Gabriela, a theater student and cheerleader for a basketball team begins a job at a carwash in order to help out her family - her father has just died and she is the eldest of her siblings. The carwash is owned by a famous businessman, Tony Clemente, who will meet Gabriela and have a short but passionate affair with her. Gabriela, however, is falsely accused of drug trafficking and ends up in jail, with a 15-year sentence. Tony abandons her due to her bad luck, choosing to ignore the fact that she is expecting his child. In jail, Gabriela plots her escape, something she pulls off after having served seven years behind bars. Only one objective drives her existence: revenge against the man who ruined her life, Tony Clemente. To achieve her purpose, she changes her name and her physical appearance and manages to reintroduce herself into the life of Tony, making him fall in love with her all over again.

00:01You're an unwed mother?
00:03Sometimes they're the best mothers.
00:05In this place, you'll have all the right care for the fetus and for yourself.
00:11I can't be pregnant.
00:13I can't be. I'm not pregnant.
00:17All right, Gabrielle, all right.
00:20I'm not pregnant.
00:22Sir, you can't just...
00:23My name is Tony Clemente.
00:25It's urgent I see Gabrielle Swanson as soon as possible.
00:35I'm sorry, Mr. Clemente. This is a prison. We have regulations.
00:40I insist on seeing her.
00:41The answer is still no.
00:44Nobody, no matter who they are, may see her.
00:47The regulations are very clear on that.
00:51There are no exceptions, and you're going to have to accept it.
00:55Ma'am, please listen.
00:57Warden, I don't have time to waste with this.
00:59Now, I want you to call the commander this minute, and he'll give the okay.
01:02Excuse me, Warden. Pardon me.
01:05What is it?
01:06Mr. Clemente, how are you?
01:09I see that you're a man of your word. Thank you.
01:12Warden, could I see Miss Gabrielle Swanson, please?
01:15Of course. I'll call the guard to escort you to her cell.
01:20I'm sorry I can't say the same to you, Mr. Clemente.
01:23You are not going to stop me from seeing her.
01:27Mr. Clemente, outside there are guards.
01:31They are there at my direction.
01:34Shall I call them in?
01:41Have you seen Gabrielle?
01:43Then would you tell her, I want to see her?
01:50Mom, I just didn't want you to be more worried than you already are.
01:54Oh, God, Julia, I wouldn't blame you if it was the telephone bill or the electric bill. No.
02:01But we're a family, Julia.
02:03Dear God, I'm your mother and I'm Gabrielle's mother.
02:07How could you not tell me something like that?
02:10Mom, we don't know.
02:12Personally, I really don't think she is pregnant.
02:14I mean, maybe her period is late, but that's natural.
02:18It happens to all women that are under pressure.
02:29She really asked you to bring her this home pregnancy test?
02:41Yes.
02:43Oh, my God.
02:45Then she asked me.
02:48No, Mom.
02:51I don't think that she is pregnant.
02:53Oh, who would you think a minute, Julia?
02:56If she wanted the test with all that's been happening,
03:00it means she knows she's pregnant.
03:02She just needed to confirm it.
03:05Mom, you don't know all the facts, so don't jump to conclusions.
03:08Oh, Julia, I can feel it in here.
03:12I am sure.
03:13Doctor, I would like to speak to Miss Swanson.
03:17I don't think she's up to it.
03:22I'll wait outside.
03:29Gabrielle?
03:33Oh, I'm so tired.
03:36Gabrielle.
03:38Listen to me.
03:40I've got some news.
03:41Something very important has happened in your case.
03:45You know, I can't make any promises.
03:49Because you've still got a long way to go.
03:52But we cleared up the savings account.
03:55Proved you didn't do it.
03:59And the money?
04:00A banker.
04:02Everything is cleared up.
04:06David.
04:07I'm fighting for you, Gabrielle.
04:08And I'll keep fighting until you're free again.
04:11That's what I've come to tell you.
04:15And I'm not giving up until you're out of this jail.
04:19I'm not giving up until you're home with your mother.
04:22Hmm?
04:24There's no way out.
04:29I don't care anymore.
04:32Look for Tony.
04:34Gabrielle, you must try to put him behind you.
04:36Tony Clemente is the reason why you're in jail.
04:39Forget him.
04:41How could I ever forget bringing him?
04:46Bring me Tony.
04:48Detective Randall, I must ask you to leave the room.
04:52Miss Swanson needs her rest.
04:54Yes, doctor.
04:58Gabrielle.
05:00You'll see me again soon.
05:03All I want is for you to get better.
05:06Everything is gonna be fine.
05:07You'll see.
05:13Bring me Tony.
05:16He's the only hope I have left.
05:19No.
05:20Look for him.
05:23Do you understand?
05:27Because I love him.
05:30I love him.
05:34Because now he must make a decision.
05:41He has to decide.
05:44I want that warden on the phone.
05:46Right away.
05:47But she isn't in her office.
05:48Well then try and find her.
05:49Call every official in the city and tell them Tony Clemente is looking for her.
05:53I'll have a press conference in one hour.
05:55Call every reporter we know.
05:56Now get going.
05:57You're going too far.
05:58Not far enough.
05:59Wallace, I know in my gut she's totally innocent.
06:03I'm taking this to the public.
06:04Because I want Gabrielle's mother to hear every single word.
06:07I'll say it on camera.
06:09On television.
06:10And that way Gabrielle will know for sure that I'm on her side.
06:13I don't care what happens.
06:14Company reputation be dead.
06:15Will you listen to yourself?
06:16No.
06:18I want you to listen to me.
06:19I'm making this decision.
06:20Understand?
06:22If you have a problem with that, think about what it is you want to do.
06:27I will use every last resource I've got to get her out of jail.
06:30You don't even have a scrap of evidence.
06:32Their evidence amounts to nothing.
06:36You see this blood, Wallace?
06:38This is what I know.
06:39This is all I really am.
06:42Here is your evidence.
06:44This has nothing to do with Layla.
06:47This is about the truth.
06:50And this is all that's been true since I've known Gabrielle.
06:53I'm through with it, Wallace.
06:54I'm finished feeling guilty and ignoring what I want.
06:59Take a look at who I really am.
07:03I'm going to look into her eyes again even if it's only to say goodbye.
07:07What about Layla?
07:08You see?
07:08Forget about Layla.
07:09This is about me.
07:11Just me.
07:13That girl has more dignity than anyone I've ever known.
07:17She cared about me.
07:19And it wasn't my power.
07:21It was the love that we shared.
07:26I'm finally through feeling guilty, Wallace.
07:29I'm going to live for me.
07:36Which locker belongs to Gabrielle Swanson?
07:38That would be this one.
07:39All right, open it.
07:40But I can't just open it.
07:42It's private property.
07:42Not according to my search warrant.
07:44Open the stupid locker.
07:46Look, I don't even have a key to it.
07:50Go ahead.
07:51There is a lot of wherever you have to be.
07:53It's a little trick.
08:00And he's done by the way,
08:02you can look into the garbage.
08:02Your dog is here.
08:05Fair enough.
08:17You have to来.
08:18All right.
08:25This is it.
08:28Confidential Clemente Enterprises.
08:31What do you know?
08:32What do you intend to tell the media?
08:35The facts.
08:37That my corporation knows Gabrielle to be innocent,
08:40and that we will support her.
08:43And Amanda?
08:45She will talk.
08:47Tony, I can't believe you'd let a woman like this get to you.
08:50At the airport, she actually accused you of trying to kill her.
08:53That's not important.
08:55And Amanda is going to say whatever she wants to say.
08:59Mr. Clemente, the reporters are ready.
09:03Let them in.
09:04Sir, Commander Furman is also here.
09:06He says it's urgent.
09:10All right, then. Show him in.
09:23Tony, I want you to consider accepting my resignation.
09:28The things you're saying are out of line.
09:30I'm intending to be out of line.
09:36Mr. Clemente, I know you don't consider me a friend.
09:43But please know that I don't enjoy this.
09:47What is it, Commander?
09:51It's Miss Swanson.
09:57This is to be strictly our business.
10:01Yourself, Mr. Mandela, and me.
10:05Just a minute.
10:10I think I know how you feel, Mr. Clemente.
10:15I gotta admit, we were wrong about the chick.
10:19And for that reason, you think we've committed a crime against Miss Swanson.
10:25But please believe that's not the way it is.
10:30You see, sir, it truly disturbs me very deeply to think that any girl, any girl so young, such as
10:40Miss Swanson,
10:43has been used by a criminal.
10:48You know I don't hate the young woman.
10:52But business is business, Mr. Clemente.
10:57Miss Swanson has my full support, Commander.
11:03No.
11:06Not anymore, sir.
11:11Here.
11:14Take it.
11:16Just look it over.
11:18These are confidential papers from your corporation.
11:24Documents that pertain to a ship that Clemente Enterprise has hired.
11:31And you know something?
11:33That ship has already arrived.
11:35And we've already seized it.
11:39At best, we thought we had around several hundred pounds.
11:45You know how much that is?
11:48A lot.
11:49And that was just the tip of the iceberg.
11:52They discovered more illegal drugs aboard that ship
11:56than we've ever seized in one drug bust.
12:02Now, the documents before you
12:05detail all that information
12:08with total precision.
12:11Look it over.
12:13The customs contracts.
12:15The names of employees who were to unload the cargo.
12:19The merchandise that you ordered
12:21and were legally contracted for.
12:24There were also some telexes about this ship
12:27which were sent to your corporation.
12:30And we know
12:33Mr. Andrew Payne stole.
12:36But what is most important?
12:40Do you want to know
12:41where we found those documents,
12:45Mr. Clemente?
12:48In the locker of your Gabrielle Swanson
12:51at the basketball court.
12:55The reporters are waiting, Mr. Clemente.
13:00Let them.
13:04Don't hide from reality.
13:05Don't deceive yourself, Mr. Clemente.
13:09As far as we're concerned,
13:11there's no longer any room for error.
13:13It's over.
13:15Gabrielle Swanson
13:17has betrayed
13:19and used you.
13:22She's guilty,
13:24Mr. Clemente.
13:28But maybe
13:29you can answer this question.
13:33Why was Gabrielle Swanson
13:35hiding these very confidential documents?
13:48As you all know,
13:50the Port Authority of Miami
13:51has discovered a huge cargo
13:55of illegal drugs
13:58on a ship hired by Clemente Enterprises.
14:02I'm highly concerned about this discovery.
14:05I'm highly concerned about this discovery.
14:06But I also wish
14:07to congratulate the police
14:09on their excellent work.
14:12Two of my ex-employees,
14:16Mr. Andrew Payne,
14:18my personal pilot,
14:23and Ms. Gabrielle Swanson
14:25have been proven
14:26to be responsible
14:27for this crime.
14:30I hope the weight of justice
14:32falls heavily upon them.
14:36They are fully responsible.
14:39Ms. Gabrielle Swanson
14:41is already in jail.
14:46And I thank the authorities
14:48for their rapid intervention
14:49in this case.
14:53And I hope
14:56their sentences
14:57are severe.
15:14We deny
15:16any and all
15:19involvement
15:20with either of them.
15:22They convinced you,
15:23Tony Clemente.
15:27They convinced you.
15:30I knew they would.
15:33They convinced you.
15:36That monster
15:38has destroyed Gabrielle.
15:39Mom, it's not over yet.
15:40Well, it is for Gabrielle.
15:42There's nothing
15:43we can do to save her.
15:44We're lost.
15:46I never felt so useless.
15:48Calm down, Mom.
15:49We'll think of something.
15:51You should call
15:51the news people.
15:52They'll listen to you.
15:54Oh.
16:04Oh, my God, Lucille.
16:06Have you been
16:06watching the television?
16:07It was all a lie, Brenda.
16:09You know it was a lie.
16:10We know that it is,
16:11and we're going to do
16:11whatever we have to
16:12to help.
16:14What we really need to do
16:16is find a way to help.
16:17But what have they done
16:18to Gabrielle?
16:19Oh, my dear.
16:20Mrs. Swanson,
16:21I came right over.
16:23What is this on television
16:24about Gabrielle?
16:26Felix, you know my daughter.
16:28She worked for you
16:29in your shop.
16:30She had to
16:31to make money.
16:32She needed to work
16:34for you to help me pay rent
16:35because we don't have anything.
16:38Lucille, Lucille.
16:39What is this they're saying
16:40about Gabrielle?
16:40It's all lies.
16:41Tell me it's not true.
16:42They're just slandering her.
16:43It didn't happen.
16:43Oh, but how can they get
16:44away with this?
16:45I don't know how anyone
16:46could say this about Gabrielle.
16:48Thank you all for coming.
16:50Really, thank you
16:51for being our friends.
16:52Look, Mrs. Swanson,
16:53I've known Gabrielle
16:54since we were little.
16:55You gotta know,
16:56every person in this neighborhood
16:57is standing with you.
16:58Yes.
16:59Just tell us what you need
17:00and we'll do it,
17:01whatever it is.
17:02They won't get away with this.
17:04That's right.
17:04What are they going to do to her?
17:05Now listen, Mrs. Swanson,
17:07this isn't just talk.
17:09We have to take action.
17:10Look here.
17:13Okay.
17:15A hundred,
17:16three hundred,
17:17five hundred,
17:18whatever you need, okay?
17:20Now the next thing
17:21you need to do
17:22is find an attorney
17:23and Felix thinks
17:24that's my shop
17:25will be helping.
17:26That girl will be home again,
17:27Mrs. Swanson.
17:28You count on it.
17:29And here's two hundred more.
17:31Don't worry, Mrs. Swanson.
17:32We'll all chip in.
17:33Together we'll get Gabrielle
17:34out of this.
17:36Oh, wait, wait.
17:37Listen,
17:38I want to tell you all
17:39how thankful I am.
17:41Mrs. Swanson,
17:42is it true about Gabrielle?
17:44No, look,
17:44I've known this girl
17:45since I was little.
17:46Please, listen,
17:47listen,
17:47I have something to say.
17:49Shh, listen.
17:51Please.
17:52It's wonderful
17:53that you all came here
17:55because you know
17:56how my house is.
17:58It was built with a door
18:01because that's how
18:02homes are built.
18:03But inside,
18:04not one room
18:05has ever held a secret.
18:08If you want me to,
18:10I'll knock the doors down.
18:13I'll rip everyone of them out
18:15because in this house
18:16we have nothing to hide.
18:20This is the home
18:21where my husband died.
18:24And this is where
18:26my baby Julia lives.
18:28And you know how she spends
18:30her time?
18:31With books.
18:32Studying.
18:33At home.
18:34At the school.
18:36Always studying.
18:39I opened my home
18:40to my friend Mariana
18:41because she had to come here
18:43with her son,
18:45her Andrew.
18:46Because my home is theirs.
18:49We all live here now,
18:51Mariana and Andrew,
18:52and my sweet little Nelly.
18:54You see?
18:57That's it.
19:00That's all I have.
19:04And there's nothing else.
19:09Because, you know,
19:10that's the way that I am.
19:13So like always,
19:15this hall will always be open
19:17and the world will know
19:19that monster was lying.
19:21They'll know it was all a lie.
19:24They will see who we are.
19:27And that we're hiding nothing.
19:29And that anyone,
19:31anyone who's heard of us,
19:33anyone who's heard
19:34of the Widow Swanson,
19:37they can listen
19:38and know
19:39and believe what I say
19:41with my head held high.
19:43My daughter is innocent.
19:46My God,
19:47she's innocent.
19:50Ladies and gentlemen,
19:52Mr. Clemente
19:53has completely answered
19:54all of your questions.
19:55And I think you would agree
19:57his responses were clear
19:58and precise.
19:59Mr. Clemente,
20:00is your wife going
20:01to make an appearance?
20:02I'm afraid not.
20:03Gentlemen,
20:05we're done.
20:06I have no more to say
20:06at this time.
20:07Have you considered
20:08taking legal action
20:09against Gabrielle Swanson?
20:10No decision has been made.
20:12Gentlemen,
20:13no more pictures, please.
20:14I implore you.
20:15It's my face
20:16and I'm through
20:17being photographed today.
20:18A few more questions, please.
20:20No more questions.
20:21Thank you for coming.
20:22It's over.
20:23This concludes
20:23the press conference.
20:24But, Mr. Clemente...
20:25Gentlemen, follow me.
20:26There'll be cocktails
20:27served in the penthouse.
20:28No more photos, please, okay?
20:30Thank you, everyone.
20:31I told you it's over.
20:31That will be all.
20:32There'll be a little reception
20:33waiting for all of you
20:35in the penthouse.
20:36If you will follow me, please.
20:37One more photo
20:38and I'll break your head.
20:39Gentlemen,
20:41Clemente has answered
20:42all of your questions.
20:44You do realize
20:45the distressing nature
20:46of this problem.
20:48Two ex-employees
20:49of this corporation,
20:51Andrew Payne
20:52and one Gabrielle Swanson,
20:54conspired
20:55to use Clemente Enterprises
20:57as a cover
20:57for their own
20:58illegal activities.
21:00Now then,
21:01if you please,
21:02we can all continue
21:03this conversation
21:04more comfortably
21:05upstairs at the reception.
21:27Mr. Clemente,
21:30there were a few rough moments,
21:32but you should know
21:33you were wonderful.
21:34Get Gerald in here,
21:35will you?
21:36What are you going to do?
21:38Who knows?
21:40Do you, Nora?
21:41Because I don't...
21:42You had the courage, sir,
21:44to tell the truth today.
21:47The courage?
21:50That woman
21:51and Andrew,
21:52they never deserved
21:53your confidence.
21:56The courage?
21:57They betrayed your trust.
21:59They just wanted
21:59her to take advantage
22:00to take advantage of you.
22:02No, Nora.
22:04There was no betrayal.
22:07It's my fault
22:08for trusting her.
22:11I'm not sure
22:12I can still run
22:13this enterprise.
22:15So many years,
22:16so many years,
22:17Nora.
22:19I can't even tell you
22:20how hard it was

31:09Sure.
31:10Yeah.
31:11Gabrielle.
31:12Nothing matters anymore.
31:15I don't know you.
31:18And I can see you're very young.
31:20But I don't know why you're here.
31:25I belong here.
31:29I truly belong here.
31:32Look, Gabrielle.
31:34It's very important that you begin to pull out of this.
31:39For the sake of the baby inside you.
31:42You see?
31:44Now, I'm not going to tell you that you should relax.
31:48Pretend nothing's happened.
31:50No.
31:51That's not true.
31:52But what is true is that you've been strong enough to survive.
31:56And you can't give up now.
32:00I'd like to leave.
32:02Now.
32:03Go back to my cell.
32:04That's all right.
32:23Here.
32:24This will relax you and help you get to sleep.
32:27You have to get to sleep.
32:31And after you've had some rest, take another look.
32:35It won't be pretty.
32:37It won't be beautiful.
32:39But it could be you'll see things a little more clearly.
32:42And you're going to have a child.
32:44A beautiful child.
32:47You should accept this now.
32:49Because it's yours.
32:50And nobody can take it.
32:52And when you're free, your child will be waiting.
33:03Orderly.
33:06Miss Swanson wants to return to her cell.
33:18Where's Mom?
33:19She's next door.
33:20Your neighbors are so nice.
33:22Tell her I went out.
33:23Where are you going?
33:24To see Tony Clemente.
33:26He'll pay for what he did tonight.
33:28I want to look him in the eye.
33:30And I'll make him listen to me.
33:44Hello there, Commander.
33:47Ready to admit I was right about the girl?
33:48Sure.
33:49How can I deny it, sir?
33:50She was right at the center of the whole thing.
33:53You were right.
33:54Let me tell you something.
33:56I admire you a lot.
33:58I know you have a talent for this profession.
34:01You're studying law.
34:02I have a crystal clean service record.
34:06Dan, don't tell me you're going to lose your head now over this young woman.
34:10Now, wait a second.
34:12Hold on.
34:13With all due respect, Commander,
34:16what goes on between me and Gabrielle Swanson is my business as long as I do my job.
34:21It's a little bit more complicated than that thing.
34:24Really?
34:25Yeah, that's right.
34:27This is no longer your case.
34:30Is that clear?
34:31Yes, sir.
34:32From now on, you don't talk about this case, you don't ask about it, you don't think about it anymore.
34:37Anything involving that girl is off limits.
34:40That's an order.
34:43Carry on.
34:52Mr. Clemente.
34:53This is an order from the governor allowing me to see Miss Swanson.
34:57And the point is, Mr. Clemente?
34:58Just read it, all right?
35:07Send a guard.
35:10Yes, ma'am.
35:12Do you know who is with Miss Swanson?
35:14No one.
35:15Very well.
35:16Take Miss Swanson to the East Visitor's section.
35:19Mr. Clemente has permission to speak to her.
35:22Under watch.
35:24Three minutes.
35:26That's more than enough.
35:55Someone here wants to see you.
36:00Who is it?
36:00I'm Mr. Tony Clemente.
36:15All right, then.
36:17I'll go with you.
36:21I'm ready.
36:24I want to talk to him.
36:41I have three minutes.
36:44I think that's enough for someone like you.
36:48Just enough time to say what I've come here to say.
36:56I saw you on television.
37:00I watched.
37:04I heard.
37:06What I did today,
37:09I considered my duty.
37:12And I'm not finished with you yet.
37:17I believed in you.
37:19I was convinced of your innocence.
37:23But you made a joke of me, Gabrielle.
37:28You're still in my heart.
37:31You're deep in my heart.
37:35Looking at you now,
37:38I don't understand why.
37:45What is it?
37:49Why did you come here?
37:54I'm going to forget you, Gabrielle Swanson.
38:00That night was a swindle.
38:03When I met you, you were a swindler.
38:06I even believed your whole story.
38:10The story of a girl who treated me to dinner.
38:15A story that should have been endless.
38:19And if you would have stayed there with me,
38:21it could have worked.
38:24I even believed that you've never been with another man.
38:33You're a con artist.
38:37To you, it was a lie.
38:43But to me, it was about love.
38:46That night, that night I was with you.
38:49I was convinced that I'd found everything I needed.
38:56I loved you, Gabrielle Swanson,
38:58as I've never loved anybody else.
39:04That love had a price.
39:08The actress, she had a price.
39:11The con artist, she had a price.
39:14And letting you into my heart.
39:16Deep into my heart.
39:18That had a price, too.
39:26And I'm going to pay.
39:29It's my pleasure.
39:31It was a good show.
39:35It was a good show.
39:47The service is random.
39:56It's a lot.
39:59And it's much more than you are really worth.
40:04Go ahead and count it.
40:08There are no bothersome contracts to sign.
40:11Or receipt books.
40:14You got everything you wanted, Gabrielle.
40:17You should be very satisfied.
40:26I'm pregnant.
40:27I'm going to have your child.
40:34Oh, another con?
40:40This scheme Comente Enterprises isn't paying for.
40:45Advertise.
40:47I'm sure you can find yourself another financier.
40:50Who will pay.
41:03Whose money is this?
41:14It's his.
41:17Count it.
41:19Count it.
41:22One day.
41:25I don't know how.
41:28I will return this to the man that caused me this pain.
41:33The prison should keep it.
41:36Let's take it down to the warden.
41:42Because I'll need it again.
41:49I'll need it again.
41:50You may be here.
41:54You may be here.
41:56I will leave the room for you.
41:57I won't playdin'さ.
41:57This is the law.
41:57It's the law.
42:10I won't play this.
42:10This is the law.
