00:00Hello Friday, Friday edition of Shine Time.
00:02The only thing better than the NFL Schedule Release Day
00:06is the NFL Schedule Release Reaction Day.
00:10We're all over it.
00:12Shine Time starts right now.
00:20Ah yes, you know what I love?
00:23Hate.
00:24Look at the back page of the New York Post.
00:26Fight night with the Yankees and the Mets.
00:30How about the back page of the California Post?
00:33The fight to ultimately play in the Super Bowl in Los Angeles begins today.
00:39Oh baby, I'm so fired up.
00:42This is my favorite show of the year
00:45when it comes to analyzing everything from the NFL Schedule.
00:49I am always obsessed.
00:51I can't get enough.
00:52And look, there are things that we love,
00:55things where we kind of question.
00:57That's the beauty of the NFL when it comes to announcing the schedule.
01:01And I'll tell you, the NFL Schedule Week number one is a banger.
01:07Right after the opener, which I don't like at all
01:10because I didn't watch that nondescript Super Bowl and think,
01:14Okay, I need a fifth quarter of New England and Seattle.
01:19This is a terrific, terrific slate.
01:24Look at the game with the Rams and the 49ers.
01:28That is going to be amazing in Melbourne.
01:30I talked to Ani Bose, who is the NFL VP of Broadcasting on my SiriusXM radio show today.
01:36He said that Hans Schroeder, who's one of the three with Mike North and Ani,
01:41who put the schedule together,
01:42he was obsessed with the Chicago Bears taking on the Carolina Panthers
01:46with regards to Bryce Young, Caleb Williams,
01:49and everything that happened there and the trade and that whole scenario,
01:54which is unbelievable.
01:55You know, in the past, I think the NFL,
01:57and I've talked to Mike North and Ani Bose about this,
02:00you know, week one was week one.
02:02It was football.
02:03Yay.
02:03Not anymore.
02:04They put together a slate that is unbelievable
02:08with games with storylines and unbelievable division matchups.
02:13When you look at the Giants and the Cowboys and the Vikings
02:16and, of course, the Minutes, the Green Bay Packers
02:19and Philadelphia and Washington.
02:21And you take a look at the sizzle with the Robert Solid Ball
02:25with the Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets.
02:29And if you remember when the Colts left Baltimore,
02:32you have Baltimore going to Indianapolis
02:34and, you know, Houston with their incredible defense,
02:38taking on the Buffalo Bills, which is amazing.
02:41And you know I live for Josh Allen.
02:43Buffalo has had a kryptonite.
02:45Josh Allen has had a kryptonite against the Houston Texans
02:48and that unbelievable defense,
02:50which could be the best defense in the NFL this year.
02:53And you have Cincinnati and Tampa, which is intriguing.
02:56So, after you get past that opener,
02:59which to me was not what I was looking for,
03:03I think this is a phenomenal job by the NFL
03:06in terms of a banger of a schedule.
03:08In the past, they would give you games that were just football.
03:12But now you have Fox and CBS both in that doubleheader window.
03:16I think that's great.
03:17Monster games for both broadcast groups.
03:20For the Sunday slate, the afternoon slate,
03:22with Fox and CBS both getting that doubleheader
03:25and the amazing games at 425.
03:27You're going to have the Vikings and the Packers on CBS.
03:29You're going to have Washington and Philadelphia on Fox.
03:33So, this is amazing in terms of the way the NFL,
03:37smartly, rightly, hits you over the head
03:40with unbelievable games to start the season.
03:43It's not, well, football's back.
03:45I need you to watch.
03:47It's we're giving you reasons to get excited
03:50and build the excitement.
03:52Fans, people like me in the media, social media,
03:55everyone's going to be foaming at the mouth,
03:57and honestly, I can't get enough.
03:59I'll tell you, this is the time of year
04:02where you start giving predictions.
04:04And you would have to be an absolute moron
04:07to give predictions this early,
04:10right after the schedule is released.
04:12In a related story, we're going to do just that.
04:15The New England Patriots are not making the playoffs.
04:19And I thought this was the case
04:21before the schedule was released,
04:22and I think it even more now.
04:25I want you to take a look
04:27at the start of the New England Patriots schedule.
04:32This is, historically, the toughest start to a schedule
04:38on strength of schedule, literally,
04:41there are stats and facts and figures on this,
04:44in 40 years.
04:46Sometimes strength of schedule can be overrated.
04:49Other times, it is fairly rated.
04:51Hardest quarter of a season to start,
04:54strength of schedule in 40 years,
04:56opposition's winning percentage is 721.
05:01You look at that Patriots schedule,
05:03it is a murderer's row.
05:07Murderer's row in terms of who, ultimately,
05:10the New England Patriots are going to play.
05:12So I'm telling you right here, right now,
05:14and I know A.J. Brown is going to be on the team.
05:16We're not being naive.
05:17That will happen on June 1st
05:19for cap ramifications for,
05:21and implications for the Philadelphia Eagles.
05:23The New England Patriots are not making the playoffs
05:27this season.
05:28That is my first bold prediction.
05:30I know they made the Super Bowl last year.
05:32I don't care.
05:34How about what the league did
05:35in terms of primetime games,
05:37where you have the L.A. Rams leading the way,
05:40and rightly so,
05:41when you take a look at Los Angeles,
05:43and they have the most primetime games with seven,
05:46and it's the Rams, it's Sean McVay,
05:49it's Matthew Stafford,
05:50it's the number two market,
05:51you've got the Super Bowl in so far,
05:53you've got the Rams in so far,
05:55you've got Puka Nakua, Devontae Adams.
05:57This is unbelievable.
05:58I honestly can't get enough,
06:00and the Rams earned it.
06:02And then you have Seattle
06:04having all these incredible primetime games
06:08and standalone games,
06:10and how about the Seahawks and the Rams,
06:13the fact that they are going to play twice
06:16in the final two weeks of the season.
06:19And how about this quirk,
06:20which I love,
06:21and this was not an accident here,
06:23where you're going to have Sam Darnold
06:25and Jackson Smith and Jigba
06:26and Mike McDonald's team
06:27in those seven standalone games?
06:30Five.
06:32Five of them are going to be at home
06:35in the great Northwest,
06:37which is what you want
06:38because that fan base is unbelievable,
06:40the crowd is unbelievable.
06:43So having that kind of scenic mentality
06:46from a programming perspective
06:48is unbelievable.
06:50The Rams and Seahawks
06:52are two of the best teams in the NFL,
06:54and honestly, I can't get enough here.
06:57And how about the fact,
06:58as we talk about teams
06:59atop the primetime schedule,
07:01how about the teams
07:02that have zero primetime games?
07:05And this is a change, right?
07:07The NFL used to put every team,
07:09give them one game in primetime.
07:11I like this more.
07:13I like this better
07:14because, frankly, you have to earn it.
07:17Nobody likes bad football,
07:19especially with the saturation,
07:21oversaturation Thursday night,
07:22Sunday night, Monday night,
07:23all day Sunday.
07:25Then you have Thanksgiving,
07:26Thanksgiving Eve, Black Friday,
07:28Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve,
07:29Christmas Day.
07:31You can't, Saturday games in December,
07:34you can't have nondescript teams.
07:36You can't have zeroes on national TV.
07:40Sometimes you get bad teams,
07:41you get injuries,
07:42things happen you can't predict.
07:43But you can predict.
07:45Look at that graphic one more time.
07:47When it comes to these five teams,
07:49you expect that Tennessee
07:51is going to be bad.
07:53If you look at the Cardinals schedule,
07:54and I love the love draft pick,
07:56you can't find wins.
07:58The Miami Dolphins are doing
08:00the right thing in terms of
08:01breaking it down to build it back up,
08:03but I don't want to see them
08:05in a window of exclusivity.
08:06And the league nailed it.
08:08And then, of course,
08:09you have the Jets and the Raiders.
08:10I want to focus on the Raiders
08:12for a second,
08:12because I talked to Ani Bost
08:14about this on my SiriusXM
08:16radio show today.
08:17And he said there were some
08:20versions of the schedule
08:21where the Raiders were in prime time.
08:23And if you asked me yesterday,
08:25I would have guessed
08:26that the Raiders would get
08:27a couple of games
08:29under the lights
08:30in a window of exclusivity.
08:32And I think the Raiders
08:34are going to be
08:35a really good football team
08:37this year.
08:38Vegas, not the Vegas Raiders,
08:41lost Vegas in terms
08:42of the gambling sites.
08:43They don't agree with me.
08:45They've got the over-under
08:46for the Raiders
08:47at five and a half.
08:48Look at this schedule here.
08:49It's not easy.
08:51The other problem is, right,
08:54and I love the stepbrothers,
08:56what they did with Cousins
08:57and Mendoza on social media.
08:59The problem is Kirk Cousins,
09:01because it's an easy sell,
09:03in my opinion,
09:04if you have Fernando Mendoza
09:06and the Vegas Raiders
09:07under the lights.
09:08You can sell that to anyone
09:10and any team at any time
09:12and any network, right?
09:14Put it on Monday night football
09:15against the Chargers.
09:16Put them on Sunday night football
09:18against the Chiefs.
09:19I think they could play
09:20with the Broncos.
09:21I mean, you could find
09:22prime time games
09:23on that schedule.
09:24Look, sake of fairness,
09:26and I think the league
09:27is doing a really smart thing here.
09:29I think that the Raiders
09:31need to earn it.
09:31You could always get flexed in
09:33towards the end of the season,
09:34and I do think the Raiders
09:36will be a candidate for that
09:37because I think they're going
09:39to be in the mix
09:40for eight wins.
09:41But I was a little surprised,
09:43but I can't argue it, right?
09:45Now, look, Max Crosby,
09:47that defense.
09:48You look at Ashton Gentty,
09:50who I think is going to have
09:50a phenomenal year.
09:51Brock Powers,
09:52my opinion,
09:53best tight end
09:54in the National Football League,
09:56and you put in Fernando Mendoza,
09:58honestly, I think that
10:00it's a team that people
10:01are going to want to see.
10:02But when Clint Kubiak said
10:04that Kirk Cousins
10:05is likely going to be the starter,
10:06and he didn't believe
10:07in starting the rookie quarterback
10:09in the beginning of the season,
10:10I think that kind of hurts
10:13the Raiders in terms
10:14of being in prime time.
10:15Look, if I'm a Raider fan,
10:16I'm annoyed,
10:17but it's not, you know,
10:18the league hates the Raiders
10:19or any of that garbage
10:20and nonsense from prior years.
10:22So that was the one
10:23that surprised me.
10:25I think the league
10:26nailed it on the Jets,
10:27and I love the direction
10:29for the Jets.
10:30I think they've had
10:31a really strong offseason,
10:34but you can't put the Jets
10:36under the lights.
10:37And I like Geno Smith
10:39and Brees Hall got the contract
10:40and Garrett Wilson,
10:41and they cleaned up in the draft
10:43and dominated the first round.
10:45I mean, look at the schedule.
10:48There's not one of these games
10:49where you say,
10:50that's what I need.
10:52Right?
10:52And we've seen duds
10:54from the Jets,
10:54embarrassments from the Jets
10:56on national TV
10:57against New England.
10:59You know,
10:59Mark Sanchez runs
11:00into Brandon Moore's ass.
11:02It's the butt fumble.
11:03It's atrocious,
11:04terrible football,
11:06just awful offense.
11:07And the league wants to see it.
11:10I mean,
11:10that's how it works.
11:12So I have no issue
11:14in terms of the Jets
11:16not getting prime time games.
11:18By the way,
11:19go back to the Jets schedule
11:20for a second.
11:21I think the Jets,
11:23when you look at this schedule,
11:25have a golden opportunity
11:27to start 2-0.
11:29I'm just telling you right now.
11:30I think they could win
11:32the Robert Sala Ball,
11:33and I think,
11:34and there's a real shot
11:36Micah Parsons doesn't play
11:37in that game,
11:38I think Aaron Glenn,
11:39who's coached against
11:40Jordan Love in the past,
11:42I think without question
11:43the Jets could win that game.
11:45That'll be the home opener.
11:46The vibes,
11:47especially if they come off a win,
11:49should be high.
11:51I think the Jets can win that game.
11:53I really do.
11:54And when you look at the rest
11:56of the Jets' schedule,
11:57I see at least six wins.
12:01Look at that schedule here.
12:02I think they could absolutely
12:04beat Cleveland.
12:05I think they could absolutely
12:06win one or two against Miami.
12:08I think they could absolutely
12:10take a home game
12:11against the Raiders.
12:12I think they can absolutely
12:14win against Arizona.
12:16And you do the math on that,
12:18that's six.
12:19And if the Jets win six games
12:22and they're buttoned up
12:23and buckled up,
12:24yeah, I think Aaron Glenn
12:25is going to keep his job.
12:27And look, I'm rooting for that.
12:29And I love the Glenn hire,
12:31and last year I was dead wrong.
12:32Without question,
12:33I was absolutely dead wrong on that.
12:36Aaron Glenn needs to prove
12:37he can coach.
12:38I think the schedule sets up nicely
12:40for him to do just that.
12:41So I agree with how the NFL
12:44handled the five teams
12:45without the primetime games
12:46because nothing drives sports fans,
12:49NFL fans more batty
12:50than when you're watching
12:51all this football
12:52and then you see a game
12:54that's just nondescript
12:55and you're not watching.
12:56You're not turning on the TV for it.
12:58And it's just,
12:59I put you to sleep and it's dull.
13:01So you can always get flexed in,
13:03but it goes noted
13:04that there were five teams
13:05that they didn't give
13:06a participation trophy to
13:08in terms of having a primetime game.
13:11Ho, ho, ho.
13:14Merry Christmas.
13:16Santa Goodell has delivered a present.
13:20Are you kidding me?
13:22The Christmas schedule
13:24for the NFL
13:25is an absolute banger.
13:28First of all,
13:29Chicago and Green Bay,
13:31as great as it gets as a rivalry.
13:34I mean, that is just off the charts
13:36and both these teams
13:37should be fighting with each other
13:38and in the mix
13:39for everything this year.
13:40And then you see Seattle and L.A.
13:43And remember,
13:44that's going to be
13:45the first matchup of the year
13:47between these two teams.
13:49They're going to meet twice,
13:50obviously, same division.
13:51Once for the first time
13:53in week 16,
13:54this game on Christmas,
13:55and then week 18.
13:57So talking to Ani Bose today
13:58on my SiriusXM radio show,
14:00he said those two were obvious
14:02with Green Bay and Chicago
14:04and the Rams and Seattle.
14:07And then they kind of went
14:08round and round for a minute
14:09on the next game,
14:10and it's Buffalo and Denver.
14:13I mean, are you kidding me?
14:14On the heels of that playoff game
14:15from last year,
14:16that is sweet.
14:17That is sexy.
14:19That is going to be unbelievable.
14:21Josh Allen in Denver,
14:23by the way,
14:24never forget,
14:25John Elway said
14:26the biggest regret he ever had
14:27was not drafting Josh Allen.
14:29It took Bradley Chubb.
14:30You know,
14:30he pinned it on the coaches
14:31who didn't really want
14:32Josh Allen,
14:33but that's a mistake,
14:34obviously,
14:35everyone remembers.
14:36And Brandon Cooks caught it.
14:37Let's be crystal clear
14:38about that.
14:38You know,
14:39the Denver Broncos
14:40were lucky to win that game.
14:42Buffalo,
14:42a lot of self-induced mistakes.
14:44They returned to the scene
14:45of the crime.
14:45Sean McDermott obviously fired.
14:47So I think
14:48that's a pretty cool thing.
14:49And by the way,
14:51how about Christmas Eve
14:52in Philly
14:53with the Texans
14:55and the Philadelphia Eagles?
14:57That's not going to be
14:58my Super Bowl pick,
14:59but that's almost
15:00an under-the-radar,
15:01you know,
15:01you're almost going to frame it
15:02on Shine Time that week.
15:03That could be
15:04a Super Bowl matchup.
15:05So that's pretty amazing
15:07when you look at it
15:08with those four games
15:10on the holidays.
15:10And in talking to
15:11Ani Bose about it,
15:12why do they play on Christmas?
15:14Because they can.
15:15And their ratings
15:15are unbelievable.
15:16And the way people
15:17subscribe to Netflix
15:18and how they watch it,
15:19it's incredible.
15:21So I just can't get
15:22enough of that.
15:23I mean,
15:24what the NFL did
15:25with Christmas Eve
15:26and Christmas Day,
15:28unbelievable.
15:29We talked about
15:30the Thanksgiving schedule
15:31earlier in the week,
15:32and honestly,
15:33it's just incredible.
15:35And in talking to
15:36Ani Bose about that today,
15:37look,
15:38he made the point to me,
15:39which I love,
15:40this is the best night game
15:42they've ever had
15:43in the history
15:44of Thanksgiving football,
15:45where they've always
15:46had good games,
15:47right,
15:47with good quarterback matchups
15:49and a good rivalry game.
15:51It's Josh Allen
15:53and Patrick Mahomes.
15:54So it's going to be
15:55all day football
15:56and family and food
15:58with the Lions
15:59and the Bears
16:00and the Cowboys
16:01and the Eagles.
16:02And listen,
16:04I mean,
16:04those are historic
16:05rivalry games.
16:06They're tremendous
16:07division rivalry games.
16:09And then you're going
16:10to have the most
16:10anticipated game,
16:11the quarterback matchup
16:12that is dreamy
16:14and iconic.
16:14It's Manning versus Brady
16:15only on speed
16:16with Josh Allen
16:18and Patrick Mahomes.
16:19So that to me
16:20is absolutely incredible.
16:22That's going to be awesome.
16:23And he told me
16:23the Rams are thrilled
16:25that they have
16:26the Thanksgiving Eve game
16:28with the home game
16:30on Netflix
16:31going up against Green Bay.
16:33Look,
16:33that one always concerns me
16:35a bit because
16:35that's a big travel day.
16:37It's also a big
16:38social calendar
16:39Super Bowl day
16:40for some people
16:41who go back home
16:42no matter your age,
16:43maybe a college student,
16:44maybe in your 20s
16:44or 30s,
16:45go out with friends,
16:46maybe not necessarily
16:47going to watch football.
16:49But as Ani said,
16:50look,
16:50I travel every year
16:51the Wednesday
16:52before Thanksgiving.
16:53All right,
16:54watch it on the train
16:55or the plane
16:56or if you're a passenger
16:56in a car
16:57or take your phone
16:58to the bar
16:59or the bar will have it.
17:00I mean,
17:00this is the way it works.
17:02You're watching
17:02our show right now
17:03on YouTube,
17:04on your tablet,
17:05on your phone.
17:05So this is
17:07modern day technology
17:08and, you know,
17:09that's one
17:10I'm fascinated
17:11to see how it goes.
17:12But YOLO.
17:14And why does the NFL
17:15do it on Thanksgiving Eve?
17:17Because they can.
17:18All right.
17:19I gave you the prediction earlier.
17:21The Patriots
17:21will miss the playoffs.
17:23How about this one?
17:24The Chiefs
17:25will miss the playoffs.
17:27And I really
17:28don't like
17:29what the league did.
17:30And I said this
17:31to Ani Bose
17:31with Patrick Mahomes
17:34in primetime,
17:36the first two weeks
17:38of the season.
17:40Broncos,
17:42Colts.
17:42I don't even
17:44understand that.
17:45And he made the point
17:46to me that the Chiefs
17:47are still a team
17:48that everyone wants to see
17:49and the rehab for Mahomes
17:50is progressing nicely.
17:51You know,
17:52my words,
17:52you still have
17:53Taylor Swift,
17:54Travis Kelsey.
17:55They're getting married.
17:56I don't know if you know that,
17:57but it's true.
17:57And that's amazing.
17:58And the Swifties
17:59will watch.
18:00People want to see
18:01Kansas City.
18:02I got to tell you,
18:04I'm very concerned.
18:05I am very,
18:07very concerned here
18:08from a league perspective.
18:10I mean,
18:10that week two game
18:11could easily be,
18:13you know,
18:13depending upon health
18:14for Daniel Jones,
18:16that could be
18:16Riley Leonard
18:17going up against
18:18Justin Fields.
18:19Fright night.
18:20That's not what
18:21anyone wants to see.
18:22But take a look
18:24at the portion
18:24of the schedule,
18:26week 12
18:27through week 17.
18:28They have the Bills,
18:30the Rams,
18:32the Bengals.
18:33Let me just hit that.
18:34That's Josh Allen,
18:35Matthew Stafford,
18:37Joe Burrow.
18:38They have the Patriots,
18:40the 49ers,
18:41and they're at
18:42the Chargers.
18:43And the Raiders game
18:44is not going to be
18:45a cupcake.
18:46And the Falcons game
18:47won't be a cupcake.
18:48And by the way,
18:49even after the bye,
18:50when you take a look
18:51at week number six,
18:52Chargers at Seattle,
18:54the Broncos,
18:55these are really
18:56difficult games.
18:57And again,
18:59Patrick Mahomes
19:00tore up his knee
19:01in December.
19:03Modern medicine
19:04is amazing.
19:05Mahomes' drive
19:06is Jordan-esque.
19:07But I don't think
19:08you could bank on it.
19:09Look,
19:09I live for Andy Reid.
19:11I think he's
19:11a Mount Rushmore coach.
19:13I think you can make
19:13an easy case
19:14that Andy Reid
19:15is the second best coach
19:16in the history
19:16of the NFL
19:17behind Bill Belichick.
19:18Love what Brett Veach
19:20did to kind of
19:20retool the team.
19:21He brings in
19:22Kenneth Walker.
19:23But this team
19:25doesn't have
19:25the requisite dudes.
19:26I mean,
19:27I,
19:27and if Mahomes,
19:29and this is human nature,
19:30right?
19:31It's also
19:32the laws of medicine
19:34and I live for Patrick.
19:36Can you actually
19:36bank on Mahomes
19:38being Mahomes
19:38coming off of that injury?
19:40I can't.
19:41I won't.
19:42I refuse to.
19:43So,
19:44that to me
19:45was a weird calculation
19:46by the NFL
19:47with Mahomes
19:48early in the season.
19:49And I'm telling you
19:51right here,
19:51right now,
19:52I do not believe
19:54that the Kansas City Chiefs
19:56are making the playoffs.
19:57I would bet right now
19:58Chiefs to miss the playoffs.
20:00You can get that
20:00on DraftKings
20:01plus money.
20:02I do not believe
20:03that the Kansas City Chiefs
20:05are ultimately
20:06going to be
20:07a playoff team.
20:08How about
20:09when you take a look
20:10at the Rams?
20:12The Rams schedule
20:13is absolutely,
20:15positively
20:16a gauntlet.
20:18Look at those
20:18first five games.
20:20Niners
20:21in Melbourne.
20:22The Giants
20:23at home.
20:24That's a Monday night
20:25football game.
20:26The Broncos
20:27in Denver
20:27against that
20:28unbelievable defense.
20:29Not easy playing
20:30in Denver, Colorado.
20:31The Philadelphia Eagles
20:33and that is
20:34not going to be
20:35an easy game.
20:36And of course,
20:37Josh Allen
20:37and the Buffalo Bills
20:38and that likely
20:40could be
20:40a Super Bowl
20:42preview
20:43in my opinion.
20:44Also,
20:45take a look
20:45at these home games
20:46for the Rams,
20:47right?
20:48And I love the Rams.
20:49I'm probably going to
20:49pick them to win
20:50the Super Bowl.
20:51But other than Arizona,
20:53there is no easy game
20:54on this schedule
20:55at home.
20:56Giants,
20:58Eagles,
20:59Buffalo,
21:00Chargers
21:01in SoFi.
21:02Then, of course,
21:03you have Green Bay,
21:05Kansas City,
21:06the Cowboys,
21:07and that could be
21:08my Championship Sunday
21:09prediction
21:10in a preview.
21:10Week 15
21:11could be a harbinger
21:12of things to come.
21:13And then,
21:14Week 18
21:15against Seattle.
21:16So,
21:16I love the Rams.
21:18I am looking
21:20at that schedule.
21:21I think it's going
21:22to be very difficult.
21:22Now,
21:23all these teams
21:23have to beat
21:24Sean McVay
21:25and Matthew Stafford
21:26and Puka Nakua
21:27and company,
21:27and that's obviously
21:28going to be
21:29a very difficult thing.
21:30Rams need to make sure
21:32when they have
21:32these leads,
21:33you know,
21:33think back to
21:34regular season
21:35Philadelphia or Carolina,
21:37they don't mess it up
21:38on special teams,
21:39they don't blow it,
21:40because the margin
21:41for error
21:42in that division
21:43when you're going up
21:44against the likes
21:44of Seattle
21:45and San Francisco,
21:47it's going to be
21:48ridiculously tough
21:50and ridiculously difficult.
21:51So,
21:52I think that the Rams,
21:54and you've got to remember
21:55what Sean McVay
21:56told me on my
21:56Sirius XM radio show
21:58when he cursed
21:59and he was fired up
22:01and he said,
22:02let's bleep and go
22:03and I bleep and love it.
22:05I think the Rams
22:06are going to be awesome
22:07this year.
22:07I really do.
22:08Schedule is tough.
22:09Start of the season
22:11is very difficult
22:12for the Rams.
22:13It's also worth noting,
22:15Rams,
22:17Niners,
22:18Seahawks,
22:19three teams
22:20thinking Super Bowl.
22:21Three teams
22:22thinking 11 or more wins.
22:24Frankly,
22:24if they win 11,
22:25you're going to be
22:26disappointed
22:26if you're a fan
22:27of one of those teams.
22:28So,
22:29making sure you
22:30handle business,
22:30making sure you
22:31handle business early
22:32to make sure you
22:33don't have to exert
22:34as much energy
22:35and handle that
22:36business at home
22:37is going to be
22:37paramount here
22:38for the L.A. Rams.
22:40Everyone's going nuts
22:41about the Bears
22:42and their tough schedule.
22:44Oh,
22:45I don't know.
22:45I don't see it that way.
22:48I mean,
22:48I look at it
22:49and say,
22:50okay,
22:51they'll beat Carolina
22:52and Carolina.
22:53They'll beat
22:54Minnesota at home.
22:56They'll beat
22:56Philadelphia.
22:57They won in Philly
22:58last year
22:59on Black Friday.
23:00They'll beat the Jets.
23:02They'll beat
23:02the Green Bay Packers.
23:04They'll beat
23:04the Atlanta Falcons.
23:06I don't even understand
23:07why everyone here
23:09is going nuts.
23:10People online,
23:11oh, the Bears are done.
23:12Count them out.
23:13It's not going to happen
23:14for Chicago.
23:16That's amateur hour.
23:17That is atrocious.
23:19That's a terrible,
23:21terrible thing here.
23:22So, I disagree
23:24with that notion.
23:25I am philosophically
23:26opposed to anyone
23:27ripping the Bears.
23:28I mean,
23:29I look at this team,
23:30this quarterback,
23:31this coach,
23:32this schedule,
23:32and I have them
23:34winning the division.
23:35And with that said,
23:36here's another one
23:37on social media
23:38I'm going to debunk
23:39for you.
23:40The Green Bay Packers
23:41are on a road to nowhere.
23:42And I just don't understand
23:44why you have people
23:46online saying that
23:48the Green Bay Packers
23:49got some kind of break
23:51and the NFL somehow
23:52gave them an easy schedule
23:54for the Green Bay Packers
23:56when you look at
23:57Green Bay's schedule
23:58and it's a spot
23:59and a situation
24:00where it's going to be
24:02an easy road
24:03for Green Bay
24:03if Micah Parsons
24:05is on the pup list
24:05to start the season.
24:07I don't feel that way
24:08at all.
24:08I mean,
24:09in Minnesota,
24:11that's a loss.
24:12At the Jets
24:13without Micah Parsons,
24:14that's a loss.
24:15I'm telling you
24:16right here,
24:17right now,
24:17the Green Bay Packers
24:18are going to start
24:20the season 0-2.
24:21And I like Minnesota
24:23week one.
24:24I like the Jets
24:26to beat them
24:27in week number two.
24:28Not to mention,
24:29I mean,
24:30the Falcons
24:30are a team
24:31that is vastly improved.
24:33The Buccaneers,
24:35the Bears,
24:35the Cowboys are better.
24:37We can go on and on.
24:38In fact,
24:40the Green Bay Packers
24:41are not making the playoffs.
24:42I mean,
24:42let's be crystal clear
24:43on that.
24:44Jordan Love
24:45is not the guy
24:46to take you
24:46to the next level.
24:48Micah Parsons
24:49not being healthy
24:50to start the season
24:50is a problem.
24:51I think Minnesota
24:53is better
24:53than the Green Bay Packers.
24:55The Bears are better
24:56and the Lions are better.
24:58I have the Green Bay Packers
25:00finishing in last place.
25:02You look at the schedule
25:03in conjunction
25:04with their talent
25:05versus the talent
25:07of the other teams
25:08in the NFC North.
25:09They might win eight.
25:11They might win nine.
25:12But that's going to be
25:13last place
25:15for the Green Bay Packers
25:17when you look at it
25:18for this season.
25:19I thought the big winner,
25:22the Cincinnati Bengals.
25:23I thought the winner
25:25of schedule release,
25:26the Cincinnati Bengals.
25:28I love this team.
25:29I love their offseason.
25:31I love Joe Burrow being back.
25:32I love their ability
25:34to start hot.
25:35I love that stretch
25:37in the middle
25:38where you look at it
25:39and you see Tennessee
25:41and you see Atlanta
25:43and you see Pittsburgh
25:44and you see Washington
25:46and you see New Orleans
25:47and you see Cleveland
25:48and you see Kansas City
25:51at home
25:51and you see Carolina
25:52and you see the Colts
25:54and you see the Ravens
25:56which is going to be
25:56a home primetime game
25:58which is what Joe Burrow
25:59has begged for.
26:00He's sick and tired
26:01of going to Baltimore
26:02and facing Lamar Jackson
26:03in Baltimore
26:04and they gave him that game
26:06and they did it
26:07on New Year's Eve
26:08and they gave him
26:09that final game
26:10against the Cleveland Browns
26:12and I'm telling you
26:13right now,
26:13here's the ball prediction.
26:15Bengals win the division.
26:18The Bengals at most
26:21lose one game
26:23from November 1st on.
26:26Now, one game.
26:28I love this team.
26:29I love Dexter Lawrence.
26:31I love how they brought in
26:32big-time pieces on defense
26:34from winning programs
26:35like Kansas City
26:36and from Seattle.
26:38This is exactly
26:40what this team needed to do.
26:42So, if you are a sports better,
26:45if you're a Bengals fan,
26:48you're fired up.
26:49I absolutely love this team.
26:51I love Jamar Chase
26:53and Tee Higgins.
26:54They are...
26:54You almost have to say
26:55these things out loud
26:56because last year
26:57was such a waste
26:58in Cincinnati.
27:00Joe Burrow is one
27:01of the four best quarterbacks
27:03in the NFL
27:03and could easily win
27:04the MVP this year.
27:05And that combination
27:06with Chase and Higgins,
27:08that's the best one-two punch
27:09at the wide receiver position
27:11in the entire league.
27:12So, I'm thrilled
27:14for a long-suffering Bengals fan.
27:16And to me,
27:17when I'm going over
27:18the teams that I love
27:20in the AFC
27:20and we will finalize
27:22our picks and predictions
27:24and lock them in
27:25right after Labor Day,
27:26it's what we always do,
27:27see who gets moved where.
27:29We'll see about injuries.
27:30I think the three best teams
27:32on paper in the AFC,
27:33the order's up for debate.
27:35Bengals, Buffalo, the Chargers.
27:38Those are my three favorite teams
27:41in the AFC.
27:42AFC is loaded this year.
27:44You have legitimately
27:4711 teams that think
27:48they're going to make the playoffs.
27:49Only seven, obviously,
27:50are going to do it.
27:51You have 11 teams, I'm sure,
27:52in their building,
27:53in their facility,
27:54thinking that they're going to be able
27:55to win a playoff game or two.
27:57I think the Cincinnati Bengals
27:59deserve to be celebrated
28:00for attacking the offseason
28:02with a thirst and enthusiasm
28:05that the organization
28:06hasn't had historically
28:07in order to win a championship.
28:09And I think Joe Burrow
28:11is going to go out there
28:12and kick ass and take names.
28:13And if you're a Bengals fan,
28:15this is going to be
28:16a thing of beauty.
28:17If you're a Buffalo Bills fan,
28:18you've got to love it.
28:19You've got to love sports.
28:20And I think the Bills starts
28:22to the season is tough.
28:25I mean, those first two weeks,
28:28look, and I predict
28:29they'll beat Detroit,
28:30but that's going to be
28:31an emotional night,
28:33first night in the new stadium.
28:34I mean, these,
28:35look at the first five weeks, right?
28:38Realistically,
28:40Buffalo's going to lose week one.
28:41So, realistically,
28:43I can't right now,
28:45and I love Josh Allen,
28:47love what they did
28:48with Joe Brady in the offseason,
28:50love the Bradley Chubb move,
28:51love how they addressed
28:52the defense,
28:53love D.J. Moore.
28:54I can't look at history
28:57and where the Texans are
28:58and say that's the team
29:00that I can't pick Buffalo
29:01to beat them.
29:02When you look at the rest
29:03of the schedule for Josh Allen
29:04in those first five weeks,
29:06obviously we're talking about
29:08a first game in the new stadium,
29:10the Detroit Lions.
29:12That's going to be
29:13an emotional night.
29:14I think they'll be able to win.
29:15Week three is a tough game.
29:17Week four is a tough game.
29:19Week five is a tough game.
29:20I do think you're going to see
29:22Buffalo able to navigate here
29:24when you look at the ability
29:26to go out and beat New England.
29:28I think Buffalo needs to
29:30and is capable of winning,
29:33when you look at the schedule,
29:35three of the first five.
29:37And I'd like to see four
29:39for the Buffalo Bills, right?
29:41And I don't think that's crazy.
29:43I think they'll be able to beat
29:45the three teams in the middle there.
29:49Detroit, the Chargers, the Patriots.
29:51That is as tough a slate
29:54as you could have.
29:55Now, you finish against Miami.
29:57You finish against the Jets.
29:59Those should be two dubs.
30:00I do think they'll be able
30:02to handle that game
30:03that we referenced earlier
30:04when you look at the Denver Broncos.
30:05So, man, I live for this.
30:08I count these wins and losses
30:10for Buffalo.
30:11I think they're going to hit 12.
30:12I think the Buffalo Bills
30:14are going to be dynamite this year.
30:15I think we're jumping through tables.
30:17I think Josh Allen is once again
30:19going to be in the mix for MVP.
30:21And I think this is going to be
30:22an unbelievable season
30:24for the long-suffering,
30:26amazing fans of the Buffalo Bills.
30:29Let's shine on hoops.
30:30Former Nick Stephon Marbury
30:32thinks the Knicks are in the driver's seat
30:34as they wait to see
30:35who ultimately wins
30:36the Cavs' Pistons series.
30:38I feel like, I don't care who we play.
30:40I feel like they have to match
30:42our energy right now.
30:43We're home resting, getting stronger.
30:45We're lifting weights.
30:46We're shooting thousands of shots.
30:48We're going over new offensive sets
30:51that they haven't seen,
30:52so they can't scout.
30:53We got almost two weeks.
30:54That's longer than training camp, my dude.
30:57That's longer than training camp
30:59that we can watch.
31:00We can study.
31:01We're in shape.
31:02We know each other.
31:03We don't have any of those.
31:05We don't have no distractions.
31:06We don't have any of those things
31:08to worry about or think about.
31:10We got OG now.
31:11He's healing.
31:12I mean, when you look at our team
31:15and you look at the temperament,
31:17we're literally taking our time.
31:19We're breathing.
31:20We're right now inside of the,
31:22we're inside the tank right now
31:25with the oxygen mask on.
31:26If you've seen my Instagram, check it out.
31:31We've not only seen that Instagram,
31:33we have also seen the Twitter
31:36for our guy, Steph Bondi,
31:39who does an unbelievable job
31:41covering the Knicks for the post.
31:43This is all you need to know.
31:46OG Ananobi, full participant in Knicks practice,
31:51according to Mike Brown,
31:53and OG Ananobi scrimmaged
31:55and did everything we did in practice.
31:59Let's go!
32:00Let's go!
32:02That's it!
32:03That's all I've been waiting for.
32:04OG Ananobi to be healthy.
32:06A full practice?
32:08A full practice!
32:10Let's go!
32:12And here's the thing,
32:13and I'm going to tweak my take, right?
32:16No matter how this plays out
32:18with Cleveland and Detroit,
32:20Knicks are absolutely beating
32:22whoever they play
32:23in the Eastern Conference Finals.
32:24And the Knicks are going to the NBA Finals
32:26with a real chance to beat OKC,
32:29if OKC gets past San Antonio, by the way,
32:31and a real chance to win a championship this year.
32:34We needed, the Knicks needed,
32:36OG Ananobi healthy.
32:38He's too important.
32:40Offense, defense most especially,
32:42rebounding, how tough he is, how clutch he is.
32:44You can make a case, right,
32:47OG Ananobi has been the MVP of the Knicks
32:49during this unbelievable stretch in the playoffs.
32:52But you can't win the East,
32:55or a championship most especially,
32:57without OG Ananobi.
32:59So having all this time off
33:00and the way that they kicked the Sixers' ass
33:03and swept them and got the idle time,
33:04the whole rest versus rust,
33:06this is what was needed for this basketball team.
33:10Simple as that.
33:13Now, I've been stressing length
33:17when it comes to Cavs Pistons.
33:20Here's what I want to happen,
33:22and here's what I think is going to happen.
33:24And it happens to be the exact same thing.
33:26I think Cleveland wins tonight.
33:28And I think we're going to see Cleveland win at home.
33:31They haven't lost in the postseason at home.
33:34And they're going to win the game.
33:37They're going to spray champagne.
33:39They're going to celebrate, and they should.
33:42Then they're going to have to wake up
33:43early in the morning on Saturday.
33:45They're going to have to fly to New York.
33:47They're going to have to game plan for the Knicks.
33:50James Harden, lack of sleep, bring it on.
33:54Give me a home playoff game on Sunday.
33:58Give me the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
34:02Give me home court advantage for the Knicks.
34:05Give me O.G. Ananobi in the starting lineup.
34:08Give me Carl Anthony Towns playing that point center.
34:13Give me Jalen Brunson early on hitting some monster shots.
34:17Crowd erupts.
34:19The Cavs fall asleep.
34:20And give me the Knicks to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers in six.
34:26That is officially my new script and prediction
34:30when it comes to the New York Knicks.
34:32So, look, no matter who it is, I'm picking New York, right?
34:36I'm picking the Knicks.
34:37The Knicks are right now on a heater.
34:39O.G. being healthy.
34:40O.G. returning to practice.
34:42O.G. going through a scrimmage today.
34:44That's everything.
34:46Woo!
34:46That's exactly what the Knicks fans needed to hear.
34:49That is everything.
34:50And now, bring on the Eastern Conference Finals.
34:54Win the Eastern Conference.
34:56Go to the NBA Finals.
34:58Have an opportunity to compete and go win a championship.
35:01And it's all there for the Knicks.
35:04Meanwhile, Western Conference.
35:06Can the Spurs keep playing like they did in the last game?
35:09He's got it the other way.
35:11Pitch to the corner.
35:12Champagne.
35:14Side ball.
35:14His hands are locked.
35:15Eighth-year man Reed is in.
35:17Wemby.
35:18And he's doing a lot.
35:20Box around.
35:21Ramp.
35:21Love it for Wemby.
35:23Disco.
35:23Bear.
35:24Something matters.
35:25Harper on this.
35:26Wemby put it back in.
35:28Wemby piece.
35:29That's a thing I like.
35:30Oh, wait a minute.
35:32Are we doing some Harlem football stuff out here?
35:34So the question is, when the Spurs win tonight, and they will, can they challenge the Thunder?
35:43And they can.
35:44And they will.
35:45And I think that the first part of this is actually, literally, not to go all yogi on you,
35:52the first part of this.
35:53I think we're going to learn a lot about Wemby and the Spurs from this perspective.
35:59Just eliminate Minnesota.
36:01Handle your business.
36:03They will.
36:04They should.
36:05They need to.
36:06But make sure it happens.
36:08Because once that happens, look, Spurs this year have played well against OKC.
36:15So I think that you're going to see San Antonio act like they've been there.
36:19I think you're going to see the Spurs take care of business against Minnesota.
36:23I don't give Minnesota a chance tonight.
36:25Love Anthony Edwards.
36:26Phenomenal player to watch.
36:28Love what Chris Finch's team has done with all the injuries and issues and how they beat
36:33the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs and even the way they've challenged
36:38San Antonio here.
36:39But I think that the Spurs will win tonight and ultimately win this series in six.
36:45And I'm telling you right now, I think Spurs thunder goes the distance.
36:52And I don't think, you know, OKC's 8-0, right?
36:56They haven't lost a game.
36:57I think that series goes the distance.
37:00And I think that ultimately is going to be OKC beating San Antonio in a seven-game classic.
37:07Let's shine on baseball, where the Mets host the Yankees, two teams on opposite ends of
37:13their respective standings.
37:14Juan Soto, fired up.
37:17From both clubhouses, what's the difference in the perspectives?
37:22I mean, I would say it's the same thing.
37:24It's the vibe that you feel in the stadium outside.
37:28It's just great.
37:28You see the fans and the fields and everything.
37:35It just feels different, you know.
37:37And it feels great to be out there.
37:41Listen, Juan Soto is, you know, still an enemy for Yankees fans.
37:47But this series has kind of flipped in terms of some of the script, right?
37:52The Mets enter this one as the honor team.
37:56Didn't have that on my bingo card at the beginning of the week.
38:00Yankees are scuffling.
38:01Yankees have lost consecutive series.
38:04The Mets busted out the brooms.
38:06Can we give credit?
38:07I'll give credit.
38:08I'm not crowning them.
38:10They're not back.
38:10But we certainly would have been critical if they lost a series at home to Detroit.
38:15So let's give credit, Marcus.
38:17Simeon, my guy, had a home run.
38:19Love what I saw from the Mets and how they came back in these games.
38:24Terrific.
38:25Absolutely terrific.
38:26The pitching matchup tonight, I mean, this is good stuff.
38:30When you have Schlittler going up against Clay Holmes, the former Yankee.
38:34And, you know, Holmes has been excellent for the Mets this year.
38:37Schlittler's been unreal.
38:39You look at the pitching matchups, I see the Yankees taking this series.
38:44I think the Yankees take two out of three.
38:46I think this is a pressurized series, though.
38:50Let's be crystal clear.
38:51Some series are bigger than others.
38:54Obviously, Carlos Mendoza can't lose to the Yankees.
38:59Image-wise, can't get swept by the Yankees, especially the Yankees, who have lost, you know, consecutive series.
39:05Got to swept the Milwaukee.
39:06Lost a series against Baltimore.
39:08And if you're Aaron Boone, your team better get it done going up against the New York Mets.
39:14You can't lose three straight series and have the third one be the New York Mets.
39:19I think the Yankees, my worry level when it comes to the Yankees, and there are questions and issues and
39:24jazz can hits right now.
39:26And Austin Wells feels like an automatic out.
39:29And Volpe should be in double-A, not even good enough for a triple-A.
39:34But Yankees are the better team.
39:36And the Mets, I give them credit.
39:38They're not back, but they deserve a lot of credit.
39:41I will take the Yankees two out of three going up against the Mets in the first rendition of the
39:47Subway Series in 2026.
39:48But wait, there's more.
39:50Week 12 versus the Patriots.
39:55Conquer the cupcakes.
40:14I mean, it is an absolute holiday when it comes to the schedule release videos, and I can't get enough.
40:21And the New York Post making it in the schedule release.
40:25Hey, look at that.
40:28The Chargers video is unbelievable.
40:31Every year they slam it out of the park.
40:33It is brilliant.
40:35It is funny.
40:36The entire thing is unreal.
40:39I can't get enough.
40:41It's incredible.
40:42And honestly, it's sensational.
40:45And they deserve a lot of credit.
40:47Go back and listen to every single word.
40:50There's always so many Easter eggs.
40:51You have to see them.
40:52You have to hear them.
40:53The Cam Newton voice on Keon Coleman.
40:56The way they talk about the Ravens and the passing, the physical, the Tom Brady stuff with the Raiders.
41:04And obviously, everything with the New England Patriots, it's amazing.
41:10The Titans video, every single year, they crush it.
41:14This is unreal.
41:15I mean, they go up to people on the streets, and it's a lookalike thing.
41:21Here's the Jets.
41:22And I mean, and then you go to the Eagles.
41:25And then it's just the whole thing is just, it's wild.
41:28It's absolutely wild.
41:29And, you know, the Scadaboo one is incredible.
41:31This is my friend.
41:33Random people for the lookalikes.
41:36It's nuts.
41:37The C.J. Stroud.
41:38And the whole thing is that Derrick Henry.
41:40The C.J. Stroud one from the Chargers is pretty great, too.
41:45So this is the Stroud one.
41:46It's just unbelievable here when you look at it from a Tennessee perspective.
41:50They know exactly what they're doing.
41:52The McAfee stuff was incredible.
41:54I mean, every single year, this social media team.
41:58This is my, look at the Miles Garrett side by side.
42:00Wait for this one.
42:03Just, come on.
42:04Come on.
42:05That's about as good as it gets.
42:07The social media team.
42:08The Giants did a great job.
42:10I love the Tampa Bay Watch.
42:12That was incredible.
42:13The Colts with the Simpsons.
42:16I will not make fun of Tyreek Hill on the chalkboard.
42:20Just amazing.
42:21I encourage you to watch them all, except the Cardinals.
42:23What the hell was that?
42:25That's the show.
42:26If you missed any portion of the show, just do what I do and watch it over and over and
42:30over again.
