad on me
00:33:14The cattle bought and sold here are the main source of income for local ranchers
00:33:20I want you guys to stand right here and I want you guys to get a count as they come
00:33:23off the trailer, okay?
00:33:26Miles, Kyra and Keegan must count how many cows each rancher has brought for auction
00:33:31Where they'll be paid a price per head
00:33:34Five
00:33:36Six
00:33:37Seven
00:33:39By getting the new recruits involved in this critical part of the process
00:33:43Caitlin wants to show them the importance of doing a job properly
00:33:47How many did you guys get?
00:33:49How many?
00:33:52You guys
00:33:52One cow makes a massive difference for these guys
00:33:57I mean we're talking about a loss of $3,000
00:33:59That's why you have to give it total focus
00:34:02When are we allowed a break?
00:34:04A break? No
00:34:05Oh my gosh
00:34:08Today isn't just about testing their ability to count
00:34:11It's testing their ability to stay on task
00:34:16An essential lesson for the upcoming cattle drive
00:34:20First time I ever learned that we had to finish a job that we started was actually when we were
00:34:25pushing cows
00:34:25You just can't stop
00:34:27You can't say I quit
00:34:30I mean you're literally in the middle of nowhere and it's seven miles to ride home
00:34:34So when your butt's sore, everything hurts, you don't get a choice, you have to ride through the pain
00:34:40It's so boring, like, standing still, like, counting cows
00:34:44My resilience is really being tested to the absolute max
00:34:49The trucks keep coming, the cows keep moving and the counting doesn't stop
00:34:54Neither does the moaning from two of the new ranchers
00:34:57I'm bored of there
00:34:59Same, I'm so bored
00:35:01There's no stimulation in my brain
00:35:03Who's standing there?
00:35:05Having done her best to be patient, Caitlin decides it's time for some tough love
00:35:10You know what we're going to do? Everybody come stand right here and shut the fuck up
00:35:14I'm going to see if you guys can actually stand here and not talk
00:35:17Like, literally, like, stand here in silence and we're going to watch
00:35:22Right here, shut up
00:35:26These guys are counting on us, so, like, if we fail, they're going to have to do it over again
00:35:30So that's why we've got to be quiet, we've got to be serious
00:35:34People are making, trying to make money here
00:35:39What else I want to do?
00:35:41Like, I want to talk and, like, socialise because I don't have my phone
00:35:45So just being fired, it was tough, man
00:35:51Back home, Kyra lives with her mum and sister, while dad lives in Dubai
00:35:56My mum is a young mum, so, I feel like I got away with a lot of stuff as a
00:36:01kid
00:36:02So my dad came back into my life when I was, like, seven years old
00:36:05It did make me realise that, you know, my mum is, like, my style
00:36:10Like, she's my super mum, literally, she does everything
00:36:12To my dad, it's more of, like, the materialistic things that I get spoiled with
00:36:16So, like, design the brands, the trips to Dubai all the time
00:36:19Dad's always constantly working
00:36:21When I go there, he's like, here's my card, take it
00:36:24So I'll just go down some more and just spend it on nice food
00:36:27So we do spend time when we can, but it's one of them ones
00:36:32Kyra's comfortable life means she's never had the incentive to stick to anything she doesn't like
00:36:37But if I found my purpose, I would definitely put that into my everyday life
00:36:42And try and find what works for me
00:36:47Caitlin wants to try to understand why Kyra finds it so hard to see things through
00:36:52It's probably just, like, not finding the right thing for me
00:36:55I feel like, in life, I go into a lot of things and I quit
00:36:58So it's definitely just endurance and actually going through something
00:37:02The only currency we have here is work, hard work
00:37:05Because when you're working hard and you're focused on the work and you're doing things together as a team
00:37:10I think we give pride doing it
00:37:12At the end of the day, if you can hang your hat on all the hard work that you're doing
00:37:15Nobody can bring you down, being a boss, right?
00:37:18Boss bitch, period
00:37:19I love that, thank you, I was so sentimental, Caitlin
00:37:22Really? I really meant it, you really mean it
00:37:24I really mean it like that, yeah
00:37:28I actually really like the conversation
00:37:30Because usually she's shying at me
00:37:32Or telling me what to do and bossing me around
00:37:34But yeah, she's basically trying to stay confident
00:37:37Giving a bad bitch, period
00:37:38And it's, and I see that, even Caitlin
00:37:40Like, I can see that she's very confident
00:37:42I feel like, my issue is, I start it and I don't finish it
00:37:48I can feel it changing just a tad
00:37:51We are getting somewhere, but I feel like every day
00:37:54It's going to be harder than the day before
00:37:56But, that's just resilience, isn't it?
00:38:04When people say something that makes you upset, what do you do?
00:38:08Just like that
00:38:09Okay, so can I do that?
00:38:10Just literally just like that
00:38:10Can I do that? Okay, why did I not do this the whole time?
00:38:13I don't know, I just had this epiphany last night
00:38:16Back at the ranch, it's straight back in the saddle
00:38:20Squeeze with your feet, remember?
00:38:21Okay, yeah
00:38:22With the cattle drive days away, the Brits need to prove they can master their horses to play their part
00:38:29I know, I feel like a proper, like, equestrian
00:38:31Yes!
00:38:36And the cowgirl's no BS approach is rubbing off on their guests
00:38:41Keegan has been like the most dramatic change for me
00:38:44Now put your right hand down by his knee
00:38:46Yes!
00:38:47Keegan has just had a huge internal emotional shift
00:38:51And you can just tell that he's processed a lot of stuff
00:38:56Nice!
00:38:57That's it, Keegan
00:38:58Right there, now you've made him your bitch
00:39:02Look at him, his ears are forward, he's nice and happy
00:39:05Oh, that's so cool
00:39:06Can you believe when you started?
00:39:08I know, I believe the mood
00:39:09I know!
00:39:11Kyra, who was least confident around animals just a few days ago
00:39:15Is also making huge progress
00:39:17The confidence alone has made it so much easier
00:39:22They turned the light on or something
00:39:27Now they're happier
00:39:29They're really trying, they're not giving up
00:39:34So I'm just, like, really proud of you
00:39:37Your bad motivational speech
00:39:39Yeah!
00:39:40Yeah, well you're going to need it for the rest of the week, so
00:39:44No!
00:39:46It may be a world away from his polo matches
00:39:48Good lads!
00:39:51There we go!
00:39:52But Miles' horse skills will be invaluable on the cattle drive
00:39:56If he can ride as part of the team
00:40:00So, Katie, you went to the auction, right?
00:40:02Yeah, we did
00:40:03How did that go?
00:40:05Well, we have a lot of work to do with Miles, to be perfectly honest
00:40:08Miles is just the one who is, like, the least receptive to, like, what he needs to be doing here
00:40:14When it comes to the thing that's actually important, like, being there when you need him and just waiting there
00:40:20Now I need you to be an integral part of the team
00:40:23Like, now it's time for you to show up and get the work done
00:40:26I feel like we're a little bit babied here
00:40:30Because, obviously, we have to be told what to do
00:40:34And I'm happy to crack on with it and show them that we're capable
00:40:38But I like to be independent
00:40:41Miles did a great job in the chicken coop
00:40:44So there's a lot of potential there, I think that he will step up
00:40:48Well, I do know I've got a lot of irrigation stuff going on
00:40:51And I can absolutely use him to his fullest
00:40:56Like, I think we're just going to need a little bit of, like, humility
00:40:59We've got plenty of that to go around in the irrigation, let me tell you
00:41:12The ranch's mammoth irrigation system waters their essential crops
00:41:17And it requires constant hands-on maintenance
00:41:20You look down the line, do you see how there's that huge bow?
00:41:24You see how it's curved to the left?
00:41:27Yeah, yeah
00:41:27So we've got to pull that curve into the middle
00:41:31Our water system is probably one of our worst nightmares
00:41:35Because we have to pump water about seven miles throughout the ranch
00:41:38To work effectively, the whole length of the pipe needs to be straight
00:41:42So everyone has to do their bit
00:41:44You guys ready? So we're going to pick up
00:41:47Three
00:41:47Three
00:41:48Oh my god, that is...
00:41:50He said it was light
00:41:51Pick up and walk back
00:41:54Pick up and walk back
00:41:59And while some of the team are playing their part, Miles has concerns
00:42:04I think I'm going to hurt my back
00:42:06No you won't, pick it up
00:42:07If I get all the way down here and get back to where you're at
00:42:11There's going to be a problem
00:42:13The whining has been, I think, the number one thing for me
00:42:16Um, that has been killing my brain
00:42:19I'm quite strong, this is not moving
00:42:21But you're all into it, you're not going to break something
00:42:24I promise you, you're not going to break anything
00:42:26Tucker is just a year older than Miles
00:42:29But he's led a very different life
00:42:31Tucker's role is like this
00:42:33Tucker! We need help!
00:42:38It doesn't matter what it is
00:42:39Because he's such a great kid
00:42:41And he's trying to help everybody
00:42:43And he wants to make sure everyone's taken care of
00:42:45If you guys understand the, you know, the urgency I have when I'm moving these things
00:42:50It would help if you guys could at least reciprocate that
00:42:55There's trying and then there's a fail
00:42:58After the water system is lined up, it needs to be staked securely into place
00:43:03You just gotta keep pounding it down until it sticks
00:43:06Oh my god, it's really heavy
00:43:08It's heavy
00:43:09I don't want rust poisoning
00:43:12You can tell that Miles is very capable to do a lot of the things that you ask him
00:43:16But he's grown up in a life where he's always been able to have someone else do the things that
00:43:21he doesn't want to do
00:43:22Yeah?
00:43:23Yeah, right there
00:43:24And that only gets you so far in life
00:43:30Back home, Miles doesn't study just for the grades
00:43:34My parents are very good with reward-based work
00:43:37So like, for my GCSEs, I got a new designer bag, a Louis Vuitton my first
00:43:43And then I got a pair of Balenciagas, I got an Xbox
00:43:45And this is only because I did so well
00:43:48But here, when a job doesn't end with instant gratification
00:43:52Miles' work ethic seems to go missing
00:43:56You're not even breathing heavy after that, you're telling me you couldn't do the first one?
00:44:02You just showed that you can like, knock a lot of this stuff out, like easy, right?
00:44:07Yeah
00:44:07Like that one, and you weren't even breathing hard
00:44:10I am now
00:44:11When we were up there with everyone else, it was easier to kind of not do as much
00:44:17It would be awesome if you were just knocked it out
00:44:19She said I could have lunch after I did that
00:44:22Oh, so we need to have like a true motivation every time you complete something
00:44:26We could have that energy the whole way through
00:44:29And we could have been at lunch 45 minutes ago
00:44:31Yeah
00:44:34It would be really nice if Miles learned
00:44:37That everything is an immediate reward
00:44:39Not working anymore is an immediate reward
00:44:42Finishing the job is an immediate reward
00:44:44Please?
00:44:46Still to come
00:44:47Let's get it on
00:44:48The Brits are unleashed onto the Wild Plains
00:44:51I feel like I've jumped straight into like a Wild West movie
00:44:54And left to fend for themselves
00:44:57How does it like, become a turn there?
00:44:59But this American dream
00:45:01Fuck!
00:45:02Broken rain!
00:45:04Turns into a nightmare
00:45:06No, I'm not fucking doing it!
00:45:14It's a new dawn at the ranch
00:45:16Well done
00:45:17You keep falling on the box
00:45:19Watch out
00:45:23These chickens are crazy
00:45:26Tomorrow the three new recruits take on the exhausting all-day cattle drive
00:45:32So they need to be fighting fit
00:45:33I feel so sick
00:45:36I've got a sore throat
00:45:38My nose is running
00:45:39I didn't think I was going to do this this morning
00:45:41Because I woke up really sick
00:45:44Like I'm not feeling too great
00:45:45But I said, you know what?
00:45:46I have to
00:45:47Because, you know, they need to eat
00:45:49Just get the bubble thing
00:45:52Keegan's growing confidence means he's actually volunteered to help Kyra out
00:45:56Back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back, back
00:45:58Why are they not listening?
00:46:00Yeah!
00:46:02Guys, please
00:46:06There's shit on my leg
00:46:09There's shit on my leg
00:46:10A stench is like
00:46:12Oh my god, that's right
00:46:15But all the focus on Keegan's feet means they've taken their eye off the ball
00:46:20Are those girls meant to be that on the run out there?
00:46:24You're going to have to catch them
00:46:26Teamwork!
00:46:26Okay, okay
00:46:31Joel, they're so proud
00:46:34Nah, this is going to be impossible
00:46:37I know what we do
00:46:38What?
00:46:40We fill up the thing with the grass
00:46:42And we pull it, like, somewhere
00:46:43And then they'll come to the thing
00:46:44And then we've got them
00:46:46Luckily, Kyra's been paying attention when it comes to goat management
00:46:51What is that?
00:46:52What is that?
00:46:54What is that?
00:46:54What is that?
00:46:55Including the health and safety rules
00:46:56You took his milk
00:46:58Keegan, this is not hygienic
00:47:00What is it?
00:47:02Is it hay?
00:47:03It's like, it's the urchin, got a farm version
00:47:06No, you need to get a sock on the...
00:47:09But just as the kid goats are returned to the pen
00:47:11No!
00:47:13No, no, no
00:47:13Oh my gosh, the goat escaped
00:47:17Even with Kyra sick and Keegan down to one sock
00:47:20The pair don't let up
00:47:22Please, just make it easy for me, please
00:47:24It's kind of crazy because I would never have thought
00:47:27I'd be feeding goats, picking up shit
00:47:31You got it?
00:47:34It just shows you that your environment can change who you are
00:47:37Come on, please
00:47:38I definitely thought it had a big impact on me
00:47:41Oh my God
00:47:42There's more to life than just doing the bare minimum
00:47:46No!
00:47:48Are there any household chores you do at home?
00:47:54Realising that the bare minimum is what Kyra and Keegan have been doing at home
00:47:59You know how to crack an egg?
00:48:00Like that
00:48:02Kirsten is determined that neither of them will leave the ranch without mastering some basic life skills
00:48:07It's not that hard
00:48:08Oh!
00:48:09Or you could come back
00:48:10I'm so sorry!
00:48:11Nope, you're good
00:48:12I find it very concerning that they don't have some of the basic skills that they need
00:48:16Scramble it up, so stir it up and break those yolks
00:48:20If these were my children, I would push them out of the house and make them fend for themselves
00:48:26You have to turn that knob
00:48:28I feel that mustache
00:48:31My kids have really known the value of hard work from a young age
00:48:34If you don't do the work, no one else will
00:48:38Do you contribute at home?
00:48:40Well, my mum's love language is like acts of service
00:48:44So it's like if I go to wash a plate, she'll want to wash the plate, not me
00:48:50What's your love language for your mum?
00:48:54I don't know
00:48:57You find what you can do to serve her
00:49:01I will
00:49:03I mean, I know that it is a bit bad that at 20 years old I don't really do much
00:49:07I think her words of encouragement then, you know what, I actually need to grow up a bit
00:49:12I do want my mum to feel like I'm there to help her and feel like I'm giving something in
00:49:18return
00:49:19Yeah, I bless him
00:49:20Does it give it?
00:49:23Bless him
00:49:25It's just kind of like a kick of reality, it's just more so like realisation that I need to get
00:49:30my shit together
00:49:33You guys ready?
00:49:35Yeah
00:49:37Now the Brits have got to grips with their horses
00:49:40Let's get it on
00:49:42Tucker wants to give them their first real taste of the wild Wyoming plains, ahead of the big cattle drive
00:49:50Okay you guys, so I want you to go exactly where I'm going to go, okay?
00:49:59As well as a long stint in the saddle, he's testing their self-sufficiency by making them spend a night
00:50:05under canvas
00:50:11This is so gorge
00:50:19The sights are beautiful, the landscape is gorge
00:50:26I feel like I've jumped straight into like a Wild West movie
00:50:31Oh that is such a nice view, oh my god
00:50:35I need a picture
00:50:37People who know me would never believe that I would be here, doing this shit like, it's actually crazy to
00:50:42me
00:50:42It's a lot that I'm doing, never done before
00:50:46But even the most experienced cowgirls horses can get spooked without warning
00:50:52Broken rain
00:50:56Don't scream
00:50:59Don't scream
00:51:01No, I'm not fucking doing it
00:51:04Stop
00:51:04That's right Kyra
00:51:06No, what the fuck
00:51:10You did a great job there
00:51:13Alright
00:51:14Yeah, did you see how you stayed on the whole time?
00:51:21Did you see how he's trying to go and he didn't go anywhere?
00:51:23Even though he was still moving out from under you?
00:51:27But you didn't let anything else happen because you pulled him in and you did the one rain stop, right?
00:51:31You did it, okay?
00:51:36I'm actually shaking
00:51:38Don't worry
00:51:40Let's just keep sitting here
00:51:42We're not moving anytime soon
00:51:51The cowboys give Kyra the option to return to the ranch, a choice she'd have jumped at earlier in the
00:51:58week
00:52:02It's fine
00:52:09It really scared me, like I just had a bit of a cry
00:52:12Because I was just scared, like I was shaking, like it was so unexpected
00:52:17But my mental strength is a lot stronger
00:52:22After another hour of trekking, everyone makes it to where they'll be bedding down for the night
00:52:27Alright guys, so we all made it, at least, and everyone's still intact
00:52:31So I guess it's time, we can all get off our horses and let's start unpacking everything
00:52:36Kyra, you actually ate that though, because that was, it was intense
00:52:39You've never been in that position before, and you handled it
00:52:42I'll do feel proud of myself
00:52:43You should
00:52:45Keep calm and carry on
00:52:49Hey, so when I get this tent off, I'm gonna hand it to you guys
00:52:52So we have to make the tent
00:52:53You gotta make the tent
00:52:54If you wanna sleep in the tent, you gotta make the tent
00:52:57Out in the wilderness, you only have your companions to rely on
00:53:01How does it, like, become a tent?
00:53:04Oh, that must be for the floor, because it's waterproof
00:53:10The thought of camping brings up trauma
00:53:13My aunties, they love going outdoors, and I went camping with them
00:53:18I did threaten to call the child line when my aunties didn't wanna take me home
00:53:26Which I don't think they found very funny
00:53:29Despite his reluctance, on this occasion, Myles steps up for the team
00:53:36Guys, you wanna come in and help?
00:53:49Luckily, Tucker is on hand to finish the job
00:53:53I struggle to see how people think this is fun
00:53:56Doing something yourself, I think
00:53:59I think that's what fills me with joy, is being able to do all this
00:54:02It's taken three times longer than needed, but the tent is up
00:54:06Beautiful!
00:54:08Meanwhile
00:54:10Kyra's sickness has taken hold
00:54:12I actually think you need to go home, you look so poorly
00:54:15So, she's heading back to the ranch
00:54:17Can you think about me when you're in a nice warm bed?
00:54:20Like, pray for me
00:54:24It's not gonna stop us
00:54:25Hegan and I are gonna crack on, aren't we?
00:54:28And Myles' team spirit continues
00:54:30I want to do cooking for everyone, and get everything ready
00:54:33I just want everyone to have a nice warm meal
00:54:38With the campfire blazing, there's finally time to talk
00:54:42And it turns out Wild West-raised Tucker
00:54:45Isn't so different from the Brits after all
00:54:49Earlier in my life, I've definitely lived
00:54:51I was very privileged
00:54:53Like, just with my upbringing
00:54:55All the way up through high school
00:54:57Hung out with my friends
00:54:59And the ranch was kind of just an afterthought, honestly
00:55:01After school, Tucker drifted
00:55:04Until his family asked for his help
00:55:06That's when he began learning the skills that shaped the rancher he is today
00:55:11The last four years of me growing and getting to this point
00:55:15Of even where I could take you guys out here to do all this
00:55:17Was four years of really hard, long work and failure
00:55:23It was pretty, pretty horrific
00:55:26But I wouldn't trade it for anything to get to this point
00:55:29Hard to even describe how clueless I was
00:55:32So, I think that I would be a great example to just prove that you can not know anything
00:55:38You can be clueless, but as long as you're interested in learning
00:55:41Or at least interested in doing your best
00:55:43You're going to succeed just doing it, succeeding, completing the task
00:55:48At home, I would have never got stuck into the stuff here that I've been getting stuck into
00:55:52But I think, like, honestly, hearing how passionate all of you are
00:55:56Seeing, like, how happy it makes you to know that you guys can accomplish anything you put your minds to
00:56:01I think it's definitely stuck with me, and I think it definitely will stick with me
00:56:06Miles, are you still, are you surprised with yourself, you're still here?
00:56:09Um, I didn't think any of us would be here, to be honest
00:56:13I think my parents are going to be gobsmacked that I've done this
00:56:16Well, they're going to be proud of you
00:56:18Yeah, they're going to be proud of you
00:56:20Still to come
00:56:22The nightmare begins
00:56:24Using everything they have learnt
00:56:27The Brits face eight miles of pain
00:56:31Your horse, it wants to die as little as you do
00:56:33As long as you can stay on the horse, you're probably going to survive
00:56:42Hey guys
00:56:44Get the bubble
00:56:46The Brits have now been at the ranch for five days
00:56:50Water's done, feed's done, eggs are collected
00:56:53And the bath's been changed
00:56:55All three have made progress
00:56:58I actually did it
00:57:02Wow
00:57:03Their systems have been totally shocked, right?
00:57:06So nothing's phasing them
00:57:08Not even when faced with milking the goats
00:57:10Is it a girl?
00:57:12Yeah, it is a girl
00:57:13Yeah, you only get milk from girls
00:57:16So Miles, your job is to get the goat onto the platform
00:57:22Their tolerance level for just new stuff every day
00:57:25And being challenged
00:57:26Now they're used to the challenge
00:57:29Good job, yes
00:57:30Get her head to...
00:57:32Yes, Miles, perfect
00:57:36Now comes the moment of truth
00:57:38Have the three Brits gained the skills and staying power needed to survive the cattle drive?
00:57:48This is the big test, this is what we've been training all week for, is this exact moment
00:57:54I think they've come a long way, but I don't think they've come far enough to be able to handle
00:58:00this
00:58:01Going through and moving around 200 cows is a big ordeal, so
00:58:07I actually really have found horse riding really very pretty
00:58:10But then...
00:58:12The nightmare begins
00:58:13The nightmare literally fucking begins
00:58:16Obviously we're going there for the purpose of the cattle
00:58:19And that's the help that they were asking from us
00:58:22So I'm just going to have to do it
00:58:23I'm going to try my best
00:58:25I'm doing it because I love the family and I want to help them
00:58:32To get the herd home safely, the Brits will need to draw on everything they've learned over the past week
00:58:39It's so easy for things to go the wrong way
00:58:43And that's why it's a very high risk situation
00:58:46Because when things go wrong, it's really detrimental to the herd
00:58:50In this field is half a million dollars worth of cattle
00:58:54Rushed too quickly, the cattle burn energy, lose weight, and with it thousands of dollars of value
00:59:00A cow can lose up to 13 pounds in an hour if they walk too fast
00:59:07And you're trying to put weight on your cattle because that's how you're going to get paid
00:59:13If you put a lot of pressure on them, they're going to run and they're going to scatter
00:59:17They're not going to go where you want them to go
00:59:20Livestock is not just valuable
00:59:22Cattle are notoriously dangerous
00:59:24In the US alone, they kill an average of two people every month
00:59:29You can get a really bad bull that's super aggressive and they will absolutely chase you down and try to
00:59:35kill you
00:59:36Luckily, Tucker has some last-minute reassurance
00:59:40Here's the one thing I always say that I hope helps calm people
00:59:44Your horse, it wants to die as little as you do
00:59:47Ultimately, as long as you can stay on the horse, you're probably going to survive
00:59:52This is Rudy Scarborough
00:59:54The Brits will now have to hold their nerve to drive the cattle home over a grueling eight-mile journey
01:00:00Okay, now let's just wait a second and then we'll move them together as a pack
01:00:04They will need to remember all their lessons in resilience, patience, and teamwork to succeed
01:00:10This is going to be the biggest moment for you guys
01:00:13There's a heavy emphasis on having a good team when you're moving cows
01:00:17Because there's so many things that are unforeseen
01:00:20We just need to make sure we're pushing them all but very gently, not doing too much
01:00:26Classy demure
01:00:29This cattle drive is relying on experienced rider Miles to do his share
01:00:34He's getting so excited with the cows
01:00:37Come on
01:00:39Come on down
01:00:45Two miles in and the cows need to pass a narrow gap in the creek
01:00:50And this is where it comes in having patience and taking your time because you can't force them across that
01:00:55creek
01:00:56Just be standing here to make sure they're not coming back this way
01:01:03The cows at the back are bunching up and starting to panic
01:01:07Up, up, up, up
01:01:09There's some stragglers
01:01:11And it's up to Miles to bring them back into the herd
01:01:15Clint, good job
01:01:21With the herd reunited, the team can continue to pass through the creek
01:01:27Have you guys ever seen something like this before?
01:01:30Absolutely not
01:01:35They push on
01:01:40With Tucker directing
01:01:42If you want to just get those stragglers back there, you're going to come in and get behind the main
01:01:47herd
01:01:48Keegan and Kyra are driving the herd
01:01:51It's just a real thing, man
01:01:52Mad shit that we never thought we'd be doing
01:01:55You got one to the right
01:01:57While Miles works with Tori to pick up the stragglers
01:02:01Good job, hold back
01:02:03This is like proper cowboy stuff
01:02:05He he he he
01:02:13All three bricks have played their part
01:02:16And the cattle drive can now continue across six more miles of Wyoming Plains
01:02:22That's something I'm definitely going to take that I just need to sometimes adapt to succeed
01:02:29It's a little deep in here
01:02:32You'll be okay
01:02:33Just trust your horse
01:02:37They have not only crossed some creek crossings that I was very hesitant on whether or not they should cross
01:02:44And they really have been blowing me away today
01:02:50Doing this and just pushing myself and hearing everyone be so encouraging and so loving afterwards
01:02:58It's just been the best feeling
01:02:59Honestly, I really just feel like I can do anything now
01:03:02You guys have been killing it on your creek crossings
01:03:05I know we have
01:03:08Teamwork and helping everyone out just to get it done
01:03:11And no matter how you feel, no matter what's going on, just do it
01:03:15And not make excuses of hope
01:03:17Not walk off, not cry, not for a fit
01:03:19Just get it done
01:03:21How do you guys feel moving those cows on your own?
01:03:24Like literally on your own?
01:03:25It's so cool
01:03:26I've been on such a high this week from just doing things that I would have never have done
01:03:31And just achieving success
01:03:33Feeling so proud of myself
01:03:35I definitely want to keep that high
01:03:40The job is officially done
01:03:43I think that you guys have absolutely knocked it out of the ballpark
01:03:47I think it's pretty fair to say
01:03:49You guys might be cowboys and cowgirls
01:03:51Yeah
01:03:52Now you can proudly wear your cowboy hats
01:03:55Yeah
01:03:55Thank you guys
01:04:00Miles definitely did well today
01:04:02I think that
01:04:03He showed himself that he's capable of a lot more if he's just willing to try
01:04:11Are you guys excited to be back?
01:04:13Oh yeah
01:04:14Oh yeah
01:04:15Thank you
01:04:17I do feel like I saw a transformation
01:04:20And I felt like they really buckled down and tried really hard
01:04:25I felt like a full-on cowboy today
01:04:29My mental strength is a lot stronger than I thought it would
01:04:33I feel like my resilience is through the roof right now
01:04:36Like it's up here
01:04:38After their week-long baptism of fire on a wild west ranch
01:04:42It's finally time for the Brits to head home
01:04:45Those are muscles only developed by pounding in T-posts
01:04:48These guys have come very far from the very start of the week
01:04:52I do think that they have started embodying kind of the essence and the spirit as to what it means
01:04:58to be out here
01:04:59I think the family have really taught us a lot about hard work, patience and independence
01:05:05So when I go home I'm going to be a lot more appreciative
01:05:10It feels very rewarding
01:05:12When you have a responsibility it gives you a purpose
01:05:14And it gives you like you know reasons to like actually go 100% in and just do your best
01:05:19You killed it
01:05:21It might be a bit dramatic but I would definitely say it has changed me for the rest of my
01:05:24life to be honest
01:05:25I can't wait to see how I use everything I've done in the ranch in real life back at home
01:05:30The Brits has definitely like really seriously had an impact on me like very emotionally
01:05:36You just really embraced me and like made me feel so like supported and loved and I'm so appreciative of
01:05:44that
01:05:45You know where we're at
01:05:47I think Keegan absolutely has the makings to be a cowboy
01:05:51I think he's gonna do it like with lip gloss on
01:05:56100% I'm cowboy blooded through and through
01:05:59I am a cowboy to the bone
01:06:02I am a cowboy to the bone
01:06:06I am a cowboy to build it with my three times
01:06:09But I have never figured I would not be a cowboy in my body
01:06:14But I'm very careful
01:06:17Even if you only have a cowboy
01:06:17Or you can lean on a cowboy
01:06:17You can lean on a cowboy
01:06:18At the same time
01:06:22To be careful
